I think to beat that hard level you need to jump between the spikes without touching them. Hope that helps.

It's an absolutely tragic turn that we will never get another pangea simulation, the toad arc truly keeps on giving with its emotional moments.
I know it's a little confusing, since this is happening in the middle of the toad arc, but this is actually the Mario Maker 1 arc.
It's a filler arc and wasn't in the manga.

I'm sad to announce that today is the day that I have officially finished binge watching every single SimpleFlips video, all 1400+ (including the 16 hours of Chaos Mario 1.0), over the last few months.
Now, while waiting for wonderful new content I have to check out his impostor SimpleClips.

the entire sequence of events at 7:36 has me in tears. simple is elated to have a cape but subsequently blinded by his own greed to have a yoshi, losing the cape and then being further punished by not being able to get the fire flower anymore. to top it off a koopa is dropped directly on his head, caving his skull in. The editing on these videos are getting insane. Its really funny how he actually hid zebras throughout the video as a follow up to the "hidden" giraffes from last video, I think it makes it way more fun and adds a lot of rewatch value, great work as always Mr Flips!

i do know that its possible to jump low enough to not hit your head on spikes in a 2 block high corridor in mm2 by buffering a jump when landing, but im not too sure if it works like that in mm1. if you could, you could hold right into the spike gap when twirl while already *in* the gap which may barely work?

the reason why there's a timer in every level is because mario has to hurry to save the princess, because when the clock strikes midnight he turns back into a pumpkin
On the hard level, wall jump very low on the wall into an immediate twirl through the spikes and you might make it through.

I had a level like 22:45 on MM1, and Nintendo took it down after a couple days. There's a big elaborate scheme of absolute nonsense, but at the beginning there's a pipe a little high up that gives you a mushroom and that pipe just lets you beat it almost instantly. I put a lot of work into designing a fake level with arrows and "puzzles" that all don't do anything and Nintendo took it down :(

5:00 you can only jump over regular blocks and ? blocks at the top of the level in levels made after the Miiverse update... that weird last update where they killed phantom jumps, made it take forever for you to star a level, and changed a whole bunch of other things for no reason.
