- With little announcements to go by, the future of Walt Disney World seems incredibly uncertain. In this video, I'll be making predictions on what rides may come. From Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom to Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, here are my predictions for the next decade at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

What do YOU want to come to Walt Disney World in the next 10 years?
I'm just going to say it... A fifth gate. If they go that route then they can go all out on a villain's land, a zootopia, etc etc. Maybe something original. With that said, they cannot leave that massive hole in dynoland. So there will need to be some park expansions.
Disney needs to do a Villains Land at WDW
Villains I would love to see in the next 10 years the most alongside the other things they might have planned as well. If that Villains E-Ticket happens I would love to see a scene where its Maleficent transforming into a dragon, but the transformation would be like an illusion and after she transforms, an animatronic maleficent dragon comes and chases the ride vehicle similar to the Indominus Rex animatronic on the Jurassic World ride at Universal Beijing. I know it would be a long time to create such a thing and money too, but also the execution. I would imagine OLC doing something like this. But who knows, I just would love to see that and everything else as a whole. Now idk how the illusion would work, but I guess something similar to that Beast animatronic at Tokyo Disneyland’s Beauty and the Beast attraction idk

I feel like people are forgetting one of the characters in Encanto can talk to animals and has a jungle themed room. I hope they lean into his character and use Encanto to explore South American wildlife. It’ll make the corporate mandated IP feel a lot more natural in animal kingdom.
I know this isn't your fault since you are going off rumors and Disney's past track record, but man are most of these ideas lame! Just a ton of rethemes and clones, nothing really exciting for a decade except for Tropical Americas and Villains Land! Hopefully Epic Universe forces them to change their strategy of doing the bare minimum.
Yeah I did cut some of the more exciting rumors / ideas in favor of realism but hopefully we should be surprised! There's bound to be some things I got wrong.
Even Villians land sounds lame if these rumors end up being accurate... its just a copy and paste of Toy Story land but with a different theme.
We don't need cars land at Magic Kingdom. We need a good villains land for WDW
Agreed. Sure it fits in with the rock work, but I want an enormous and expandable Villains land, so huge it could rival the size of Fantasyland and Cinderella’s castle.
why not both RSR will be on the cheaper side since it's a clone and will be quicker to build also at the end of the day RSR is a great ride and adds much needed capacity to MK
@@tristannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn I agree! We can’t just have Big thunder Mountain as the only ride in frontier land! Maybe they can put ONLY RSR in frontier land and not have the rest of cars land there. There’s still be space for more rides and attractions.
Literally if they’re gonna add anything to magic kingdom it should be something not found at any other park (or at least at the California parks)

Zootopia is only replacing the attraction under the Tree of Life
Opening Radiator Springs Racers at MK in 2030 would be insane the CA ride would be 18 years old
I find your timeline to be quite realistic which is frustrating because by the time this 10+ year expansion is complete universal will have opened epic universe, opened the kids park in Texas, and most likely broken ground/ be part way though construction on their Europe project. Not to mention bring new experiences to their two established gates. I think this will ultimately shift the “park wars” entirely in consumer views.
I honestly hope disney goes with The Western River Expedition (and its corresponding land "Thunder Mesa") to beyond big thunder, I know its not an IP that can lure people into the park but it would be a fan favorite addition and can add for a new disney classic ride.

I have to be pessimistic here and say that IP is the way to go for theme parks now. I think Disney has said as much themselves. Would love it though!
Would love that too, but I feel if they were going to do that, the Splash Mountain retheme would have be the place to do it. If they weren’t so concerned with IP I feel changing Splash to WRE and adding Geyser Mountain to the beyond area would have made an amazing Frontierland.
DISNEY should bring back, Alien Encounter for Hollywood studios.Instead of Zootopia for the Animal Kingdom, go with the Jungle book for Asia section
How about putting Alien Encounter back in Magic Kingdom and having cast members call people "chicken" for complaining about it being too scary? After I take over Disney that what will be happening.

