- I was recommended to tried Balanced Craftwars Overhaul from a lot of different people, including some more well-known Craftwars people so I'd thought it'd be worth giving it a try despite me rejecting to play any other Craftwars game for a long time now. So far I'm liking the experience (especially since I picked the Summoner class), but I'd like to get deeper into the grind to have a solid opinion on the game so be on the lookout for more videos on this game.

Really nostalgic watching you again! I remember back in the craftwars days really looking up to you and your videos. Good on you for returning to yt again :)
feels refreshing seeing another new player in bcwo! anyway straight away i got some tips:
- like you already know, Summoner will be replaced with Architect, which is a class that focuses on turrets and other placed units. so dont be surprised if you loadout changes overnight
- it is ABSOLUTELY mandatory for you to use the R1NG code (by redeeming it in the bottom of the inventory tab), this gives you a broken ring of light that allows you to instantly dash, gaining s for a short while, and this can be upgrades to the ring of ligt for more distance
- once youre at the point to actually trying out megabosses (really hard bosses) you should absolutely go with hydra first, since its attacks are pretty weak and easy to dodge until phase 3
some items i recommend you get:
- Flaming Halberd (from Magma Lord)
- any sprite (Aqua, Thunder, Gale, Nature, Flare, Frost) from biome bosses
- Crescendo for insane healing
- Sky Bow
- Viridis Armor and Pickaxe
- Excalibur or Clarent if possible (you need a Fallen Excalibur from The Fallen)

If you do plan to turn this into a series, I'd like to warn you that the game gets very rng-reliant once you reach hardmode. (Hardmode is enabled after beating Atlas) The chances aren't as bad as Rex's spawn chance but it's still gonna take awhile to progress depending on your luck.

you should use your shield more its really good
getting cash at the beginning is really annoying because theres no good way to farm it without just killing enemies for an hour
aim to get mithril/adamantine armor and gear, then fight the megabosses
the "megabosses" are 4 super strong bosses that you need to kill in order to fight atlas to finally unlock hardmode (the rest of the game)
to find the megabosses, craft these portals in the Furniture section of the crafting menu (yellow tab):
Ring of Fire (megaboss: hydra)
The Blue Sea (megaboss: leviathan)
Aurora Glacier (megabosses: raito and hyoga)
Eye of the Storm (megaboss: eye of the storm)
i think these megabosses are really where the game shines over craftwars, the Hydra is SOOO much better made and actually intimidating. most of the megabosses are original to the game as well, like eye of the storm and leviathan
after killing those megabosses, finally craft the Atlas Awakener (portal) using all of their drops. atlas is a hard fight so get the best gear you can, ranged weapons like tsunami will do a lot of work against him since hes very far away (summons will have a harder time reaching him). aim for Spirit of the Elements if you still want to continue using summons
yes, your house gets bigger with more ranks:
Rank 15 - Floor Size Increased
Rank 25 - Second Floor Unlocked
Rank 50 - Third Floor Unlocked
Rank 100 - Fourth Floor Unlocked
Rank 500 - Roof Unlocked
if you want more ranks the only way to get them is via killing stuff
and yes, there is a TON of rng progression in the game, but the developers are working on moving away from it

btw elemental biome bosses can drop "sprites" of their respective biome's elements
they're pretty okayish summons which can be combined later
just a quick FYI, the entire summoner class is getting changed into another class as it is extremely unbalanced, has lots of bugs, and can cause extreme amounts of lag, all of your summon items will likely get replaced by something else in the future.

