You can just hold the fire button down then press reload to do this. You won’t cycle the weapon until you release the button. Doesn’t require timing at all. This works with every manual action (non semi auto) in the game

My opinion is the normal Romero is a lot higher as I have found it to be the most consistent/reliable shotgun, where I constantly have issues getting reliable one taps with other shotguns
Agree to disagree. The tier-list is from a solo perspective and even if you 100% 1 tap your first enemy you still have to reload after that shot which makes you highly vulnerable to getting pushed by 2-3 players at the same times
@@Whityyy that’s a fair perspective. I was not thinking about how it would play as a solo, I was only thinking as part of a team. I would agree that yes, as a solo the Romero is not the best option.
Awesome video, as all of your guides are, very helpful indeed! What are your thoughts on slugs for C&K/78/Spectre/Slate and what do you think about centennial silenced as secondary? Keep it up!
Romero slugs are fairly pointless, you could run 50/50 but no point. The only reason to run slugs on shotguns are the long range 2 taps in my opinion and you cant really do that. Specter is is better than the slate with slugs due to the specter having a 15m body tap and 25m headshot range while the slate only has 12m body/21hs range And the crown is by far the best slugs shotgun due to fire rate and 15/25 body/headshot range
@@beardedhoser I'd generally stick with buckshot due to you needing a lot of ammo if you fight multiple teams. I occasionally run slugs or pennyshot tho. As long as it 1-shots it works. Can't recommend flechette or dragon breath as a solo for that reason

Thank you, very much appreciated!. Overall it's kinda "the golden rule" as a solo player. Just as a shotgun you obviously dont wanna run 100 meters away but just swap your angle up a tiny bit to avoid trading
Theres a couple things i think you might have missed. Firstly the hand crossbow is by FAR one of the best shotgun secondaries if you have poison bolts, because you do not need line of sight. I find with shotguns theres MANY times when you drop an opponent to a sliver of health but cant finish before they heal. So heres a hypothetical scenario. You land a hit but the enemy dives behind cover, just shoot the cover with the crossbow and a cloud of posion instantly drops the guy behind it. Extremely satisfying. I also think u were too hard on the romero Talon, that thing is a BEAST. the trick is to treat it like an axe, NOT a shotgun. Run down a mf like youre using a bomb lance, melee kill one dude the blast the other guy while you disengage. On console this strat is ELITE because nobody can kill you in time. Also i highly recommend ammo crates for shotgunners. They tend to have really small ammo pools and it can be a huge pain keeping special shells stocked up

for me the specter works quite well but at the end of the day a lot comes down to preference hence why I put it into the B-tier since I think it's alright, middle of the pack kinda shotgun same as slate
I personally like to use the Romero for my "yolo" runs where I take a free hunter, 3 big bars, cheap weapons and hope for the best. It costs fuck-all, has pennyshot as a secondary ammo for bosses and it play well into the "yolo" thing. It's super consistent but slow, so I either get the kill or I get killed myself. The LeMat is imho really good for bringing in extra ammo for the Slate and Crown, despite being kinda lackluster in other aspects.
I agree - romero is pretty good for a budget gun, it's just relatively worse than the other shotguns but it's not far worse. I play romero quite often myself and do well with it but I know that something like the rival or crown is technically better

Still doesn't take the lemat out of the b-tier, you need your pistol to do work for you. Not just be an ammo deposit. B-tier is still more than viable but u r much better off playing a pistol out of the a/s tier
game like Hunt is sole reason why i become a shotgunner because they did shotgun justice in a video game logic. i love using flechette along with terminus levering to make up for 2 fast tap kill. alot of time i could use normal buckshot to score short range 1 tap kill but idk why flechette just stay with me in every shotgun loadout, perhaps i just like to put people in bleeding pressure to the point that they wasted all of their healing supply by just 1 tap them constantly...now if the SLATE have flechette, that would be awesome
@@Whityyy yeah when u are solo against 3 people who can rush all at once, few flechette shot to make them fall back to give u room to breath is a blessing but 70% of the time i just end up dead anyway cuz my shotgun is not fast enough
reallyl great guide .. i have just one question that wasnt mentioned in the video.. How you deal with situation that when you re halfway through to get a clue and u meet a second team in the open and u have no where to hide?
honestly I rarely have those situations. Try to pay better attention to the compound before u got to the clue would be my best advice. You will 100% get the hang of it with more experience
I'm the opposite to you, I value a more consistent stopping power over rate of fire. I think this must be because it fits my playstyle better, but in theory rate of fire is better for solos.
you can make all the shotguns work (I even play romero quite often) I just personally have a much easier time when I play shotgun with good fire rate. You can totally make normal shotguns work tho you simply have to position yourself better and "plan" for the reloads
I play console our way unruly but with the wide swath that the Romero gives you on console with controller the bayonet weapons are so unruly that they usually don't add anything that's too helpful except in a pinch but the Romero Talon with its wide spot has a little more forgiveness and since you got to be up close on a shotgun if you miss that round I don't know how many times I've been able to rush up and just smack somebody with that thing so I don't know how you have it at the same tier as the regular Romero
I mean they shoot fast yes but aren't semi-auto fast (rival 2 shot, levering or actual semi-auto crown) Like a rival can shoot twice before most people can even react/shoot back since it doesnt have an animation between the shots. If your initial specter/slate shot misses/not 1tap then they still have time react before your 2nd shot
@@Whityyy For the Specter yes, but the Slate, even if the first shot does miss/ not kill, the other guy is left with only ~0.65-0.7 seconds to react in this scenario, thats basically the same as the Crouch and Cringe, as I've come to call the gun. Still gotta admit though, the one time a month I decide to play solo, cause I personally find the game boring as fuck without anybody to talk to, I usually go for the Rival cause a) doesn't need perks b) my perma-broke ass can't afford the crown in large quantities, not that I run it anyway, damn thing has proven to be a lot less reliable than other shotties
Rewatching this since I started soloing again, and I realize quite a bit has changed in the meta since. I'm curious if your sidearm tier list or advice on tools/consumables has evolved
Sidearms are kinda the same, I'd add the trueshot in there and consumables I am still running the same. For tools I started bringing a flare pistol instead of deathtraps. You could run a lemat with starshell if u wanted to have both
Can you explain why you put the base Pax 2 tiers over the base scotfield? I agree that the pax is better but when I look at the stats, they look almost the same.

