no joke, my psa 4 base set charizard gets more attention than my moonbreon or any of my other cards.
Thoughts on espeon vmax from fusion strike? I bought it recently with store credit, not too concerned about it holding value but would it be considered a high end card?

I’d love to see a video on some of your favorite mid-high range cards in the $30-$100 or $30-$150 range. I’ve been collecting cards nearly my whole life and even I have never spent more than $200 on a single card (most I’ve ever spent is $120). $200+ seems a bit high for most ppl new to the hobby but I know everyone is different and has different discretionary incomes
Should of mention the Kanazawa Pikachu promo 147. I know it’s not 200$ price market but I do believe that card is good to hold.

My first single card purchased was the “Mew Tube” card. It’s currently out to be graded. I know it won’t be a 10, probably more around an 8, but I more so just wanted to get it slabbed for safe keeping as a reminder of the first purchase I made

Another great card is the Japanese Pikachu from the precious collector's box! Love that artwork, and it really embodies the whole era.
Just what I was looking for! Stocks and bonds are a given but sometimes I just want something fun like collectors items.

Love your channel, but videos like this are so strange to me.
My advice to any new collectors: If you're not trying to be an "investor bro", simply collect the cards you enjoy. Also, you'll save a ton of money by not falling victim to PSA 10 madness. I've seen several clean, pack-fresh copies that somehow exist in the 7-9 range. If you demand graded cards, CGC (and probably a few other companies) have way nicer slabs. Better yet, seek out nice clean copies and maintain a sweet binder collection. Collecting doesn't always have to be bogged down by investing.
Jake I have to ask why you didn't mention the Pikachu when discussing the Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise promos? It is arguably the most desirable (or tied with the charizard for it) of the 4 piece set.

@TwicebakedJake Fair enough. It would have been just over the 1k limit for this list in a PSA 10, but PSA 9 is in the $250-$350 range and 9s were mentioned as cost effective alternatives for the other 2. Wasn't sure if it was omitted for any other reason other than price.
I like this video. There is one high end card I want for my collection. The card that would make my life is Alt Art Umbreon VMAX(Moonbreon), GM Mint PSA 10. If I can acquire that card it would be fantastic. I have The Yunagaba Umbreon in a PSA 10. I also have the original Umbreon VMax in 10 as well. I have the Alt Art Umbreon V in a raw card. I love Umbreon .The Moonbreon is my Dream card.

May I suggested different videos on high entry level cards but different types for there own separate videos like just ones on supporter card, holos, non holo, IR, SIR and Full arts etc. By the way I have to disagree on the Mewtwo gx for the reasons you mentioned alone were the reason why cos it falls in line with what I'm typically after and funny enough it's my first high end slab 😂 so far because a full art can sometime stand on it's own on already busy display shelf. Plus I'm kinda Mewtwo fan😊
Edit: Though I do agree at that price i guess you can get other ones for better value.
My first edition Dark Charizard is the most memorable pull from my childhood. It feels good that this overlooked Charizard is getting some love from Jake.

you should have mentioned the Pokémon center pikachu promos and the battle festa promos or the munch promos. Ive been trying to collect those recently all in PSA 10 and they are so beautiful
Im gonna start saving for a dark card in a 10! The dark slowbro holo, i think its so pretty and like you said, its a centerpiece for sure!

One of my favourite cards is a card I don’t even care for.
I purchased the espeon VMAX JP promo in PSA 10. Buyee had a 20% off coupon as well so literally a bargain.
I saw it before release and I had to have it!

They're from Amazon, super cheap. You can find plenty of graded display stands online.

It'll depend on the marketplace and where you're located. It's always best to use your own judgement on listings.
Jake , I need an expert opinion . Is it better to buy slabs off EBay or is there a trusted online market better
If the slab is over $250 it'll be authenticated by Ebay before being shipped to you. You see an "Authenticity Guaranteed" on listings with this

Not a collector or much in the scene even at all so I'm sorry if this is a silly question haha;
Does anyone remember a full art silver and white snow or rain themed card that had a light coloured bipedal pokemon on it, I think the pokemon was just kinda standing there not doing an action pose or anything, Jake pulled it out of a pack recently and I totally forgot to make note of which video it was! But it was a gorgeous card!

I whole heartedly disagree with buying a non holo psa 10 for over 200 WHEN there is a holo variant available.
Are those entry level?
@@TwicebakedJake It depends on which ones you go after really, you can pickup most of the gold stars for under 1k in NM condition. obviously not 10s. Same with crystals and same with shinings especially unlims
I love how bunch of these cards are much cheaper in other languages.
