1:04:39 to 1:05:37 - It gets me every time, my first ever gaming plot twist moment. It's like Naughty dog wanted to screw with us like the last of us. I asked Naughty Dog about the reboot that never was... and the guy running the Q&A said they couldn't answer it because of NDA's and all. Why the heck is there still an NDA on Jak & Daxter? One theory I have that you will like is we are getting a New Game or A Remaster or a Reboot but I can only hope. what do you think @SourceSpy91
@@CrazyDevoYT Hi, I'm a paralegal and I might have a little info that might help make clear why the NDA is still active. Typically, an NDA is created when a company has a forward rolling plan that, if information on this plan got out, could affect the outcome of said plan. The only reason they'd have an active NDA is if they're planning something new with the IP, selling the IP, or it's simply about to expire and the agreed-upon date hasn't come yet. In my professional opinion, they're probably planning to remaster one of the games (probably the first one) and don't want any word out on it, but that could just as well mean anything at all.
@@anthonydarrigo7291 well.. they better not be selling it or we riot! and second. you really are a paralegal cool some guy on reddit told me that NDA's can last forever is that true?
@@CrazyDevoYT LOL i actually just saw that thread. Some NDAs definitely can, but with high profile ones (especially in the entertainment industry) the lawyers know that most employees can't (or won't) keep their mouths shut for very long, so they don't really bother with indefinite contracts because there would be no case in court to fight, and it'd be a huge waste of money and time for all involved specifically BECAUSE they have no future plans with the IP. Again, I haven't read these contracts, so that's definitely not a guarentee, but in my opinion they could and should definitely sell it while it's worth something since the domain won't be public until 50 years have passed without any renewal whatsoever. Personally I don't want nu-naughty dog to touch J&D because they're very social justice oriented now, I'd rather another company, with real creative talent behind the wheel, to take a loving crack at the games. It just wouldn't be a decent investment on naughty dogs part, especially now. Sadly that's what it comes down to for their board members: a return on an investment.
Eh, I wasn't a fan of this twist. I prefer the direction Jak X went, even if Jak 3 has more story to it, and Jak delivers the exact same line for a different twist at the end of Jak X.
Probably my favourite Damos and Jak moment has to be that heart to heart about how despite his time of keeping people alive, safe and full of hope in the Wasteland is daunting shows how even strong stoic types do have moments of weakness and feel they aren’t enough if he had the powers of one Damos could be a very worthwhile Eco Sage likely a Green eco sage
There was going to be another game that they were thinking about and making concepts for, but at the time, uncharted was the thing and the studio tried to work out how a more reaction Jake game would look and feel like, but they said it didn't feel right and they might come back to it in the future. I wouldn't mind them keeping the style as ratchet and clank did, though I thought the grittier look was cool. I'm sure it was hard to balance with the comedy the games are known for.
Because Naughty Dog and Insomniac are sellout ass clowns studios, operated by a bigger sellout ass clown publisher, Sony. Otherwise there are tons great newer games, just none with the PlayStation branding.
I'm watching this like a movie imo the jak and daxter trilogy is the best trilogy ever made best games ever made and watching this brings back so many memories good memories I've yet to give up on the possibility of a new jak and daxter game but havent gotten it yet great video keep it up
I remember it like it was yesterday ps2 era, teen years. Beat Jak II and was very excited about this game. Played the game and the first cutscene Jak was banished to the wasteland. I was like woah!! After all what Jak did for Haven City in part 2 and this happened. Insane then finding out who the Precursors really were is still one of the best moments in gaming imo. Then using Light Jak for the first time was dope as hell! Remake this remake that If it's one trilogy that needs to have a proper remake it's Jak period.
this is why i like the videogames from the early 2000s the best, they always went the extra mile and didnt take shortcuts. name me ONE video game from the past decade that has an hour and a half worth of fully animated cutscenes that isnt a triple-A title, go on.