WHAT?! NO WAY!!!!
Just a quick warning about the game, I am heavily bias so keep this in mind. BCW is going to be a harsh RNG-fest (unless you focus on alt path, then good luck with beneath grinding for both paths). Main path is by far the strongest still (BUT very late in the game, for some reason a lot of alt path weapons are just overall stronger then their main path counterparts (void/angel...etc) Equinox weapons tend to get nerfed a lot but they still work, unless they decide to make it unusable (so far they haven't touched any of them recently, during the typing of this comment, so ill give them that.) Main path focuses on a lot of waiting, or relying on a friend to call you if a 'rare' biome shows up (and you aren't even guaranteed to get all the materials you need in that said rare biome.) RNG is warned in the game though so my complaint isn't about that as much. Its more or less the inconsistency with actually making worthwhile items, since there's always gonna be a new shinier one in some updates that take either long to grind, or nerfed the next update. Events usually are useless in endgame, unless they don't nerf items correlating to the event. Halloween event nerfed a lot of the weapons in the update, causing it to be almost obsolete for endgame aside from some that are good for utility/some dmg still. (Magia wand having transportation). They tend to add newer weapons that are a lot stronger, but i'm not sure if they'll nerf them again or actually start making event items a lot more competent. I do like events for newer players however, ill give them that. Since it gives them items that are really potent for them that can help them progress in the game more. Other than that, i'd like to see your thoughts about the game if you do continue playing it, as for me I have many problems with it.
I'm gonna add on to the issue with the game because I've had a similar experience, having played the game through to completion basically. I'm going to explain some of my own issues with the game to add on to what I believe needs to be known before someone decides to play this game.
There's a lot of different RNG mechanics in this game. There's legendary drops and mythical drops. Legendary drops range from 1/50 to 1/250 in rarity from different sources. One example is the Aura of Death, which recently got completely disabled because the developers thought it was too good. This item is a 1/100 from a boss that only shows once in a biome that happens on a 1/20000 chance. Do the math and you get 1/2m for the item, unless you have friends who send you links to those biomes. Though, that involves you in the community, which has got to be the most toxic cesspool I've ever witnessed. I don't recommend going for it.
Mythical drops are something else altogether. Mythical items can range from 1/777 to 1/1500, and sometimes don't even come from a guaranteed spawn, which only kind of makes it more annoying to deal with them. You can get a 1/150 chance for one of them currently, but the item isn't really worth it for the effort required to obtain that chance. You can counteract the low drop chances a little bit with loot luck, but unless you get an unobtainable item from the admins, you can only really lower a 1/100 chance to 1/67 or so. (Don't quote me on that but its a close estimate)
There's also the main path. In main path, your final tier is equinox items, which require you to get an item from two different previous tiers, those being Seraph and Eldritch items. Progression aside, the rarity of the biomes that provide the required materials for crafting these items go as follows:
Tier 1: Pure vs. Corrupt (Called PVC in most cases): 1/1000
Tier 2: Holy vs. Unholy (or HVUH): 1/1500 (?)
Tier 3: Void or Angelic (These are separate biomes, and you need both): 1/7000
Tier 4: Astaroth or Benedictus: 1/20000
Another thing of note is that sometimes the bosses will not spawn in the Void and Angelic biomes, this is because the developers are adamant on not adding boss pity to those biomes and those biomes only. All other biomes have boss pity (barring Astaroth and Benedictus because they are guaranteed spawns in their respective biomes no matter what). Their reasoning for this was because the boss drops were global for the Void and Angelic bosses. I did some extra math and learned that, in an isolated playthrough without the help of others, it would be about a 1/25200 chance to get a void or angelic biome with one of it's respective boss.
I don't have many qualms with the caverns and the beneath (BCW's version of the mines) but they are similar to OG Craftwars' mines. In the beneath, you are notified when a rare ore spawns (Moonstone or Forbidden Crystal, which are the 4th tier ores), but the map is quite big, so it's likely you won't find it. That's about all I have to say there.
Finally, merchants. Oh man, merchants. Every second, one has a 1/14000 chance to spawn in the overworld. Sometimes they have good stuff, sometimes they have garbage. They have a chance to sell legendaries, and they also have a chance to sell mythical items. There are some items you need for progression in the Gambler class that come from merchants.
TL;DR, progression in this game is a whole lot of waiting and doing nothing.
Wow, a lot of information from these comments! Thank you so much! Seems like a lot of that RNG progression is still present from the OG Craftwars, but on paper, to a lesser degree mainly because of Rex/Lux's existence. Seems like I'm gonna be waiting for a long time again. lol

I don’t get why they thought infinite exponential damage would ever be balanced, at least aod is getting reworked now
As for the merchants, you can get guaranteed ones from the event but any hardmode item they sell will cost extra aqua tokens which is post gilgamesh
Just a quick tip, use the code Fumo, and equip the item it gives, it increases your luck by a large margin and will basically ensure that you get every common drop from pre hardmode bosses.

The game is totally one of them worth-it craftwar type games, I'd say well my personal opinion is that playing solo is probably the most fun stage for me mainly because you get to learn about the game, learn mechanics, find knowledge, lore, mysteries, and fight your first ever bosses/mega-bosses. Basically as long as you think about whats in front of you and how the game might go, beginner stage might truly and be fun.
But yeah, there will be a lot more content, rng, and better bosses you'll be dealing with in hardmode, will be fun but at the same time tedious and difficult battles. One of my battles took 2 hours against aurora twins for some reason...
Also if you plan on playing with friends I do heavily recommend not playing with stronger people that can kill or survive easily against other battles since of course that takes away the fun and mystery. Basically sticking to VIP server so you don't have any idea of whats going on behind the scenes and I do recommend playing with other people who are roughly the same scale/rank as you.

