Local guy checking in here! I find it fantastic that you chased a train down the Slow River as we call it here. Most railfans that come here usually don't chase down the coal branches unless they really know the area. Mad props on the chase down the Coal River? Glad you had fun chasing and catching some trains here
I'm from the area and have kinda rail fanned before. I followed a train on the Coal River sub from St Albans one day. I ended up getting stopped by a lack of road and the train at a gate for what I presume was a coal prep plant.

Luke Bryan has performed live in Charleston WV! If you haven't gotten the chance to see him live, you are missing out! 10/10 would recommend getting tickets and going to see him in concert! You will not be disappointed!

You should go and check out the ghost town of thrumond west virginia for a railfan Friday and csx runs right through on the New River sub