@@ThePlushyfanStudio That's right. One of my first announcements after taking over Disney will be the return of Alien Encounter and angry guests who complain about it being too scary will be called chicken to their face, causing them to cave like Marty McFly when someone calls him chicken.
I’ve never seen anyone mention this, but I think turning figment into an inside out ride of some sorts, especially with the success of the sequel, would make a ton of sense. Great video btw
I kinda like the idea... but what in the world would the ride system be like? The movies are about our internal emotional dialogues & coming of age.
Pete Doctor was actually in talks with Disney about this very same topic. He said that Figment is too much of a popular character and he would much prefer an attraction elsewhere. Honestly, I kind of wished he would've said yes but still keep Figment.
No way. Put Inside Out in the Wonders of Life Pavilion. That’s where they belong…after all, that pavilion was about LIFE…and it sits empty.
inside out should replace the former honey i shrank the audience/ captain eo theater that + a figment redo would set up the imagination pavilion for awhile
I heard that Disney want's to add a Lion King ride not only at Disneyland, Paris but also at Animal Kingdom. Just not sure when that will happen or if it ever happens

Hot take: if Disney does a Villains land, they need to add a moderately thrilling outdoor coaster with an inversion (think Cheetah Hunt). That tiny bit of intimidation would go a long way in a Villains area
I agree they should do something more thrilling if they go with a coaster. I suggest they go all out and do something on the level of hagrid's. Something with a drop track, a couple show scenes, launches etc.
That would be cool although I think family friendly stuff is where the money is at. Would love to be wrong though
I think the villains area should be more “thrilling” with a coaster similar to Velocicoaster. Maybe even feature it around Chernabog.
I think we're definitely getting a Figment retheme with a new Dreamfinder if the movie ever happens, but that will probably be a smaller-scale revamp using the same ride system.
Great video! But I would probably put Coco in Epcot's Mexico section.
Also, Disney’s probably gonna really try to capitalize on Inside Out after the success of the sequel.
Coco would make a lot of sense as a quick replacement for Three Caballeros although I haven't heard much rumor-wise about that happening. Inside Out does seem like a hot topic right now but I do think Disney might be slow on acting on it (Incredibles 2 had similar performance and has at most seen a retheme).
Relocate Rafikis Planet Watch, put Zootopia there ... and retheme the train that takes you to the land as the monorail from the movie.
in theory that would be neat but operations wise it's a nightmare that means only a limited amount of people will be able to visit the land if the only way to get to it is via the train
Just based on the leaks I know personally, it doesn’t appear Disney is dropping anything super large-scale until Villains. (Idk about South America, that could bridge the gap)
Also Muppets/Star Tours should maybe be looked at…
I feel like Rock And Rollercoaster should still keep some kind of music theme for it's inevitable retheme, the Iron Man coaster is really lame and I'd hate if that happened here too. The best idea I've heard is to retheme it to the Muppets band with Animal but I don't know if it would be relevant enough
A villains land would be what I'd be most excited about and I hope we don't have to wait until 2032 for it
Really enjoyed the video! I had a really similar idea as you with the Villains Land! I was thinking the land could be an old village overthrown by the villains, kinda similar to Dark Universe in Epic, but it would have more of a wooden feel to it and have a bunch of rockwork. I thought they could do an Ursula spinner similar to Dumbo and have it look hand crafted acting as an attraction that the villagers made. I also thought of a coaster idea with guests riding on a dragon, but I was thinking it could also have some indoor show scenes with the villains trying to harness power. The ride would start with Jafar using his sceptor and sending you on your first launch taking you through the land, but not being too intense. You could then go indoors and see Malificent and the Evil Queen who are preparing a spell. There would be projection mapping on the walls, and the vehicles would have a surprise, being that the ride is secretly using the omni-coaster tech and the vehicles would turn around like the spell is being casted on you. You would then weave indoors and outdoors before the villain’s plan ends up working and they gain power. I was also thinking of a boat attraction, acting as a best-of attraction. I really liked your dark ride idea, I never thought of that and I cant stop thinking about it! It could be cool if you join a resistance or something and are trying to overtake them, with the villains spotting you in the attraction and it turning into a cross between Rise of the Resistance and Spider-Man over at Universal with you running from the villains. The ride could end with one of the original characters pulling some lever or something that gets rid of the villains powers or something. I think it could also work as a boat ride using the Shanghai pirates tech. I’m really hoping we get more details on it at D23 but I think, like you said in the video, it won’t happen for a bit. I do think Villains Land will definitely be like Disney's answer to Dark Universe if that land is successful. I have a feeling we may have to wait a bit to hear more about it but crossing my fingers for sure.
A fun speculation! I don’t think Cars Land will be added to Magic Kingdom. If anything, Cars Land will be added to Hollywood Studios. Beyond Thunder Mountain will be a Coco E-ticket. I also think Zootopia will go into Hollywood Studios. You also missed several updates to EPCOT: Spaceship Earth update. Wonders of Life Update (to Inside Out). Journey into Imagination Update. A new country in World Showcase.
I think I'm with the majority about Villians Land. Not everything for disney rides should be done for kids. Adults paid for tickets and there should be something for them to enjoy as well.
Villians Land should be that area. Universal will have Dark Universe, Villians Land should be on par. A Hagrids type roller coaster could be the crossover for kids/adults. But the Maleficent Rollercoaster should be where the adults get to play. This rollercoaster should be on par with Velocicoaster, a real thrill ride for adults!
The Pirates-esque ride could be controlled by Ursula, she could use spells to bring in the other villians and they also affect the ride. That could be another crossover ride for adults/kids.
Man, I haven’t even watched the video yet, but I just wanted to say that I love your video’s!
Ps: I think that Disney doesn’t change too much in the next 10 years because they don’t like innovating and definitely don’t like doing that in a resort that is as well liked/lucrative as the resort in Orlando.
They will probably only just enough to keep up with Universal nothing more