I sadly myself got burnt out, however I plan on making a come back as hype updates are coming soon such as hardmode rework, biome rework, more dungeons, torment modes, including that sweet outfit saver. (But sadly won't come out after a few months)

Also tip even though it was said many times probably: Get ranged adamantine, a bit of life steal/forcefield/s, and full adamantine armour before facing against mega-bosses. The start of hardmode will be a pain as I had to die many and many times just to kill a single boss. However that was over a year ago, here everything will be easier and fun, I genuinely hope I can restart like a rebirth and re-enjoy the game again. (Not by alts)

I do plan to go about this playthrough completely solo, but I’m still thinking about the hard mode grind and whether or not I should get assistance just to let the playthrough keep going or keep all of the waiting aspects in. Those updates do sound really awesome too! Hopefully those come sooner than expected!

This game is extremely fun. Minus farming rare ores farming biomes for materials to get equinox or really anything thats endgame needlessly rare drops and overall progression that makes you wanna eat a buckshot.

Hope you continue playing. The game is really awesome, also you can craft mega bosses portals. They give you a good amount of cash and give drops. But you will have limited lives so I recommend going mining to get Armour and adamantite stuff first.
I do plan to play more/make more videos on this game! It's pretty intriguing so far but I heard there's a lot of RNG progression so I gotta be prepared to wait a long time. I'll make sure to get Adamantite stuff!

14:29 btw you can get an jtem called caliburn in the caverns it has a chance to spawn that can take up to 2 hours and 30 minutes from what i can remember also it talks and it get stronger depending on your rank i dont know how to give the location its just somewhere with 5 spikey stones and to the right of the portal a little down just gk until you see the 5 spikey stones

Tips: Aim for cobalt pick, then get the viridis one (its the 2nd best pick). With this, u can mine almost every single ore (except forbidden crystal and moonstone). Use geolocator, its useful when u r mining cuz it will detect rare ores nearby in 200studs radius. Last but not least, go for adamantine armour and devastator in late pre-hardmode progress. (U should have pick the melee classes lol). Gl and enjoy the eternal suffering

Once you keep progressing, you're gonna see a lot of stuff. Also, Summoner is becoming Architect, focusing on sentries and traps instead of summoning, so keep an eye out if you get too comfortable with the Summoner playstyle.

You can try to get caliburn which isn’t recommended for early game but it does pretty good damage.
It spawns somewhere in the caverns.
some info about the game is that you are in pre hardmode until you beat atlas think of it like having to beat the wall of flesh to unlock progression in terraria after beating atlas you will find yourself in hardmode and you will unlock more biomes also there is an sort of maze in the caverns that if you go the right path you will find a portal to the depth which has a bunch of new ores also watch out for the creepys/mimics cus if they kill you they send you to limbo

Atlas is an last Pre hardmode boss after beating it brings u to hardmode New biomes
you should play CraftWars: Path Choice, its pretty skill based and grindy (not really that grindy i would say), so good luck if you do play it
epic gameplay but summoner is not really a good class to go rn since its getting replaced
once you get beter gear you should switch classes

I play this game a lot, did you know that fumo have a hidden buff to luck? If you hit settings and then click stats at your bottom left part of your screen you can see it

@@SonickFreek8use code Fumo in your inventory where it says "enter code here" and equip it as long as you have it equipped it gives you +2 loot luck so for example a 1 in 5 drop becomes a 1 in 3 drop it only works when you have it in your hotbar
@@SonickFreek8 actually the warbanner item doesn’t but if you use the code “fumo” in your inventory you can get a free one. The others are expensive.

Yeah I heard about the biome RNG quite a bit and somewhat on the rework. Hopefully the rework itself will bring down that tedious grind by quite a bit.

Craft the adamantine devastator as a recommendation
and find someone that can help you beat the mega bosses and enter hard mode

the game gets hectic later on cuz the bosses are hella hard mostly 2 of them hydra and atlas which need u to get a whole raid squad for em or someone to carry you

I heard the main path is currently the strongest, but I’ve also heard stuff relating from that main path possibly getting nerfs, the grind is too tedious, or just wait for the next tier for the alt paths. I’ll have to think about that.
@@SonickFreek8 yeah my guess is itll take a few more months for them to release more of the alt paths. Also there is an upgrade to wind rider called isotope thruster for irradium path.

@@SonickFreek8 Alright was just letting you know and also you should aim to killing gilgamesh quickly as the halloween upd will be soon and the torment mode (requires u to have killed gilgamesh) drops a very very good weapon that is op but thats assuming that they do a halloween rerun which is most likely because they did a summer rerun
