Fun fact: the last part is a reference to Hey Hey Guy by Ken Laszlo, the beginning of which features phrases such as "I love you and feel groove" and "yes it's true, yes it's true"
Ohh I just played the music video and didn't hear those phrases so I was confused but you're right, the 7:37 long audio version has both those phrases as well as "are you at phone"
i somehow found this whole thing while searching for eurodance tracks for my playlist. what a rabbithole i fell into. i grew up with Eurodance as i'm European and yeah, they nailed most aspects. they only thing they were missing the dated CGI

Yeah except the stuff that was shown on MTV was mostly from Germany or Scandinavia (often indistinguishable from the UK and America). They had impeccable English.
That weird little keyboard, if you look at the top, it says Y2K, which was that big scare from 1999 when they thought all the computers would die at the start of the millennium. haha
They would have if people didn't spend hundreds upon hundreds of working hours and money to make sure the problem was fixed in time. That was literally the protagonist's job in the movie Office Space. Going through lines upon lines of code and fixing the dates so they'd be four-digits (ex 1994) instead of two-digit (ex 94).
Disco got so panned when it started, but when Eurodance hit, essentially an evolution of disco, and started getting more radio play, it was so insanely catchy and got stuck in your head for months. There’s a reason tracks like “What is Love” and Real McCoy’s “Run Away,” and later stuff like ATC’s “Around The World (La La La La La)” hold up so well. They’re silly, sure, but damn it if they aren’t some of the most addictive music you’ve heard in your life. Something about that mid-late 90s life was unique in a way that, even if it sounds like the older millennial in me, I don’t think we will ever experience again. I’m still waiting for that Vengabus to come pick me up. 🤣
I love the look on her face when she's scrutinizing the 3.5" floppy disk (another 90s thing). Also love his DJ call-outs. They are very well done. Also, she's not dressed as an angel (no wings), she's dressed as the Virgin Mary.
Since you brought it up, the mold for the communicator prop from classic Star Trek was based on a plastic pencil box. A section of the box's middle was removed, the ends joined back together, and the result was used to create the plastic mold for the chassis.
to add, the shaving razor was from the wars, not the trek (Qui-Gon's comm in tpm was the handle of a women's razor, I think gillette but I'm too lazy to google) so he was close
Can I be honest? I put this on replay and sleep listening to it like a psychopath. Its my comfort so g. I had a Polish nanny growing up so I knew all the 90’s Eurodance music. We need to relive the 90’s. And this song did that for us
I've never been a fan of that style of music, even back in the day. But I think I've watched this video a dozen times. DJ crazy times reminds me of a half dozen friends of mine. Biljana has perhaps the most infectious happy vibe in existence.
The only way they could have better parodied the genre is to have a black woman sing Ms Biljana Electronica’s verses, never feature her in a music video, and then never give her credit.
Kyle actually did that for all the teaser shorts. It was a different female model for every teaser as a reference to a lot of vocalists never even showing up in the videos.
You talked about what happened to the keyboard design ... if you look closely the first line in the middle writes "y2k", an obvious reference to the millenium bug
The video makes the nonsensical lyrics make sense. Examples: "If the sky is not green but the sky is blue" -->The sky in heaven (where she is the queen) is neither green nor blue, but red. "Touch and make it twice before I cry, heaven is time a time today" --> They touch twice in the video, once in heaven and once at the end. Heaven was a time that day. "When the pleasure is the dream on a secret love" --> She has a secret love for DJ Crazy Times, and the whole thing is a high-tech dream (written on the keyboard). "Women are my favorite guy" --> Read what's on her shirt! Etc.
A few years ago SNL did a parody Euro Rap song called "World Peace Rap" with Chris Pine as one of the performers. It's very similar to this with the not quite accurately translated phrases and awkward expressions of "crazy times" and world peace. Check it out if you liked this.
Very much in the same vein as Ding Dong Song by Günther & The Sunshine Girls from however many years ago now which is similarly just drenched in Eurodance tropes.
I love this song a lot, but I think the nightcore version is even better. Even when I listened to this song for the very first time, I thought to myself "There absolutely needs to be a nightcore version of this!" and 2 days later it existed and it blew away my expectations! It is everything I hoped for. Anyhow, I've had this song stuck in my head for weeks now, it just doesn't stop tingling my head with its nonsensical lyrics.
I got Real McCoy vibes since the first time I listened to the song, I can express how much I love it. It reminds me when I was a kid (didn't understood English so any gramatical error went over my head XD)
It feels like I'm listening to every Eurodance song I ever liked simultaneously with this parody, he really nailed it if you're taking suggestions I'd love an analysis video of the song from the first level of Crypt of the Necrodancer. Ventricular fibrillation is the precursor to dubstep. Some burnt-out paramedic looked at a heart monitor in the middle of CPR and said "I wonder what that sounds like?"
Joking or not, 90s are best music, people are dancing in the clubs everyone have fun, now music are trash. And I am talking of my position like kid of 90s, 42y old already
This is the type of parody that just really feels like it’s full of love. And it’s just so fun and full of joy, I can’t resist.
Yep. The Affectionate Parody as it's known on TVTropes.
You have to love something to make a good parody
A masterpiece. Someone already did a 4:3 ratio version with VHS filter, of course!
That one and the one that did both the vhs filter and the mtv edit are so good.
I think the 4:3 ver. is by the original creator which is really sweet, since it really shows the amount of love put into it
Someone else did a version with vhs stuff and MTV Europe graphics
Theres already a nightcore version too haha
@@kenshin891does it contain pop-up info blues like VH1 did?
One of my favorite things about this song is that you can ever so vaguely tell what it’s supposed to translate to
Getting English wrong this well takes a very special talent. If it were gibberish, it wouldn't be funny. Every line is just a perfect near-miss.