I missed playing this and other PS2 related games. I must get new cables for the PS2 console. The disk is just lying on my desk at the moment, but i make sure it's dust free. I love it so much.
I wish they would be animated series in our own though haha. I love animation and think all three franchises would be awesome if adapted (and done right).
I remember playing Jak 3 as a young teen and this game being my first ever introduction to 'fourth wall' humor at the part where they're talking to the Monk and she says "this isn't a game", followed by Jak and Daxer looking at the camera all confused. ( @14:7 )
I still think Jak actually went with the precursors, maybe to live as Mar, and then was brought back in time to that exact moment to look like he never left.
Jamesy Boy I remember Daxter in the first game telling that hillbilly guy with missing hip hog, Farley: “ By the smell, I wager your bath tub sank in the mud long ago”.
I wonder what happened since then that caused so many games to feel like they all have exact same pixar-ish animation style. I can never shake the feeling that I'm watching the work of a college student who's been told the "correct method" and has lost all individual character.

This is not only a good game but it is one of the best game series I have ever completed. Specially the story was bewitching
If they had made a movie based on this story then the movie would have been a blockbuster 🔥🔥
man this brings back some good old memories
Still one of the best games I'll ever play
1:04:39 to 1:05:37 - It gets me every time, my first ever gaming plot twist moment. It's like Naughty dog wanted to screw with us like the last of us. I asked Naughty Dog about the reboot that never was... and the guy running the Q&A said they couldn't answer it because of NDA's and all. Why the heck is there still an NDA on Jak & Daxter? One theory I have that you will like is we are getting a New Game or A Remaster or a Reboot but I can only hope. what do you think @SourceSpy91
1:17:15 little do they know he just went back in time to become the founder of haven city...
@@anthonydarrigo7291 i think i have an idea what they are doing with it.... but it's just a theory. would you like to hear it?
1:08:28 - gets me every time, I had the same reaction, like Wtf Naughtydog? Never saw that coming,
Eh, I wasn't a fan of this twist.
Amazing story, one of the best of any game ive ever played
Why can't we have good games like this anymore?
Cuz the new age is crap
There was going to be another game that they were thinking about and making concepts for, but at the time, uncharted was the thing and the studio tried to work out how a more reaction Jake game would look and feel like, but they said it didn't feel right and they might come back to it in the future.
I wouldn't mind them keeping the style as ratchet and clank did, though I thought the grittier look was cool. I'm sure it was hard to balance with the comedy the games are known for.
Games don't have personality anymore
Nostalgia is a helluva drug. And not the good kind
Because Naughty Dog and Insomniac are sellout ass clowns studios, operated by a bigger sellout ass clown publisher, Sony.
Otherwise there are tons great newer games, just none with the PlayStation branding.
Been playing this game 15 years and I only just got the ‘jak beats things all the time’ joke...
Lmfao yo literally same dude
I just caught that too. Holy crap I need to replay this whole trilogy to catch all the innuendoes I've missed this whole time. I was too young...
Explain this joke pls. I guess it's a game of words, but my english is not enough to understand it
Daxter: "Um excuse me, Count Vulgar."
Count Vulgar: "It's Veiger!!"
Why is that funny, and why do RUclipsrs overplay that running gag?
Vulgar means disgusting, or something like that.
33:16 is where it is if anyone is wondering
Omg my childhood flashing before my eyes man good times, definitely going to give them a replay soon.
The hero march theme near the end is just nirvana for everyone’s childhood.
Christmas day 2005 one of the best memories from my childhood
14:03 "This isn't a game" xD
I love it :D
Daniel Morán 😧
I can hear what they said in their heads
But it is a game
Jak & Daxter's reaction at the camera after is known as breaking the fourth wall - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_wall
Just for if you're interested :)
Oliver Young Oh yeah I see what you mean, I’ve never noticed that before.
Damas never recognised Jak, because Jak was about 15 years older than Damas was looking for.
