When you got thin ass walls and constantly surrounded by negative energy so you can't rap like the building on fire... literally gotta wait to be home alone to go all out in my own room smh.
hey man I've been dealing with that as well. I had to wait for roommates to leave for my entire first e.p. now that I changed my thoughts on it it helps. if it's during the day fuck it go all out. if you're too nervous to put power in your vocals at home, imagine being on a stage where you need power in your delivery.

thats what im dealin with i rap like a beast in the car but at home i feel so maadd cause i got fire im trying to record lmao
I know this guy whose really great rapper...he's got complex schemes and lyrics,he can fit in the pocket...but is delivery is monotone which can really take the power out of his songs...
Thanks for the video Drew! I've been following you in this crazy, stupid rap dream that I have for almost 2 years now! I feel like I've nearly perfected my ability to tell stories with impressive rhyme schemes, only to turn around and realize that delivery is just as, if not more important than lyrics. Maybe in another 2 years I'll find my voice and be able to deliver as well as I write. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
Only just started rapping but when I found your channel I instantly subscribed! Love your videos man, they're helpful to me and to so many other people, keep it up please
just got done out of a recording session and I didn't sound like Eeyore. Still having probs with influcuations but working with a singing coach. when you wanna help out a country rapper HM but I know you get hit up all the time. Love your vibe bro. keep it up
that actually happened at a show where i was on stage and only half the crowd was paying attention, and the other half were just talking until the last verse of my last song then i had the whole crowds attention, but it couldve been the frustation i was starting to feel and that tone went into my song.
Yo Drew, I'm from Melbourne, Australia and your rap vids help me a lot! Your vids help me in developing my skills! keep up the vids! shout out from Melbourne, Australia!
I'm still working on my rap voice trying to get louder and more emotion in my voice. I try to really get into it but I always feel like I'm straining. Every other rapper looks like they're just casually goin hard but even when I strain tryin to get intense I still sound weak.
Vocal projection is natural you cant force it.... the beat gives you the vibe ..& if you like the beat but arent getting a vibe tell the engineer to raise the volume on the speakers & headphones ....
Drew I really wanna sign up but I am korean so I rap in Korean of course sometimes I might rap in English but mostly Korean Would it help anyway to sign up? I really want some honest answers from you as you are an expert in this area
@@fartuna4889 yeah you're right, It need time noticing the progression, but I can't get why RM's rap skills came out in your advice, like he raps in crazily various kinds and he's dope , I'll take it as an opinion and respect it tho :)
Hi Drew my son is a up coming rapper he is a great producer writes his own hot lyrics but someone in music told him he has to think about his delivery so last night I looked on youtube just looking for some advice for him and I found you Drew so I sent it over to him last night and already you have helped him to find his delivery thank you so much you have made a difference his name at mo is kris Perry but the name could change who nows he will do well in the music industry thank you good advice...Bryan.
Hey man, is there anyway I can send you one or two of my songs? Everyone says I have potential but they say I don’t sound like I believe in what I’m rapping.
okay listen up, most of ur flow depends upon ur style of writing and cadence . Cadence is the most important tool , go and observe some form J. COLE, PAC, EMINEM or Anyone u like 🌹🔥.
Pac & eminems vocal projection can be awful at times like there trying too hard... rappers with impressive delivery is prodigy listen to (i keep it thorough) dmx stop being greedy.. fatjoe has good delivery ... not always the loudest rapper of the guy that puts emotion in his voice has the best delivery
@@breaks3085 Wum Em and Pac's voices are awful at times???! They never ever sound like they pushing it to make the audience interested. Those are they natural voices and nobody has a better voice naturally than both of 'em. I've literally got my hands on every album of theres and you could easily hear that thats there natural voices. Em and Pac's voices are naturally loud and soft at times, plus rappers like Prodigy dont do a great job expressing there voices like Pac and Em do when they angry.
@@dxsh8853 bro tupac vocal projection is not clear...he does put feelin & conviction in his voice same as eminem...but for me there delivery can be really off at times...prodigy doesnt shout but it doesnt mean you cant hear the passion in his..voice.. dmx raps with passion... but delivery is subjective...some people like monotone artist some people feel artist with more cadence....
This was great advice in 2015. However, now, "under rapping" is more in vogue than "over rapping" (house on fire trick). For getting crowds pumped tho house on fire is still effective.
I dont know how to sing or rap in key, I always sound out of tune. I need to go to the basics before I can even begin to think of how to stop sounding monotone (which I do as well 😭).
When I'm recording and I'm rapping I always sense that somethings wrong and my voice isn't ryt that's why I need your help my man I soo need a famous celebrity rap career
Please make a video on how to rap with passion but to keep your throat relaxed and how to take care of your throat. I think it is really important to know so you don't hurt yourself Thanks for reading please call me anonymous thank you
Hey Drew 2nd video today i watched with you teaching. Im implementing both of these TODAY! The building is on FIRE SO LISTEN TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY!! LOL Much love -2 Geez
Rakim, Nas, Guru all spit with a lay back monotone delivery. A lot of my music is chill lay back boom bap. For me, some times that intense delivery can come off forced over certian production. How do u find that balance?
Is there a such thing as overemphasing. I'm trying to find a way to deliver my words without yelling, a style that's laid back but still hit points so I don't sound boring.
Holy damn I only heard "Burning building" and guessed what it meant and i was right xD Well alright its actually very easy to understand xD i'll go home.
Let me get your attention! I wanne do venues like pac, dmx and such. I need a vocal coach, manager, to roll with me. Heard a manager takes about 10 procent of the income. Maybe this is you, or maybe you can point me into a direction of an interested party.
Drew's advice in 3 steps:
1. Don't be monotone.
2. Get on the beat like the house is ACTUALLY IN FLAMES YO
3. GO! GO! GO!
😂😂

Jaga Jonez are you talking about Earl Sweatshirt?
Jayce/ Amphibian nah its someone I know personally no one famous
Jaga Jonez oh
Earl makes monotone sound inter sting though, that's odd
Average Gamer TG yup
I think my voice is just boring
Everyone thinks their own voice is boring
rapper dont need nice voice
The Esce look you think this because you are not habitual of listening to your voice
XavierSanchez but mine is actually boring... i rap look on my channel.. my voice is boring
Change it then
Think ing of being in a loud party works for me G appreciate that..Good shit

How To Rap
so basically to sound like changbin in my pace, or in hellevator but still manage to rap 9.5 syllebals per sec like he does LMAOO
I had to set my house on fire to actually experience what he's talking about.
Imma rap like bars set the building on fire 😎🔥
Great lessons
a better way of saying this is feel your words put your emotion into your rymes
Thanks man that will help me a lot
what do you think about the Smart Rapper ?

How do we write to a beat?
+Zeady Actually tho. I need that.
Zeady i think an important thing is to learn about bars beats and phrases
Count words is the easiest way to do it .... usually I do it like
This that this that this that this that until the bar sound like it ended
syllables