Uhhh it's gonna be better than it is rn but I do believe that it still wont be a great sidearm due to the low dmg+headshots range. Might be good for rifles tho
After watching many HS guides, I've determined they're all essentially saying "git gud noob". While there are strategies you can implement, at the end of the day if your reaction times aren't great or your shot accuracy sucks, you're gonna just get wrecked in this game.
This guide is misleading, the man's trying to convince you that you can achieve this level of gameplay on your own. Man's obviously cheating or is an alien possessing a human body. So either look for some software to improve your aim and get possessed by a higher being to increase your skill in Hunt. Awesome guide, love from Azsha.
The problem with the Terminus is that the levering locks you in place, coupled with how inconsistent and short the 1 taps can be it will leave you a sitting duck sometimes. Being able to jumpshot people around corners puts C&K well above it. Seeing neanderthals trying to blast people without levering is always incredibly pitiful.
@@Whityyy There's major slowdown during and briefly after levering, leaving you an easy target for flick headshots. Whereas for example with C&K you can jumpshot someone around a corner to avoid trading, hop back round the corner to dodge the shots of their team mate behind them then pop back out again safely.
@@Whityyy If you don't want to trade, sometimes the shooting is the peek. No need to waste time peeking when you can hear exactly where they are. Often there's no choice but to take down a trio quickly if they're all rushing you. C&K is ultimately a cut above because of the ease of movement while running and gunning. Being able to hop in and out of the line of fire to 1 tap hunters while avoiding getting hit yourself is invaluable. The fluid movement while shooting is the real strength of the C&K.
Glad the pax is working for you, it's a solid pick in my opinion. A lot comes down to preference once you play the better pistols. I personally just believe most people would do better with other guns, it's not I rated it poorly just not as good as some other weapons
i hit people several times with a terminus and they dont die, at the same distance i lay them with the compact romero with one shot, its no critiqe at your tierlist, simply my expirience
You are probably missing your shots since you are less careful with a multi-shot shotgun because you know you are "allowed to miss" while on the romero you concentrate extra hard because it is 1 shot make it count. Also a shotgun shoots a spray of pellets if 1 pellet hits the target it means you will get a hitmarker. It's not a "you are bad"-reply. It is what I explain a lot when I do my free coachings/gameplay reviews on stream and A LOT of people who say their shotguns don't 1tap often aim left or right of their target (not center mass) and thus get a hitmarker but no 1 shot

