Mahindra XUV300 has launched recently in the Indian market with many segment-first features. It is offered with two engine choices - 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Mahindra wants to take a step ahead in the Tier 1 cities with XUV300. Ford, on the other hand, has built a solid fan base in the sub-4 metre compact SUV segment with EcoSport. This one is available with a two petrol engine choices - 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5 litre and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. This is just a hand full of details and let our Ed. Ford Ecosport vs Mahindra XUV300 Looks
Ford Ecosport is a benchmark of refinement and sheer driving pleasure. In terms of looks, Ford Ecosport Titanium plus is the best variant which has projector headlamps, sunroof, 17-inch Alloy wheels, and body-coloured fog lamps housing. Mahindra XUV300 is designed with cues taken from bigger XUV500. It looks aggressive and stable. It has projector headlamps and LED tail lamps. It has a bigger wheelbase than Ecosport but same size Alloy wheels.

Both these cars are equally equipped and have similar quality interiors. Both of them have leather upholstery, multifunction steering wheel, Smart infotainment system, well-cushioned seats and good overall visibility. However, XUV300 has dual zone climate control which is a segment first but lacks in boot space.

Ecosport and XUV300 both have a 1.5-litre diesel engine which produces an adequate amount of power. On the petrol front, Ecosport has a 1.5-litre and turbocharged 1-litre engine options which produce 123 and 125 PS of power respectively. Diesel buyers can go with either of the two, however petrol buyer should rely upon Ford Ecosport.

With 7 airbags, Mahindra XUV300 is a step ahead from Ford Ecosport which has 6 Airbags. Although, they both have standard safety features of dual Airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder and rear parking sensors right from the base variant.

Driving ford fiesta since 8years. Apart from Being a ford lover I appreciate the efforts by mahindra. Today I tried xuv 300 diesel it is also fantastic in every manner.
Have seen xuv300 in person ..the boot space is not as bad as many people are crying about

People who never drove xuv300 already getting in to conclusion that ecosport is better..not sure why these people are so desperate to prove that their fav car is better. These are just cars.. they are not giving you any money.
Mahindra makes me feel proud. I purchased this XUV 300 5 days before. XUV makes me feel WOW ! After my 1st service am going to Goa from Chennai in mid of March-2019. Will share my experience on Mar-25-2019 once i reach Chennai.

Only one point Ashish.. I have personally test driven both of these vehicles and I also have sat on the rear bench of both of these and I can tell you for sure that the Ford EcoSport has much better under thigh support as compared to XUV 300

I saw His EcoSport comparison Review which is low rating, But I choose EcoSport Diesel.

Mahindra nailed it this time when it comes to plastic quality for interiors. Now it's almost on par with the Hyundai vehicles of this price range in terms of cabin fit finish levels. You must check out an xuv 300 in person to relate this. So don't even think of your Xylos, Scorpios or even xuv 500 while you are in the process of rating the xuv 300's cabin quality. Thanks to the Ssanyong rebranding benefits which helps keep Mahindra a step forward than its competitors.

Boot space is less in XUV 300 because rear knee room is more for XUV 300 .Rear Seats are a bit pushed backward
Its basically and urban car . And for those rear highway trips. Still better to use this in the city than the morons who buy fortuner to drive in the city.

Very nice comparison video sir. In terms of drivability ecosport defiantly winner in this segment. But mahindra xuv300 is better in engine refinement than ecosport. Also ecosport having larger boot space. Overall both cars are very nice to buy. Those who wants better driving experience Ecosport is best choice and those who wants features along with good engine Xuv 300 is better choice. Thank you

Excellent review and a very unbiased one. It would be nice if you compare with Brezza and Kick. Another comparative video of compact SUVs which are costlier than the mentioned earlier. I mean comparison of Creta and Harrier.

EcoSport S does get 6 speed manual gear box. XUV looks a great product. I will be taking a test drive of XUV shortly and take a final call. On paper, however, EcoSport Titanium + looks more VFM. It also gets a new MID display.

Xuv 300 has disc brakes in all four wheels... Which ecosport don't have. Xuv 300 has 7 airbags, xuv 300 has more torque as compared to ecosport.
Torque and power in real world are comparable considering the weight which turns the equation of asking question which has more power to wait ratio sir.
Since in almost all reviews xuv300 doesn't seems eager and powerful as we can see in this review also, Ecosports holds its low end torque as more beneficial advantage than churning out xuv all 300nm at 5k rpm which is highly unlikely to driven by most users.
Xuv300 with 180mm ground clearance is just a shame to be compared to anything in this segment, with all due respect

Proudly own the Ford EcoSport Titanium Plus (Diesel)...clocked 10k kms as on date...mileage of 15-16kmpl in city and 20-21kmpl on highways...

Very good comparison video. I booked a EcoSport Titanium diesel today. EcoSport Price is Rs 1125000 after discount (on road Delhi) whereas w8 diesel on road in Delhi Rs 1305006. So there we need to compare price too.
I am planning to buy ecosport, pls share your experience about clutch. I heard it is harder.
@@pradeepchoudhary8981 diesel clutches are a bit harder but not that much in EcoSport, after a a day of driving you will not feel it. It is comfortable to drive
EcoSport needs to update, it's outdated & space is simply claustrophobic.

@@sindhusheju4094 yes.. Companies cannot launch facelift version for every one year. Ecosport is a proven vehicle..not only in India. It s performing well in Europe and other countries.
Note xuv has headrest for rear middle passenger also to prevent whiplash neck injury in the event of an accident whereas ecosport doesn't have it.
Ideally we should compare ecospport signature with XUV 300 W8. Ecosport titanium is loaded with more features and price is below 10L where as XUV W6 doesn't have even have basic features like alloys, fog lamps..etc
If people budget is below 10 lakhs, go for ecosport titanium model.

Ecosport is a car meant for the front seat people, rear seat comfort is not good. XUV is fresh, airy and decent..best for families, boot space is decent enough unlike what people say

Even having 5 speed manual transmission, ford eco sport has greater stability and performance than Mahindra XUV 300. however it has to get 6 speed manual transmission in near future.

Most often you have said that ford EcoSport gearbox is rubberry and in this video is don't seem to stop praising EcoSport. most of your comparos always kept Brezza above it, what's the reason for change....it's not the gearbox if EcoSport s edition....time to rethink the details of this post?

Will you believe ecosport score 4 star ratings in crash test bore the govt order it mean what ever the rules maybe but the Ford will always considered their customers..... respect that
