Thank you to everybody who watched and enjoyed it. And thank you Djordje for inviting me.....These episodes are a great outlet for both fans and fellow slappers. Sorry we had to cut it short, we had material for another 4 hours but wasn't sure people could handle the info overdose
@@johnmorrison5502 Its correct that the crosses aren't f-holes but I do indeed have an "access hole" on the side of the bass. So that is how I adjust it.
This was such a great episode, Kim was a great guest, there was so many people signed in to this chat. Top notch Djordje! Thank you!! More psychobilly!!
Nekroman is my biggest upright bass hero and the reason why I became an upright bass player too a long time ago. Awesome stream. Thank you Djordje Hello from Finland!
That was an awesome stream!!! Except cool stories and technical info for us the attitude of a true passionate musician which Kim have is something what is priceless too see and feel nowadays. No matter are you musician or not! Thank you guys! Killer show!
Ive always tried to imitate kims relaxed arm stylr of playing. It so makes sense to save the arms and allows you to play faster and longer. Have seen a few guys locking up their arms so tried to get away from that myself. Awesome episode! Thanks for showing your secrets Kim. Thanks djorje! Ben
Yeah, he's very relaxed. I think his bass setup (strings, their height and tension, flat and flexible fingerboard) really helps with this technique. Very unique approach, specially in the 1980's!
Hi Djordje, i just started watching your 'Slapstream with....' series. Good stuff! Sure, don't forget Eric Hammer (old friend) and Jack o'roonie from Belgium!
Bwahaha I'm gunna start playing with a kazoo😀! Yay, I use Rotosounds too👍🏼🤪👍🏼 I'm loving your show Djordge, how about givin us some RocknRick from the legendary Hellbillies and now Wild Rooster!
Please try to get my personal bass hero Jeff Roffredo. His bass playing on the Day of the Dead album was so extraordinary it is in psychobilly hall of fame. Also, I’d love to see what Jack Hanlon of Amazing Royal Crowns is up to. Thank you Djordje!! T.A.N.D!!
@@bullfiddlecat I remember Oliver Baroni mentioned him as a great inlfluece. First time I heard Steve was on the Sharks debut... man, he was a teenager these days but already so brilliant. I also love the old Frenzy stuff, "One last chance" with its Rumba groove is still one of my all time favs. Looking forward to the next sessions and especially to the one with Steve, thank you a lot Djordji for all your, work, sweat and dedication for the slapstram :-)
How to start with this whole upright bass thing? Getting lessons in a school? I mean for the classic upright bass music and then trying to play some rockabilly songs?
First send an email to contact@artofslapbass.com in order to get informed about interviews like this, online lessons and other slap bass related info. Besides that, I'd recommend to take lessons, preferably from a classical professor in order to build good technique and strong intonation. Later on, a jazz guy who can help you out with building bass lines, bass counterpoint etc. Ideally, all this you should be able to learn from a slap bass teacher that studied all this, but that's hard to find if you don't live in Austin, Nashville or Los Angeles. Lots of folks do online lessons now, so that's a possibility as well. Good luck with your slap bass journey!
Good suggestion! He was not on my list, but I'll add him. I'm also trying to mix rocka'psycho-billy guys with jazz, bluegrass and other genres in order to present this technique in it's full glory!
@@bullfiddlecat For us Pete is interesting because with Francine hi were doing something different from classic 50th rock'n'roll which we believe was represented in Finland when Francine started. Rockabilly and psychobilly audience are big in Finland and Pete is just a nice and smart guy !

Kim Nekroman how do you adjust that turnbuckle sound post in the coffin bass? There are no openings right, the crosses aren’t f holes?

Kim is such a cool down to earth dude. I cant wait to see the band live again
This was amazing. Hands down the best thing I’ve seen during this quarantine. Nekromantix has been one of my top 5 favorite bands since i was 14.
