this format is becoming more and more interesting. And the translators are absolute beasts. They managed to refer to a child's TV show us overseas viewers wouldn't recognize by using sesame street instead to get the point across without losing comical value
If you're curious, I'm pretty sure VTJ Clips is responsible for the translations. I believe they submit the translations and it's up to the official channel to review, edit and accept them.

Most of the time these are clippers from the community that have been brought in to work on actual translations

Did polka pick up on and translate what the English speaking kid was saying by herself? That’s incredible if true. I know she’s been working hard on her English on and off stream.

the funny thing about the gacha whaling metaphor is that the person who whales isn't the whaler, they're the whale being caught. also i don't think the jp term is derived from the same metaphor, I think it's something like the sound of a cash register opening, so polka didn't actually mention anything connected to the practice of hunting whales even metaphorically, if that puts your mind any further at ease