If your here in 2021 your a legend
14:00 was the most funniest part breaking the forth wall 😂
I'm watching this like a movie imo the jak and daxter trilogy is the best trilogy ever made best games ever made and watching this brings back so many memories good memories I've yet to give up on the possibility of a new jak and daxter game but havent gotten it yet great video keep it up
1:03:00 Samos disappeared lol
33:18 no i'm pretty sure it's vulgar
I remember it like it was yesterday ps2 era, teen years. Beat Jak II and was very excited about this game. Played the game and the first cutscene Jak was banished to the wasteland. I was like woah!! After all what Jak did for Haven City in part 2 and this happened. Insane then finding out who the Precursors really were is still one of the best moments in gaming imo. Then using Light Jak for the first time was dope as hell! Remake this remake that If it's one trilogy that needs to have a proper remake it's Jak period.
44:06 daxter running to hug tess was surprisingly adorable
Happy 20th Anniversary Jak 3.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
2004 - 2024.
this is why i like the videogames from the early 2000s the best, they always went the extra mile and didnt take shortcuts. name me ONE video game from the past decade that has an hour and a half worth of fully animated cutscenes that isnt a triple-A title, go on.
"Let's go topside and see what kind of trouble we can get into" 😌
Still a great quote.
Gotta love Dax's abject confusion when Seem pet his chin, like "Dude, I just insulted you, why you bein' all touchy-touchy?"
I missed playing this and other PS2 related games. I must get new cables for the PS2 console. The disk is just lying on my desk at the moment, but i make sure it's dust free. I love it so much.
18:33 then 1:13:34 . Made me big sad once I realized these two moments go hand in hand
I miss this game series
Still one of the best games in the world
Back when games used to be good! Holy shyt! Makes me want to go back and actually try to finish this game.
In some alternate universe/reality Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper & Ratchet and Clank are animated series instead of videogames.
I wish they would be animated series in our own though haha. I love animation and think all three franchises would be awesome if adapted (and done right).
17:43-17:49 Best moment
Did he gave him the finger?
@@BeruBeruIce yup
27:42 God I love the sound of Sig's Peacemaker charging
I remember playing Jak 3 as a young teen and this game being my first ever introduction to 'fourth wall' humor at the part where they're talking to the Monk and she says "this isn't a game", followed by Jak and Daxer looking at the camera all confused. ( @14:7 )
man... I missed this game
I like Jack 2 better than 3
Same for me
Jak 2 is an alright game, but I prefer this or Jak 1
@@SourceSpy91 Not even when Jak turns into Robert DeNiro in 9:05?
NOH-
@@w花b I know.
I still think Jak actually went with the precursors, maybe to live as Mar, and then was brought back in time to that exact moment to look like he never left.
Daxter the savage 17:46
It never came to me that daxter flipped pecker off
Ma man be giving the finger lol
Facts, totally hilarious
I just realized after 12 years of playing Jak 3 that Dax gave him the bird (pun not intended)
Jak is Bae, my actually first MCM before "Leon Kennedy" 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
But toothbrush is one word, daxter. 12:03
but toothbrush can be "tooth brush"
your right metal balls
@@alphabravo9853 metal head balls
Jamesy Boy I remember Daxter in the first game telling that hillbilly guy with missing hip hog, Farley: “ By the smell, I wager your bath tub sank in the mud long ago”.
I wonder what happened since then that caused so many games to feel like they all have exact same pixar-ish animation style. I can never shake the feeling that I'm watching the work of a college student who's been told the "correct method" and has lost all individual character.
Kiera, Ashlyn and Tess were the sexiest characters here
“Heroes think they can save the world when they themselves are lost” Daaang, calm down Yoda
Daxter - Ugliest human became sarcastic cute ottsel who got beautiful ottsel for his life.
Its really sad that Damas didn't find out that Jak was his son. I wish he had.
