9:07 Nah, you miss it, the point of that scene is that when he lifted his glasses up in his hand, he had scratch marks, confirming her mom was fighting back, trying to stop him from strangulating her.
The episode that made everybody fall in love with both Sophia Falcone AND Cristin Milioti. "She intentionally left him (Johnny) alive. But why?" Because she needs him. I was just wrong about why she needed him.
Everybody? Well, not those who remember how Sofia simply killed a teenager to show her point of view about Penguin’s skills in getting out in the first episode and the fact that she made Gia Viti an orphan. I think the case with the Magpie was also quite indicative) 100% empathy for her in the situation with placement and torture in Arkham and 0% justification for her further actions) A very sad story about how people become the way they become.
This is the second time she plays a role for a single season so well she makes it iconic. The Mother from How I Met Your Mother and now Sofia. And for me she made Sofia sympathetic when she’s suppose to be a total monster. Similar to Mr. Freeze where he’s sympathetic
Ppl love to bring up that boy in episode 1 that Sofia shot like he is totally innocent. Forgetting he was trying to steal Oz’s rims and worked with his cousin who is clearly a bad guy looking to make the come up. And I’m guessing from the beating he clearly took (you noticed he’s beaten as he’s tied up) he did something to warrant that like maybe trying to extort money to talk.
That Sophia's father was the Hangman has already been clarified in The Batman. Catwoman wanted to take revenge on him for strangling her friend. That's really no surprise here and you've seen the movie. Besides, I certainly don't see Sophia as crazy, neither before nor after Arkham. She is severely traumatized, but she thinks very clearly. She only plays the crazy one when she wants to intimidate people. Then she uses her status as an ex-inmate of Arkham because anyone who doesn't know her well enough thinks she's the hangman. And those who know better believe she went crazy in Arkham. She's not crazy. She has suffered, lost a few brain cells due to the electroshocks, is traumatized, but she's not crazy.
Yeah I'm confused why this is such a reveal I thought everyone watched The Batman 🤷♂ In fact it wasn't even a reveal more just a connection confirmed 🧐
@@MikeS-ur2ql Totally. I wasn't really thinking about her (who admitted straight away she remembered nothing) specifically I was thinking more about the reactor-verse as a whole along with the general public who seemed to treat this like a big reveal when we already had the answer
Props for the writing. Everyone (inc. you guys) were going "Is she going to blow up the house?" "Is she going to shoot them all?" "Is she going to kill the daughter?".. and yet she delightfully and simply blocks the central heating exhaust.. And then skips around the house opening the windows. Wonderful :-)
Yes, an amazing episode, I really liked how even through the nuances they reveal what Sofia was like and what she became after the terrible events that happened to her.
Oz had nothing to do with the murders of the women & the journalist. He just told Carmine that Sophia was talking to a reporter. As you saw, she still called on Oz to help her & to contact Alberto. I still think Sophia talking about scratches got her sent to Arkham. She played off talking to the repoeter well. She should have known her father never wanted to discuss her mother. As per their dinner conversation. I think she went back home & try to deny to herself what she saw in those photos. But she couldn't. Unfortunately she said too much to the actual Hangman.
Yeah I think that was the moment he decided she had to be discredited too. Because now it could affect HIM. Before it was just “I didn’t kill these women so who did?”. Now it’s “you might’ve killed mom and now these other women are dying the same way?”
Sofia sparing Gia shows how she still has a lot of good left. She doesn’t want Gia to eventually get the same treatment she’ll get. Everyone else in that family deserved it for going along with setting her up instead of talking him out of it and just either leave her out of things or send her to Italy. Cause Sofia was in denial and wasn’t gonna say anything.
In the Insider for this episode shown afterwards they said that Sofia didn’t truly know exactly what her family does for “business” and using the clip of her asking her dad about the day her mom passed mentioned that whenever she would ask anything about the business they would change the subject quick. So Sofia was indeed a good person. Which has me thinking that Carmine saying he wanted her to take his place in the future was a facade. I think Penguin brought up Sofia being approached by the reporter and Carmine was baiting her to see what she would do afterwards. And more evidence that Sofia never knew is in her discussion with Alberto where she mentions that he gets to see more of what their dad does and that Sofia wasn’t filled in on a lot of things. And Sofia talked to the reported again on her own free will when she could’ve paid someone to check about her mom. Instead Sofia talks to the reporter and is in denial of the whole thing when she snaps at the reporter and has a panic attack as she leaves. Her world had been a lie
Its crazy how many people forgot that carmine in the movie strangled two women and admitted to strangling selinas mother. Like how is it not obvious that he is clearly the woman killer.
Her father runs the city if he wants something done it's done. None of that was coincidental. From the police to the lawyer to the hospital staff her dad rigged all that. Then when he died there was no financial gain to keeping her locked up, that's how her brother the new boss was able to get her out
@ Yeah, thanks for the recap.🙄 With a basic understanding of due process and court cases of this magnitude, you would know that it doesn’t move this quickly at all.
@@alexshank1414wtf are you talking about. Carmine falcone has the whole city in his pocket, if he wants someone tortured in Arkham he can organise that however fast he wants

This episode is going to be why she got the Emmy.
@@Bhint320610 she did get a golden globe nomination. The show did too and Colin.
I think Sofia's look at the end was so sexy. That dress, her hair style, makeup and lipstick were so perfect for her. Cristin Milioti killed it ❤❤
One of the best, if not The best, episode of a series filled with excellent episodes.
Sofia has reached FULL villain mode

frrrr because sofia looks INSANE in that dress, so stunning
LOVED this episode
cristin milioti ateeeee in that yellow dress
Theres apparently a clawed hand and a scarecrow mask in Rush's office in this episode cause he was allegedly meant to be Scarecrow😊
I love how scared you were for the little girl.
does your wife forget every single movie she watches with you????? everytime you bring something up from a past movie or show she "DOESNT REMEMBER"
I don’t think she’s really into this reaction stuff tbh

Justice for Magpie!
Recently watched an old Batman Animated Series episode with the Dr.Ventris wonder if he’ll have more of a “reveal”in season 2.
Nah they did Sofia dirty lol the most justifiable crash out
Sophiaaaaa 😩😩😍
*Sofia
the mrs looks good
Your the only reactor I watched that doesn't like sophia dress
Every other female reactor talked about how great Sofia looked in that dress too
🔥🔥🔥

One thing I didn’t like about this series is how fast the judgment and institutionalized Sophie was. I know it’s a fictional corrupt city, but c’mon.
