Every time I bank fish I bring a bag to pick up all the trash people left behind. I know you are on the river and most of that stuff floated in. The spots I fish, 95% of the trash is left by the people fishing. I can't stand to look at fast food bags, soda bottles, worm boxes, shiner band, and so on while I am trying to enjoy nature. I am not too far north of you. People are just trashy here. It isn't just the bank fisherman. People throw their garbage from their boats onto the ground when they pick up. It is mostly the younger guys and illegals doing it.
Good to see you on the river again. When I lived in NO (left in '96), I caught, on liver, the largest channel cat of my life (guessing around 35 - 40 lbs, by the heft), on Bayou St. John, across from the now defunct JFK High School, on one of those flat rocks that make a good perch, off of Wisner. It was after midnight, and the only witnesses were the empty beer cans.
Those milk cartons are going for $45 Can on Amazon so interesting garbage in the high water mark finding an original that'll take a vinyl albums getting harder & harder to find too
Just a note of thanks my friend. I'm an old disabled geezer, a cancer victim. That stuff sucks but the great part is every time I watch you go fishing it feels me with joy, and the strength to take my 12 year old grandson fishing. I can never repay you my friend.
That walking stick was cool looking. I almost want it
