I will never understand why people are arguing over music. Music is to be enjoyed. There are different genres of music and different types of musics. We all aren't going to like the same thing. That is the beauty of it. Regardless if we aren't into certain types of music, all artists are talented. Now if you didn't watch RE:Generation then I would suggest you watch it before commenting on the songs that was produce. Merging 2 different genres into one composition, All the producers did awesome
I don't know why, but this song made me cry. Maybe it's because of the beauty of this song that reminds me that music makes our life so beautiful, I wonder how life would have been without it.. The evolution of it is amazing. To combine old and new, was just the best idea and gave birth to eargasmic creation. And that guitar sound.. Best Re:Generation track.
This is so groovy, mellow, and vibrant...I think country mixed with electronic like this can be the new hippie era...you can get high so easily with this song ;p
this song makes my hair stand on end and puts chills up my spine...and who cares if leann rimes is offended pretty lights did what he needed to do to make this track. and it came out awesome!!
d. smith is a genius when it comes to choosing the best sounding samples out of the music he has to work with...truly made this an outstanding track, I tip my fitted to you sir
This is a neat song but sadly the beats and what not drown out the beautifully haunting voice of Dr. Ralph Stanley who is arguably the best part of any song you have the pleasure of hearing him perform.
Pretty Lights made a trip hop type of song. Its really fucking amazing. Watch the full documentary on hulu and see the process they go thru. Pretty incredible. I think Premo and Pretty Lights topped the others by a huge margin. Premo is a musical genius and legend in the underground hip hop world, but pretty lights may be just another great dj to be. Props to them big time!
go to hulu to watch the whole movie and fast forward 45 mins into the movie to watch LeAnn Rimes. She gave me chills. Please release an unfiltered LeAnn Rimes' version!
@musikthroughyoursoul THANK YOU!!!! People have no idea what it takes to map out a song like this and DVS killed it! Never heard Country music sound so GOOD!
The last time I listened to a LeAnn Rimes track that I liked, I was living in Falkirk. Upon my return, she lost all appeal to me. I figured that it was just a phase due to being loved up. But I really really really liked this.
as a country and electronica fan, i can tell you that the two genres are already excitedly intermixing. take a look at most jam band festivals around the country and you will see artists like pretty lights on the lineup. the jams are good, the dancing's fun and the people are great... PLUR=Yeehaw!
This song brings chills to my spine every time I hear it...I SO F--CKING love it..however I wish he never changed the pitch of LeAnns voice...the original way she sung it made me cry!!!! Out of all the DJs in the documentary this one was the best
Mellow, but a beautiful track and composition. Reminiscent of a lot of older Pretty Lights shit, but the vocals from Ralph Stanley are a great addition to his sound.
the song wayfaring stranger is actually an old american folk song from almost 200 yrs ago. Actually listen to the lyrics, because its really a beautiful song. The english musician Ed Sheeran did an excellent cover of this too. Definitely check it out if you have the time.
I listen to the song, end up loving it, then I switch to my iTunes, and realize, I was in the mood for nothing on there. For there was nothing like what I just heard.
Yeah, I was disappointed when I first heard this song because Leann sounds amazing in the documentary. I still think that this is the best track from re:generation but it could have been even more epic with her original voice.
Some blurb that described Pretty Lights as "electronica with a soul" is what got me to stop and listen to his stuff a while back. This is just an affirmation of diversity as food for the spirit. Very cool.
10 years old and this songs still a banger
Pretty Lights is back babyyy
with vengence
I doubt there exists another song in the world like this.
I've never heard country, hip-hop, and electronica fuse like this. ever.
I will never understand why people are arguing over music. Music is to be enjoyed. There are different genres of music and different types of musics. We all aren't going to like the same thing. @@thekimyabhe understands the nuances of the lyrics and style better than anyone

The beauty of connecting decades. Music. Timeless

PL is a genius.
pretty lights is a musical genius. that is all.
This is so groovy, mellow, and vibrant...I think country mixed with electronic like this can be the new hippie era...you can get high so easily with this song ;p
this song makes my hair stand on end and puts chills up my spine...and who cares if leann rimes is offended pretty lights did what he needed to do to make this track. and it came out awesome!!
i feel the emotion he tried to display in this song so dam much. pretty lights is born to do this.
Dramatic expression its sinks right into it, clsoe your eyes and it falls into pieces.
I love everything PL does. Seriously talented.
This guy is a friggin genious!!! Everything he's ever done is PERFECT!
If you enjoy any type of music, Regeneration is definitely something to watch

