Best product I ever used for towing. RAS is the first thing I put on my 2016 F150. My wife even noticed how well it towed after I put them on. Thanks guys keep up the great vids.
Had them on 2020 with max tow for 1 yr. Only difference when not towing is over rough railroad tracks, improved side to side body roll and head toss. Towing-big difference pulling 32ft travel trailer, same reasons you mentioned.
Been using RAS for over 10 years on multiple F-150's towing two Airstreams 1st 26' and now a 28', I have towed all over America. They are the best! Next week installing the set I took off my 2018 trade on my new 2021 F-150 4X4 Hybird Limited. On the F-150's I have owned since 2010 till present, some had Max tow and some did not, they were all 4X4 and like on my limited where MaxTow is NOT an option RAS will be very much welcomed for towing. When towing and as well solo, RAS gives a solid "race car" feel by almost eliminating body roll while cornering. In Love for over a decade. Highly recommend
Hey, how do you still like your powerboost? I'm looking at getting a 2021 powerboost hybrid and I have a camper that's about 7,800lb loaded. I was worried about fuel mpg towing that weight. I'm hoping it gets better Than 11 mpg. I'm also thinking about a new f250 diesel tremor. Any information would be great. Thank you.
Really appreciate your unbiased, thorough and informative review. Definitely helps me making this purchase. I have a 2018 F150 Max Tow and I tow a 35' TT. I've towed 40,000 miles across 38 states and 9 provinces. Sounds like these will make a noticeable improvement and benefit towing greatly. Thank you for your videos.
Those are cool!!! We go all over the U S with our camper behind us!!! Made a weight sway hitch toss that sway bar in the shop I don't need it anymore!! Like what ya have on your pickup!! Like how you say ride is good!! Oh on my Chevy Pickup i turned the head of tongue jack sideways so i can open the trail gate when hooked up to camper!! Its real easy to do the holes are already there to turn the head!! Don't have to turn whole jack just the head!! Have fun out there!!!
"RAS" - I bought the HD for my 2015 F150. Absolutely a big improvement on my 6 year old truck. Biggest thing I noticed without load was it eliminated wheel hop. Under load while towing was the icing on the cake. So glad I spent the extra on the HD version for my camper. Great channel guys!
It absolutely still helps. Getting a few hundred pounds off of the hitch and helping to keep the rear end higher doesn't hurt at all. The spring rate under load is still increased and helps keep the load more stable and controllable. A weight distribution hitch should be used in conjunction with the RAS if possible.
"RAS". We just got a 5300lb Travel trailer for family camping and these seem like they would help the ride of our 2019 so much. We are within weights but I feel like this could improve stability and safety. Thanks for doing this giveaway and the real world testing. Take care guys.
I got the exact same Falcon shocks set up with RAS on my 21 Lariat Powerboost after watching both of your videos. I’m so happy that I went with this set up and it was exactly what I was looking for in ride and tow quality. Keep up the awesome videos!
Quick question, when you installed them which gap did you set springs to? Kit comes with two gap setting discs, a thinner one for a 25% increase and one which is thicker for a 50% increase. Just curious, so I can use your video as a benchmark. Great channel. Thank you.
Thanks for watching Nathan! Mine are set with the thinner washer. I also am running the standard version and not the hd. I'm towing 5,000+/- lbs. I've also got the Falcon shocks with a more substantial rebound and stiffness. The lowest setting on the RAS works great with my setup. I would guess that anyone towing more than 5,000 pounds would want to move up to the stiffer setting. Remember the stiffer they are the more they will affect your driving experience. I only have noise from the setup when I hit a speed bump going pretty fast or, maybe a large pothole. The stiffer you go the more likely you will run into that situation.
Hallelujah, Guys!! Excellent review! In fact, this is the best video on this subject that I have seen on youtube, so far, and I have been searching diligently on this subject for the last 3 months, afraid to actually pull the trigger on purchasing any particular product, though. Like you mentioned, so many gimmicks and less than spectacular products out there. I have a 2005 2WD 4.6L F-150 SUPER CAB (with only 72K original miles) that has a maximum tow capacity of 6800 lbs, which is fine for my purposes. I just want to be able to tow a 5800 lb custom enclosed Cargo trailer, no more than 250 miles each way, about 4 times a year. Stock, the way it is now, won't cut it. All I want to do is beef up my stock truck so that it can more easily and safely pull the maximum weight that this truck is rated to pull...no more. So, after watching this video, I'm thinking just a great set of Bilstein shocks (I can't afford those Falcon's that you have), the Roadmaster Active Suspension system, a $200 +/- level kit, and a good weight distribution system should cut it. Would it also be worth it to add a better bump stop with these improvements, as well? Thank you boys (said with respect) for posting this video. Viewed, liked, and subscribed!
