BRO!! How do you only have 439 subscribers??? Your work is so good! Very knowledgable in your craft and the amount of details you put into your photos and videos are incredible. Keep it up, wishing you all the best!
Great video! I love how you show the photo from the position you took the photo. I am shooting a music festival in 2 weeks - the first time as an official photographer of the festival. (I shot my first festival by bringing my gear, but wasn't official - it was a lot smaller festival though). I'm so excited to get a media pass and see how it all works. I guess the angles and what works is a lot of trial and error - we shall see! Your video definitely helped put me at ease! Thank you
Shooting my first festival Saturday great video bro really insightful and helpful and the set up of the video showing lens changing and what settings used. Brilliant job gained a follower and a subscriber
love these videos :) I'm studying to become a cameraoperator but besides that I want to get into artist and event photography. Right now I have a sony a7iii with a 50mm prime, im looking into purchasing a zoom lens. these videos are very helpful. I just watched another guy who walks around the venue with three cameras and has a fourth remote controlled one on stage etc. etc. bit too expensive and overwhelming. this is very helpful (and entertaining)
this video was very good please continue with this content. In addition to being fun, for me as a beginner to the niche, it helps me to better understand event photography. congratulations for the video bro
excellent video bro!. I recently discovered your channel and the truth is that I love it, keep it up and now I'll wait for the next video, greetings from Argentina
Love the video! I was wondering if u could do a vid for complete beginners, i’ve got my first gig in a few weeks & i’ve never shot one before so i don’t really know what i can and can’t do in a venue.
@@BobbyVMedia Thank you! that would be amazing, a lot of people have done videos on what to do before you get to a concert, like how to reach out to the pr teams and getting a photo pass but no one has said what to do when you get there, it would be so helpful if could you do like a run through of how things usually work when photographing a concert e.g. when to arrive, collecting the photo pass, equipment.
Really great video and very informative particularly with the shot settings after each photo. One question I have is in relation to focus settings. Assume you are using continuous auto focus and single point???
@@BobbyVMedia man when you visit come to my place from our hill you can see nearly all of the alps and the jura its perfect for long landscape photographie and with our animals you can make some real awesome stuff
Just stumbled over your account and I love it! I‘m a photographer myself, and really like your pictures and the perspectives. Do you have any tips how to get started in festival/concert photography? How do you get your contracts?
Hey, thanks for the kind words!! Keep going, you’ve got this!! My best tip with getting clients is to shoot as much as you can, take your camera to gigs and get a good portfolio, email promoters, bands, tour managers etc’
I absolutely love ur video!! I wonder if you can make one talking about how to get gigs? Bcs I’m just beginner and got no portion or idea on how to get gigs. It'd be rly nice to learn how to do those things
Hey, thank you so much for the kind words and sorry for the late reply!! The best tips I would have for getting gigs is to create a good portfolio and email as many people related to the gig you want to shoot, from promoters to tour managers, venue, band etc! Good luck :)
I'm going this weekend for my first photoshoot festival music 90's and can't wait for new experience. I don't have any zoom lens only prime's 20mm, 35mm, 85mm and 105mm you think they will be ok ?
Eyyyy, good stuff! Good luck with it! I think you'll be good with the focal lenghts you've got! It'll be a bit hard without a zoom but I'm sure you'll manage, What I'd do is shoot the first song with the 85 / 35 and then use the rest for the second and third, for crowd shots use the wides and for people shots use the 85 / 105! You've got this!! Good luck
@@BobbyVMedia thx! i have an upcoming festival in my city and i've been rejected a few times already but gonna start emailing some of the smaller artists' management
i love this video so much, because it gives great insight, I probably wouldn't get if you didn't make it. So big thanks for that! :) Why did you select some photos in your camera and pre edited them on your phone? Isn't there a loss in quality? I am just starting off with concert photography and I am trying to find the best workflow for me rn
Appreciate the kind words! :) That's what I was aiming for when I created this video so I'm very glad it helped you out!! You're right, there is a loss in quality when I edit the photos on my phone, sometimes I do it because my clients want the photos as soon as possible, other times because I want to roughly see how the photos would look edited before I go home and import them into lightroom. Good luck on your concert photography journey! :)
so low mm wide angle shots..high mm zoomed in shots. atm i use a 25mm and a 50mm i notice you had a 66mm and a 75mm to zoom in even more. and a 33mm? i didnt realize they made lenses in such random measurements lol.
1:15 hey, im amateur in this thing called photography (lol) and i was wondering, did you cut this picture? to zoom better? or this is the picture just edited without crops?
Depends on what your camera is capable of! Personally I always use auto focus, only in the absolute rarest situations where my camera has no light to focus on do I switch to manual focus.
I must say, this is not the way too shoot a festival. Where is the vibe and feeling of the festival. Be in the audiance. Be the audiance. The time you take a break you miss alot of good shots. It`s better to observe first and shoot then. I see alot of misstakes.
I love that you put all your settings in each shot. I wish more photography RUclipsrs did that

Invest in a monopod and wireless trigger. So you can snap photo on high view in the middle of the crowd.
Keep posting this kind of videos, its so inspiring 👌👌

how many photos do you take per shot? sounds like a machine gun :D,
handy, then you always have a good photo for that "frame" moment.
All nice bands. still better bands then in The Netherlands.
Hi, i have same selection of lenses but i can only take one for the festival as well. Would you recommend 16-35 gm or 28-75?
any tips for people trying to get photo passes for concerts and/or festivals?
The best way is to email the promoter, venue, artist. Or you can email a magazine. And ask if they need coverage.

Hey, just a little question... No ND Filter ?
How many photos do you typically keep to use for the event ?
Does the media pass get you anywhere you want without questions?

hey man just wondering do I put it on high raw burst mode or low continous?
Auto focus mode or manual focus which would you prefer the most during night concert photography??
Depends on what your camera is capable of! Personally I always use auto focus, only in the absolute rarest situations where my camera has no light to focus on do I switch to manual focus.
@@BobbyVMedia Thank you🙏
so you take photos in burst mode ?
I do indeed! I find shooting burst is the best way to capture the action. Don’t want to risk missing the moment!
hi, what lens did you use in this shot 10:19?
What software do you use to edit your pictures?
nice vlog bob.. greeting from indonesia 🇮🇩

How did you get into these festivals? Is it applying or being selected?
Most of the time someone reaches out to me and asks If i’m available! But for some festivals you have to apply!
How do i perform at one of these 😂❤🎉

OKay first off, super cool photos but secondly you say "gotta go shoot the headliners" like its not KHRUANGBIN