I know it's highly unlikely but I think most would agree with me that we would rather have a whole Villain park than just one land.
How about building a fifth park - Disney By the Sea, a reimagined version of Tokyo By the Sea. They have so much land, and the parks bring in such a great ROI, its a no brainer to invest every penny they have in the parks and not give Kathleen Kennedy another cent.

Sadly Universal owns Dr. Strange he’s on an art piece in the middle of the MSHI. Also, Disney did have a Dr. Strange Meet and Greet but it closed down without any explanation.
If universal owns dr strange, how did disney get away with a meet and greet? I think disney is well informed of the characters off limits.

I wouldn’t trust Branden’s word that we’re getting Cars Land of any shape or form in MK. I don’t trust him nor his supposed “sources”. Something tells me this may not come to pass. I could be right, I could be wrong. Who knows.
I see this as semi realistic but really leaves Epcot and Hollywood out to dry for a decade when they still really need more love than they got especially Hollywood
Yeahhh that was the issue here but based on what we've been seeing from permits it does seem like Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are about to go through some long-term changes. Could definitely see more for the other two parks but I think Animal and Magic might be the focus for a bit

i honestly think that rock and rollercoaster will get completely replaced or at least retracked so they can avoid more decades of massive refurbishment periods

I think Radiator Springs Racers just in terms of exterior facade would fit into a new Frontierland and mean that Disney won't have to focus too heavily on R&D for a brand new ride. Cloning stuff is cheaper and faster in the end
Unfortunately I think the Animal Kingdom updates are a huge miss.
Encanto and Indiana Jones aren’t as timeless as dinosaurs.
Every child forever will like dinosaurs, the theming of it being a small fair and losing the coaster never helped. Update Dinosaur and retheme the land from carnival games to actual rides that immerse you in the time of dinosaurs like Pandora
I would replace the starwars launch bay/animation studios with Wakanda.
I feel like the encanto ride opening apart of phase 1 is pretty unrealistic. If anything, Indiana Jones should open first, because its reusing a old ride system and existing ride building.
If both of your 10 year plans end up more or less being correct, I think it’s safe to say at this point that from now on, Universal will get the vast majority of our time on future Orlando trips. My 2025-2026 family trip is still currently planned to be 3 days at each; Pokemon & Zelda haven’t been confirmed yet (latest rumors are that Universal might actually want to keep Springfield as long as possible), and we’ll see if Epic Universe really does force Disney to step up their game to once again win people over (maybe we’ll get some big announcements at D23?). But based on how quickly they’ve managed to build Epic Universe & the current rumors at the moment, I would say Universal definitely has the upper hand, ESPECIALLY if the Pokémon & Zelda rumors turn out to be true.
@@JFrombaugh I think there are some items on my Universal one that will come true but not as quickly as I thought. And some stuff that I don't think will come true based on current rumors. But, still, probably true on Universal having a great decade!

After watching this, nothing you predicted excited me at all. I truly hope Disney is more creative and smarter than this and they actually spend the time and money and effort on their expansions in the next decade…because this is not it.

None of those are happening. I have a Time Machine. What will be happening is the break up of Disney seeing the end of Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar in the parks and Disney being bought out and the Make Disney Great Again movement taking WDW back to the 1980s to stay there. The IP mandate becomes a virtual "No IP" mandate resulting in nearly every IP being removed and all traces of the Iger era in the parks.

@@ThePlushyfanStudio No it didn't. Josh D'Amaro was booed off the stage by an angry mob of Disney fans for showing up and D23 ended prematurely. Disney will be broken up by the government and lose every acquisition. And when I take over and make it great again, I'll be enjoying parks stuck in the 1960s. And the parks will be private clubs that only allow Disney purists to visit.