"RAS" I first saw this on an add on Instagram. I was considering eiether air bags or the "RAS" system when my 2022 F-150 Super Crew 4x4 comes in. Build date is April 25th, 2022. This review by you guys made my decision final on getting the "RAS" system. Thank you for a solid honest review.
My 2021 F 150 is leveled, and I’m worried that the roadmaster springs would lift the back when the truck is not loaded. That would defeat the point of the leveling kit. At that point it makes more sense to remove the leveling kit as opposed to lifting the back.
You guys definitely have awesome content. Looking forward to the next one as always. I have a 22’ 197BH getting built as i’m writing this and can’t wait to take it on a stroll and land it at the beach and enjoy the day with a few cold ones and the family. Cheers to your continued success guys.
RAS. You guys really are putting out quality content. I wont lie, i'm mostly here for the new f150, but i love seeing the other car stuff as well now. Thanks guys
I'd be interested to see what your thoughts are on the Hellwig helper springs. I installed them on a previous gen F150. They improved the squat greatly when towing, but the ride is definitely firmer and almost jarring when empty. I think that is partially due to the way they have to be installed on my truck. In the directions, you are not supposed to torque down the clamps at the outer most points where they mount to the stock leaf springs, which would make the empty ride better, as you would not be putting much pressure on the stock leafs. But I discovered (ask me how) that if you don't torque them down, the helper springs contact the frame when you have a heavy load on them. I contacted the Hellwig and they confirmed they need to be torqued down due to clearance issues, but I am wondering if that problem has been cured with the current gen F150. Good review of the RAS!
Are you sure you have the Heavy-Duty Payload package? That's what gives you the 9.75 rear end, different leaf springs etc. Not the max tow package. The ordering guide also says that it's only available on the XL, XLT Standard and XLT Mid. Plus if you had the HD Payload then your payload should be higher than 1743lbs.
I heard they can make noises as the springs constantly stretch and contract. I have timbrens but as you say they make it more bumpy when they hit the stop. Squad 1.5inches towing 6k.
RAS! Love the channel👏 love the honesty and it’s just on time to help me with my build. I just ordered the Falcon sport tow/hauls yesterday with wheels and tires to help me tow my large wakeboard boat and go off-road. Keep this great content coming !
Just started following you guys and subscribed today. Thanks for all the information and your honesty. Would love to get a set of the RAS to put on my 2021 Lariat. Keep up the great videos.
Hey guys - using laws of physics, need you to explain how stiffening the rear suspension puts more weight on the front axel. At the 7:00-8:00 min segment you suggest it will have less effect on the front axel while applying the same pressure (tongue weight) to the hitch. That's a head scratcher - unless you've made some adjustment to the WDH.
If you have more squat in the rear, the front suspension is unloaded and the weight of the front is tilted more towards the back changing the center of gravity on the truck. Also, when a vehicle has more squat, the trailer it is towing is in most cases tilted downwards more, causing more of the trailer weight to be on the rear axle, and less of the trailer weight being distributed to the axles on the trailer itself. As far as physics are concerned, think of it this way. Where you position the weight of the load matters and that greatly affects the driving dynamics. Keeping the truck sitting flatter moves the weight into position to be moved more efficiently. You are correct, a weight distribution hitch is made to help distribute that tongue weight more evenly, but just moving the load itself to a more neutral position helps as well. Also getting the front suspension into a more neutral position so it can do its work helps tremendously. In my personal experience, there is almost no porpoising when I hit a bump with my particular setup after installing the RAS.
I agree here. One thing I did notice was the WDH bars pointing downward downward. This releases some of the tension on the bars, thus less weight distribution to the front. Readjust the bars, and total setup, to make them as level as possible with the trailer frame. Not saying they won't help, especially with a just a heavy load in the bed, but really not an accurate test. 2023 GMC Sierra 4x4 with zero front lift with a level 8.5x24x7' CTC and a Husky Centerline TC.
