Thank You for bringing this to our attention and trying to protect them. Why someone would want to shoot or vandalize these historical sites. Red Rock Canyon, right outside of Vegas, had great petroglyphs and rock climbers ruined them! And they put a hotel on the site!

The fact that you do not understand a pictographic form does not mean there is NO writen language. Your obsession with an alphabet of a particular representative groups origin is NOT a sufficient criterion for assessing any other groups communication capacity. The clearest validation of this understanding comes with populations which did not have any contact with the indoeuropean systems of writing. Without the key to the cryptic codes the writing is just checken scratchings. Albeit a very repetitive and somewhat unaesthetic set of patterns.

Aztecs had a written language -- just most of the records were destroyed.