Pretty Lights is so deep.
Wise words :). By far the best Re:Generation track.
this and premier's tracks were the dopest. leann rimes has an incredible voice.
I would never willingly listen to Country music, but since Pretty Lights is involved, this is an automatic win.
Love this track especially LeAnn Rimes part it almost broke my heart listening to her.
The documentary of this was incredible. For those who havnt seen it go now. Its called RE:GENERATION
This is a neat song but sadly the beats and what not drown out the beautifully haunting voice of Dr. Ralph Stanley who is arguably the best part of any song you have the pleasure of hearing him perform.
his voice gives me goose bumps
RIP Dr Ralph Stanley. You are missed.
Beautiful track, it's got a sense of soul to it that a lot of EDM often misses out on
Best of all the remixes. Hands down.
Chills. every time.
this song gives me chills
youtube really needs an auto-replay button. this track is amazing.
Blues/Jazz and dubstep? Together? Someone give these people a medal.
Damn, re:generation is the best movie about music ever.
BY FAAAAAAAR! Best track.
best regeneration track period. Seamless, beautiful, epic
Just a beautiful track. Pure genius.
The unfiltered version on the movie is so majestic.

Are you up to date of the current iteration of pretty lights ?
go to hulu to watch the whole movie and fast forward 45 mins into the movie to watch LeAnn Rimes. She gave me chills. Please release an unfiltered LeAnn Rimes' version!
@musikthroughyoursoul THANK YOU!!!! People have no idea what it takes to map out a song like this and DVS killed it! Never heard Country music sound so GOOD!
love me some pretty lights, cant wait to see him live again and tripping
So interesting to read the comments and see the debate of who did better, but all of them changed how people listen to music at least for me

Lovely track.
This is a Pure Artists music.
OMG! Very high & chill track! Love it!!! Just perfect
My favorite track of them all, I think. I really love this a lot.
Pretty Lights NYE was so sick... Amazing track
Pretty Lights is really good, and the country aspect provided by Leann Rimes and Ralpha Stanley (description) bring an interesting feel to the song.
for the genre he had to mix with i'd say pretty lights had the hardest. for it to turn out like this takes some talent. Mad skills. Pretty lights +1
he remixed country roads which was pretty bomb
I am so in love with this song
this is perfect. I'm feeling a pink floyd vibe too. love love!
The last time I listened to a LeAnn Rimes track that I liked, I was living in Falkirk. Upon my return, she lost all appeal to me. I figured that it was just a phase due to being loved up. But I really really really liked this.
Takes Me back
you know those chills you get when you hear an unreleased song you heard at a show? not gettin em....he did it dirtier
This makes me want a Veloster a lot more now.
RESPECT.
I can appreciate this!
all of the hyundia music was great- the skrillex, this, dj premiers, and the rest
as a country and electronica fan, i can tell you that the two genres are already excitedly intermixing. take a look at most jam band festivals around the country and you will see artists like pretty lights on the lineup. the jams are good, the dancing's fun and the people are great... PLUR=Yeehaw!

This is actually very well composed and produced
Pretty Lights is so damn chill...
Very awesome music. Thank you!
hell yeah! amazing!
for all the country folks
I absolutely love this. I am sorry I ever doubted country music.
mind blown!
Yeah he killed it. Sort of reminds me of the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack with some techno.
Great song!
This man can do no wrong. Makes me consider listening to more country..
This is fire!
was hopin for more wobbles, but this is super chill

SO GOOD, cant wait for the electric version

This song brings chills to my spine every time I hear it...I SO F--CKING love it..however I wish he never changed the pitch of LeAnns voice...the original way she sung it made me cry!!!! Out of all the DJs in the documentary this one was the best
RALPH STANLEY is MUSIC !!!
Definitely check it out if you have the time.
this is clean
just watched re:generation, this song came out soo sweet! derek needs to learn how to interact with old people though
Damn! Thats awesome!
I listen to the song, end up loving it, then I switch to my iTunes, and realize, I was in the mood for nothing on there. For there was nothing like what I just heard.

Sounds like something that would be in a movie like a futuristic western or a game like Fallout. I like it.
NO DOUBT OF IT.
this is sick but I can't wait for the remix, I bet it's bangin
WE WANT MORE>>>>>
Yeah, I was disappointed when I first heard this song because Leann sounds amazing in the documentary. I still think that this is the best track from re:generation but it could have been even more epic with her original voice.
agree
nice i didnt think country could go with pretty lights at all. I was wrong!
doesnt matter what it is if skrillex touches it its going to be FIRE
sick
No other edm producer uses lyrics better than pretty lights
Some blurb that described Pretty Lights as "electronica with a soul" is what got me to stop and listen to his stuff a while back. This is just an affirmation of diversity as food for the spirit. Very cool.
He wanted their vocals to blend in well together and not make it seam like 1+1=2. This is simply how he envisioned it to be a great song.