RAS I HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS PRODUCT BUT WAS UNSURE TILL I WATCH YOU'RE VIDEO. i have 2021 lariat f 150 love the truck hate the squat. Thank you for this video
I used the standard set and only have them on the lowest setting. It didn't affect ride height. I suppose the tighter you make them it would start to raise the back end up a bit. Both are great products but if I had to pick just one I would definitely get the falcons.
"RAS"...just a little late!! I'm glad to run across this video cause I've been trying to figure out how to improve my 2020 F-150 pulling the camper. Buy ras, airbags, shocks or stiffer sway bar? So many options!! I've bought timbrens and just got new 10 ply tires.
RAS Also thought these would be a gimmick product. Been looking at what to do for suspension beef ups for towing a camper. Thought airbags, but those are spendy. Thought Sumo springs, but after hearing your opinions I'm leaning hard to the RAS set up. 2021 F150 Powerboost Sport 4x4 Max Tow
Just found your channel, really like the review of the RAS. Just put them on this past weekend wish I would have known of the promo code for RAS. It's cool this channel I think is going to be the better pay off!
“RAS”, don’t have an F150 but want to support the channel. My brother in law does have a 2021 Lariat 4x4 silver so he will be the lucky winner at the end. Thks!
You prefer the look of the f150 or better gas mileage not hauling? The f250's seem to be the way to go if your having to do all that stuff. The 6.2L trucks are getting pretty cheap.
My plan all along was to supercharge the 5.0. I prefer the looks of the F-150 and the size. Sure the f250 can tow more but it's also a bigger heavier vehicle and not as fast or fun to drive.
RAS, very informative video, I have a 2916 F 150 crew cab 6" lift 35 tires.. Same weight distribution hitch... Pull No Boundaries 19.1 toy hauler.... FOX after market shocks.... Those RAS would work great on my rig...👍
"RAS" would be great for my newer "used" 2011 F150 that I purchased a month ago to pull my camper. It would also be a great birthday present since my birthday is on June 12!
I have the standard duty and I set it on the lowest settings. You can always crank it up if you need to but I would start on the low side for daily drivability. The more you crank these up the more you're going to feel them. I also have the much stiffer Falcon suspension setup but the RAS really did blow my mind how well it helps with towing. It helps in areas that stiffer shocks just can't compete.
Hey guys, I know this is an older video, but I hope you see this comment and either know the answer or can help me find out. I have a new F150 Tremor being delivered next month. I was planning on putting the Falcon Tow/Haul shocks on it to level it out and give it better tow performance. The issue is, the lift kit and tuning from Ford makes it very difficult to find any lift kits that work with the Tremor and Raptor, since they share a lot of the tech and setup. I don't want to put spacers on because every reputable source that understands Tremors state it will reduce off-road performance by quite a bit. Shocks are obviously the best route, but I can only find one setup that specifically states they made a version for the Tremors, and that is Rough Country. I called Falcon and spoke with one of their CSR's and he said their Falcon 2.5" Tow/Haul kit would fit and work on the Tremor. But their website does not state that, and I can't find anywhere something posted about someone putting it on their F150 Tremor. Your thoughts?
I hope you fellas answer questions….. do those Falcon shocks improve the ride over stock in that F150 when you’re not towing? I mean, assuming you’ve dialled both sides down to driving around empty? Are they better than the FX4 crap Ford sells? I’m about to buy a new Lariat and I’m not sure I want their FX4 crap if these are a better option. I don’t off-road but I do camp once and awhile.
"RAS" I'm definitely intrigued by this product. I would love to install these on my truck to improve hauling my rv more safely. Great job with the review guys!
@@BackroadDriver what’s the hitch weight on your trailer? Did the truck sag before the RAS? I will have around an 800 tongue weight with a wdh and the falcon set up. Since I have a PB will less payload I’m thinking about the HD version.
Have been considering the RAS kit for a couple months. I think I’m pulling the trigger. Been watching several vids. Yours is great. I know I’m late to the party and don’t fit mine. But you helped me decide. Is it OK I have a 21 Silverado 1500 and like your video. 🙂.
