- Concept of balanced and unbalanced load:
Balanced load:
The balanced load is a load in which each phase have identical impedances.
i.e each impedance has the same magnitude and phase angle. Hence each impedances draws equal current and power factor.
Unbalanced load:
The unbalanced load is a load in which eac h phase have unequal impedances.
i.e each impedance has the different magnitude and phase angle. Hence each impedances draws unequal current and power factor.
Phase current:
The current flowing through any one of th current and is denoted by Iph
Line current:
e phase windings of the system is called phase Line current means the current flowing through the AC supply lines and it is denoted by IL

Dear sir good morning. ..if the balanced load have same voltage in each phase ok. ..but the unbalanced supply have the loads are may differ ...ok but votages are differ or same ? ..please explain ...in my 3 phase energy meter shows following voltages R phase 450 voltages y phase 240 voltages and b phase 455 voltages. ... can you explain to me. ..what is the problems occurred here ? Nobody can't rectify me including EB officer. ..it will cause more EB bill to me ...another one example if I connect a 20 watts LED FLOOD LIGHTS to R phase it's consume 0.10 amphere current so...450 v× 0.10 amp × 1 PF× 1 hour = 45 watts / hours energy consumed. ..I know well no one take other than the maximum keposity of energy ...but how to possible 20 w light comsumed 45 w energy. ..I thing voltage of R PHASE is higher than 230?...please sir...please solve my problem. ..thank you

I would like to get clarification on the reason why the same phase of prepaid energy meters only keeps on burning.at first time yellow phase of prepaid meter was burnt and we replaced the new 3 pH meters , but after some time again the same phase was burnt.
