As a boy and through to my teen years I frequently stayed and visited Southend. Watching this brought back many memories, some things I recognize much else I do not. There used to be all the fun-of-the-fair at the Kurzaal, a wax-works on a mock-up of (I think) the Golden Hind, Peter Pans Playground with Neverland Gardens (?) opposite. There was also a circuit of small racing cars. I also remember, on leaving the railway station, we walked past a large general store named Dixons. Great times and great memories.
Hey Eurasia how are you. This was really good. I have been to Southend once or twice. looks like its changed there a bit walked up the mile long pier. I would recommend doing coach tours in the area it would be nice to see some of it again. I went on national express from Nottingham Victoria to London Victoria then got a coach to Southend see if they still do that mate.
@@thisiszaphod I'm speachless! I wonder how much that cost the rate payers? And I bet the people who lived in the flats oposite loved having their view of the sea destroyed by such insane nonsence.