“RAS” I’ve been interested in either these or bags to assist in towing my travel trailer and after watching this video I am convinced these would work better for me. Keep making great videos guys
Thanks for watching William! Check out this link to the video where I installed the wheels and tires. All the information you're looking for should be there. ruclips.net/video/YaRCq4ncbrs/видео.html
Hey guys! Purchased a set and can’t find much info using them with a weight distribution hitch. Did you use the black or white shim when setting them up? Thanks guys, love the videos
RAS I have a 21 f150. I have been on the fence with the sumo springs and air bags. You guys just sold me on theses ras. Great video. Love the honest opinions!
Everyone watching this video smiles when you almost said beef up your towing capacity, because we know that’s the real reason most people are watching this video. 😂
Waiting for my custom ordered 2021 F150 Lariat, in antimatter blue, to escape the semi-conductor lock-down and make its way to my dealer. Love watching you guys and your tips and reviews. After your Roadmaster Active suspension review I definately will be adding a set of the active suspension parts to my new truck. Thanks for the review. Would be even better if I won your RAS giveaway!!!!
Loved the falcon video but all the reviews I've seen say they start to really squeek and you have to constantly grease them. You guys had any issues? (Colder, wetter weather up here in Canada)
Over 8,000 miles on them with no issues at all. I've seen the same reviews where people say they were making noise as well. I've never had that problem. I have taken the truck on several high-speed trail rides and I've towed my camper quite a bit. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

@@stangindude99 I used the thicker shim. You can always start with the smaller shim and adjust it up or down. I do use a weight distribution hitch.
@@agpuremi8132 awesome thank you! I wasn’t sure if a properly setup wdh would cancel it out or if they would still help with body roll while towing

35 tires..
Same weight distribution hitch...
Pull No Boundaries 19.1 toy hauler....
FOX after market shocks....
Those RAS would work great on my rig...👍
You must be driving a space ship 2916 F150
"RAS" would be great for my newer "used" 2011 F150 that I purchased a month ago to pull my camper. It would also be a great birthday present since my birthday is on June 12!
“RAS”. Thanks guys , your helping me figure out how I want to set up my 2021
Anytime David!
How do these compare to just airbags?
I have the same truck and probably the same trailer weight. Do I need the standard duty or the heavy duty Suspension kit?
I have the standard duty and I set it on the lowest settings. You can always crank it up if you need to but I would start on the low side for daily drivability. The more you crank these up the more you're going to feel them. I also have the much stiffer Falcon suspension setup but the RAS really did blow my mind how well it helps with towing. It helps in areas that stiffer shocks just can't compete.
heard about these, great to see real live action of the "RAS" thanks
"RAS" You have sold me on the need to have these on my F150 Max Tow F150. Thanks
RAS - my 2016 F150 needs this mod. Thanks for the great review.
“RAS” would love to put these on my 2021 Ford Platinum.
Wow you have a platinum
"RAS" I WOULD LIKE TO WIN A SET.. YA BOY
“RAS” Was looking at these before and thought they’d be gimmicky as well. Glad to see they’re legit. GBO! V4L!
Ras sound like looks like something that would work for my truck 👍👍👍😎
"RAS" I'm definitely intrigued by this product. I would love to install these on my truck to improve hauling my rv more safely. Great job with the review guys!
Did you pick the HD version with the black disc? Also how did this affect your level? The RAS typically raises the back end.
These are the non HD on a light setting and didn’t affect the level.
@@BackroadDriver what’s the hitch weight on your trailer? Did the truck sag before the RAS? I will have around an 800 tongue weight with a wdh and the falcon set up. Since I have a PB will less payload I’m thinking about the HD version.
Did you get the HD or the regular RAS? Thanks!
I have the standard RAS. Thanks for watching Stephen!
Love your exhaust sound! I'm wondering what exhaust is on your truck? Thanks!
Here's a link to the exhaust video. ruclips.net/video/vxbwEkiLIIA/видео.html
Have been considering the RAS kit for a couple months. I think I’m pulling the trigger. Been watching several vids. Yours is great. I know I’m late to the party and don’t fit mine. But you helped me decide.
Is it OK I have a 21 Silverado 1500 and like your video. 🙂.
Absolutely!
Did your truck still ride as smooth with these road masters on without towing anything?
