    I originally had more footage on me painting it, but I seem to have misplaced the sd card it was on. Thankfully I still go over how I painted everything in this video.

    This looks amazing! It looks just like stepped off the screen. I remember watching this as a kid and seeing him forbthe first time, my older brother grabbed me and we both were in awe at robocop 2. This video takes me back

    MAN!!! That looks so good. I’m in the same boat with the Neca figures. I don’t really possess the paint skills for such a costly kit. You did a great job though.

    omfg that is so sick! You should be very proud of that model you made, Robo-Cain is my all time favorite movie character bar none and nothing even comes close, and I feel you captured its look, and feel and I think it is flawless.
    I really want to see a recreation of its pose right before it dies where it has it's screen out, the face is screaming, with its arms and claws flailing in the air. Please, I request that you post a short, or a update, or something with this.

    NECA, bizarrely, won't touch RoboCain with a bargepole (nor the 'locust' from Independence Day), but makes figures of The Golden Girls... huh.

      I'm in the process of this kit build now. I get the frustration surrounding the lack of any decent quality RoboCain model kits, collectible statues, etc that have ever come up in the nearly 35 years since the film was released (unless one had the means and timeliness to acquire one of the pricey Chronicle/ Phil Tippett statues). But it's precisely the complexity of the RoboCain design and cost prohibitive nature for any company attempting to recreate it, especially if its to retain ANY degree of articulating parts, that has made this character so out of reach for any given model/ collectible/ toy company over the years. Too expensive to make, too expensive at retail. Even the Moderoid kit is not cheap.

    I have this model kit. I just need to set some time aside. I'm thinking of going with just panel liner and some metallic and oil stain weathering for dry brush application rather than painting.

    It's as if I just found out this figure exists today, but surely I remember it when it was on pre-order. Got so damn excited that I didn't care I'd be paying over retail, but _then_ remembered why I guess I forgot all about it...cause it's a model kit, _wah wah wah wahahahah_ ☹️. Even if it was free and fully painted, nope. I guess that's odd considering I'm a lifelong artist, so I can draw, make things, I like putting Lego sets together...but I just won't fuck with any kind of model kits with a bazillion parts on sprues. It's overwhelmin' man!

    • @TheGeekChest
      @TheGeekChest  Год назад +1

      Honestly it's a pretty straight forward kit. Even looks good enough without painting it. It's a bit simpliar then some of the Gundam kits I've put together.

      It is tempting, but I know if I get it (which it's now going for over original cost), it'll just sit in the box. Hopefully one day NECA will finally be able to make Cain. I have no idea why they haven't years ago. And a Johnny 5 too, cause the only ones I've seen are super expensive metal versions or 3D printed ones.

    Had the same idea when i saw these for pre-order as it scales well with NECA. Given that NECA has stated they have no intention on releasing Cain this may well be the best option we're going to get. Just waiting for BBTS to pull their finger out.

      Based on measurements of specific parts of the full-size prop and this model it's almost exactly 1/11 scale, so you can fudge it into both 6" and 7" collections.

    the gun arm articulation is the most disappointing thing about it, but otherwise it is a fantastic model, and probably the best one before going into the huge maquette price point.

    Robocop: I don't know you...
    But this exactly my thoughts too,
    Have the Ed and Robo with the jet pack of Neca, so drug addict Cain was a must for me.
    Haven't assembled it yet. But damn seeing you painted it that great, I am thinking should I leave it unpainted.
    And painting is a hassle, I got mixed feeling about this.
    Before I ordered thought there would be a better color separation, but now I am a little disappointed they did not even do simple color separation parts, but instead give you a big part and you can paint to separate!
    It is a must if you have Neca scaled buddies around, but if it is a stand alone model kit, it can be way better.
    If it comes to details of obviously you would aspect of parts to be open or closed, this is not the case.
    You see Gundam MG model kits are not the greatest I still have to modify it sometimes, but I expect if a model kit comes with the price of a MG, should have the MG feel mechanics into it.
    EG, like the head it can be solved with hinges open and close, or the nuke bottle separated?
    The Pliers arm instead of replacing, open and close with hinges, just like gundam hands?
    The makers of these model kits are clearly not Robo drug cain fan, they just do their work of making a model, not solving the problems.
    But They tried and made an affordable Drug addict cain, so that I will give them that.

    nice botch-job...watch the movie again...that horrible, HORRIBLE shiny chrome looks so out of place...you managed to mess up both of these awesome kits. Also, ever heard of weathering ? Pannel lining ? Drybrushing ? I don't think so.

    • @TheGeekChest
      @TheGeekChest  Год назад +2

      I feel like you didn't actually watch the video, as I explain that I was going by the maquette which has the shiny chrome and not much weathering. Also I literally show the panel lining that I did in the spaces that needed it. Also wanted it to have a more clean look to match the NECA figures that I painted it to match. Thanks for the view though.