8:05 you forgot to mention that the reason people use lemat is because of the shared ammo pool not to actually use the shot gun on the lemat.
Still doesn't take the lemat out of the b-tier, you need your pistol to do work for you. Not just be an ammo deposit.
B-tier is still more than viable but u r much better off playing a pistol out of the a/s tier
great content. keep up the good work.
Will do 🙏 thank you for some extra motivation
game like Hunt is sole reason why i become a shotgunner because they did shotgun justice in a video game logic. i love using flechette along with terminus levering to make up for 2 fast tap kill. alot of time i could use normal buckshot to score short range 1 tap kill but idk why flechette just stay with me in every shotgun loadout, perhaps i just like to put people in bleeding pressure to the point that they wasted all of their healing supply by just 1 tap them constantly...now if the SLATE have flechette, that would be awesome
Flechete 100% can be fun 😂 glad that u r enjoying yourself bullying people
@@Whityyy yeah when u are solo against 3 people who can rush all at once, few flechette shot to make them fall back to give u room to breath is a blessing but 70% of the time i just end up dead anyway cuz my shotgun is not fast enough
Love those continuous Hitmarkers - i think my reaction time is meanwhile just too slow to keep up 😉
Haha, brain > aim. I am sure by playing smart you can still make up for your reaction time 👍
awesome guide!
Appreciate it 🙏
reallyl great guide .. i have just one question that wasnt mentioned in the video.. How you deal with situation that when you re halfway through to get a clue and u meet a second team in the open and u have no where to hide?
honestly I rarely have those situations. Try to pay better attention to the compound before u got to the clue would be my best advice. You will 100% get the hang of it with more experience
This guy has a lot of “luck” to not just consider it skill!! Killer video, gonna try some of this stuff out in the Bayou!
🙏🙏🙏
Because on pc nobody goes for a talon kill unless you are in the lowest elo where people miss all their shots
Have you ever used the Slate or Specter with Iron Devastator ? I'd consider those, especially in case of the slate as very fast shooting
I mean they shoot fast yes but aren't semi-auto fast (rival 2 shot, levering or actual semi-auto crown)
Like a rival can shoot twice before most people can even react/shoot back since it doesnt have an animation between the shots.
You could run a lemat with starshell if u wanted to have both
@@Whityyy between the Trueshot, Scottfield high velo, and the LeMat muzzle velocity buff I feel like we've got a lot of good options these days
@@Hina_Hanta 100% spitfire obviously with hv
@@Whityyy naturally
9:50 I take it you're stoked about the regen shot buff
Yup it's actuals insanely strong with vigor
Thanks for the great video.
Can you explain why you put the base Pax 2 tiers over the base scotfield? I agree that the pax is better but when I look at the stats, they look almost the same.
The basic scottfield has a much lower velocity and lower firerate than the pax.
@@Whityyy I guess I didn't appreciate how much of a difference the 50 velocity difference was! Ty for all your guides, your channel has helped me greatly. I hit 5 stars for the first time just the other day. I recommend your videos to all my friends that play.
@@Smorccc thank you, always happy to hear that my videos actually help players to improve! (and ye 50 velocity can make a big difference at close to medium range)
Don't care what anyone says, Spectre is S tier.
I mean you can play specter and it will work but calling the specter better/as good as than a crown is just a fever dream.
Ofcourse you can win games with a specter tho
Amen brother before all those fancy guns back in the days when you couldn’t afford the crown & king specter was my go to shotgun and it still is
you think 1.13 bornheim fire ammo can be a decent side arm for shotgun enjoyer with ammo change and fire ammo buff?
Uhhh it's gonna be better than it is rn but I do believe that it still wont be a great sidearm due to the low dmg+headshots range.
Might be good for rifles tho
What are good shotgun/pistols on a budget? I'm somewhat low on money currently. Caldwell and Pax are my go to combo. What are your thoughts?
I'd go rival + conversion (could go romero but I prefer the rival since romero can be very hit or miss)
@@Whityyy thanks :D
Can i ask why the pax claw is so much lower than the regular? I love having the knife on my gun for ai
I personally dont like the extra sway - it makes medium to long range shots much harder
I thought that multiple pellet glitch while shooting explosives got patched.
Still works, killed the assasin like that on tuesday. They only fixed it on the hive bomb afaik.
With great firerate comes great memeability
Not wrong 😂 terminus is also the best "meme" shotgun due to that actually kinda insane when you put dragonbreath on it
@@Whityyy I have yet to try it, I really should (but on the other I don't play Hunt as much anymore)
After watching many HS guides, I've determined they're all essentially saying "git gud noob". While there are strategies you can implement, at the end of the day if your reaction times aren't great or your shot accuracy sucks, you're gonna just get wrecked in this game.
You'll hit 10k subs in no time
maybe one day!
Slate is A tear
This guide is misleading, the man's trying to convince you that you can achieve this level of gameplay on your own.
Man's obviously cheating or is an alien possessing a human body.
So either look for some software to improve your aim and get possessed by a higher being to increase your skill in Hunt.
Awesome guide, love from Azsha.
They got us on the first half.... 😂
crazy
The problem with the Terminus is that the levering locks you in place, coupled with how inconsistent and short the 1 taps can be it will leave you a sitting duck sometimes. Being able to jumpshot people around corners puts C&K well above it. Seeing neanderthals trying to blast people without levering is always incredibly pitiful.
Levering is not really an issue at all. You play it just like a crown tbh. Never had an issue feeling "locked in place"
@@Whityyy There's major slowdown during and briefly after levering, leaving you an easy target for flick headshots. Whereas for example with C&K you can jumpshot someone around a corner to avoid trading, hop back round the corner to dodge the shots of their team mate behind them then pop back out again safely.
@@jesterclownmime I mean you should only go into hipfire when you are planning to shoot, not peek with it
@@Whityyy If you don't want to trade, sometimes the shooting is the peek.
Sleeping on the pax as a shotgun sidearm, I get more kills with it than the uppercut
@@Whityyy ja hast du recht mit dem fokus auf ein schuss, ich frag mich wie man den gleichen fokus bekommt wenn man ne "spamwaffe" hat?

comment spotted, appreciation given! (much love)
Okok
👍 tmrw we play nitro (at least 1 game Kappa)
You can take 3 shots with the specter and slate faster than you can take 3 shots with the rival. For that reason (and your own reasoning of needing to wipe trios) A tier makes more sense