Did you watch the video?
It is very smooth.
RAS is interesting. Guess parking in the fast lane with an RV is acceptable back east.
Great video, with some honest comments by you both. Something that I will definitely be looking at for my 2022 F150
“RAS” I’ve been interested in either these or bags to assist in towing my travel trailer and after watching this video I am convinced these would work better for me. Keep making great videos guys
What rims are on your truck? I’m looking to order a F150 in space white as well.
Venomrex 602. Check out the video in Sam’s full build playlist.
Looks like a good mod. I'd be willing to bet RAS also improves braking distance and clean acceleration. 👍
RAS love the look of your truck can you tell me what size wheels and offsets tires and rim manufacturer
Thanks for watching William! Check out this link to the video where I installed the wheels and tires. All the information you're looking for should be there. ruclips.net/video/YaRCq4ncbrs/видео.html
“RAS” these would be great for my honeymoon trip. We are towing 3400 miles across the country with our 22’ Jayco camper.
I have sumo springs on my truck and love it .ride with no load is normal
Max Tow with the Baby Mirrors. . . I still prefer the Big Boy Towing Mirrors.
Oh well to each his own. You only use the big mirrors while you're towing, and that's got to be 5% of your time or less probably.
RAS - just picked up my truck 2018 F150 max towing package and towing a Jayco. Would love to win them! Great video
Hey guys! Purchased a set and can’t find much info using them with a weight distribution hitch. Did you use the black or white shim when setting them up? Thanks guys, love the videos
Still loving the same identical truck and thanks for testing these mods I've done a couple already and this one will be next.
RAS. I appreciate your help on desiding which setup but still wondering whether the standard duty or heavy duty to get.
RAS I have a 21 f150. I have been on the fence with the sumo springs and air bags. You guys just sold me on theses ras. Great video. Love the honest opinions!
That exhaust sounds perfect
It purrs…
RAS- looking into these for my 19' f150
“RAS” for my 2020 SCREW. Shows us the squat numbers like the falcon setup vid. Rear well center to road. Thanks.
Duh! We should have done that. We will probably show that when we announce the winner. Thanks for watching!
RAS … liked what I saw , will be checking them out for my Ram diesel 👍👍
Everyone watching this video smiles when you almost said beef up your towing capacity, because we know that’s the real reason most people are watching this video. 😂
You guys are GREAT, “RAS”!
Thanks Rod!
"RAS" are the best suspensions for trailer towing. BIG TIME!
Will the RAS work on lifted trucks?
I would call Roadmaster and talk about your specific setup.
What an outstanding setup. What bumpstop did you use since both RAS and falcon use their own?
I used the Falcon bump stops. Thanks for watching!
RAS for my 2020 Powerstroke F150 travel trailer hauler
Waiting for my custom ordered 2021 F150 Lariat, in antimatter blue, to escape the semi-conductor lock-down and make its way to my dealer. Love watching you guys and your tips and reviews. After your Roadmaster Active suspension review I definately will be adding a set of the active suspension parts to my new truck. Thanks for the review. Would be even better if I won your RAS giveaway!!!!
"RAS"! Sounds like the real deal. Thanks for the review boys.
RAS will work great on my 2021 that I have ordered. Thanks again for the video.
RAS. I e seen a few others talk about these. Good to get your take on them as well!
“RAS” - intrigued by the video. Would love to win a set to try em out and tell my buddies how well they work!
🤣🤣 I can just imagine all the dishes and other items sliding around and falling out of cabinets.
Is Sam's f150 supercharged it just sounds so good
It's not supercharged yet.....
Just got a set from Summit after seeing your review. Thank you for everything you guys do.
What are your tires? are they "E" rated? hows the ride?
RAS these would be awesome for my 2016 while towing my boat or camper! Thanks for the video!
RAS! Thanks for the review just brought a new 2023 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 off road, with a 3.5 Eco- boost engine. Purchasing a Wolf Pack 25pack12 toy hauler RV. Do you think the F-150 can handle towing the RV? Thanks! Al
Thanks Mizer brothers for another informative video on equipment that can actually make every day driving better. RAS baby RAS!!!!
Cross my chains is the new grinds my gears🤣. You know what really crosses my chains?!… 😂
Heck yeah!
