I would open that timber canopy , have a good logger come in and cut the mature timber 25 inches around and up and just mark a white oak every 150 yards that’s decent size , but anything else above 25 inches around I would let them cut , just make sure they clean up all the logging roads or certain spots you want to hunt in, an have them do 1-3 clear cuts on the property in different areas of property , it will create tons of forage per acre, tons of bedding , tons of turkey nesting areas , tons of wildlife will love it , we got r land done and we now get 30 bucks on just our 40 acres , it has helped a ton , and we see triple the amount of wildlife , yes it may not look pretty with left over tree tops in spots but what looks ugly to u is what looks like heaven to a whitetail and other wildlife , trust me it will amaze u how muvh it improves the property , u get tons of woody browse per acre , tons of green forage per acre , the standing oaks that didn’t get cut will produce double the tonnage , due to less tree competition and being able to expand its branches more and the tree tops that are left over break down over time and is good for the soil , it’s just like a garden u have to harvest it , just like woods , it’s recommended to get ur timber cut every so many years because if not you start gaining dead trees , and ones that are hollow , I would find a good logger like I did , they made me two food plot areas , cleaned up the logging roads after they was done and made me a few clear cuts , I would definitely look in to it if I was u , you will be improving Wildlife habitat while also getting money in your pocket , I wouldn’t of had my land cut if it was gana cause wildlife to not be there or cause any harm for wildlife , I did it to improve it , the 250 acres I hunt on got logged also and we had roughly 60 bucks on the land this year so far , or heck even only cut it in sections , due half the property now and half the property in 5 years or divide it in 3 cuttings for every 5 years , if the property is over 150 acres, trust me it’s more attractive then a food plot even

U should make more kill plots and at least 1 with clover
