budgeting is about planning your spending, definitely should include investments in your budget as well, and then in the actual section (which i assume you have in your spreadsheet) you then put what you actually did. budgeting just gives you a plan on how you plan to use your money, it doesn't have to be limiting

For me I use Google keep to write down monthly plan and take note in general and I use the I save money app to budget
