    First cut the carriots into irregular prices. They should cook unevenly, so some are hard and some are mush. Then add the irregular carriot into a standing pot of grey, 6 day old, Tesco special animal cuts. The add some onions dosent matter how much just use some. Once the onions are in, reach under the sink and grab your ceramic stove top cleaning solution. Now pour that grey paste over some shit flowers and mix it up until it has the consistency of decaying masticated flesh. Add that mixture on top of the others. Ensure that it is layered so that uneven heat distribution ensures uneven cooking. Then add a cup of brown dishwater with some shakes of Tesco grass clippings. Pour the whole thing in. It should boil the bottom layer and haphazardly steam the rest. Cook for at least one hour and measure your success by plating. You will have known success if you water is thin and brown while the meat is grey and chewy. Feed it to your son, who got into an accident 6 years ago and was never the same. Then stare directly at him with deep anticipation while he wholesale lies directly to your face for the umpteenth time about how it's good.

    Kay, when making stews like these, fry up the onions separately until they are sweated. Also brown the meat slightly. You'd be surprised how it will improve the taste.

    Kay, I don't know how I can thank you enough. Me and the missus have been going through a rough patch recently and I've been looking for ways to bring the situation to a favourable resolution. When I stumbled across this recipe I knew I had found the perfect salve. I cooked it for her last night and she's finally packing up her things and fucking off as I'm typing this.     Hey Kay, i saw u didn't add any cream in there other than mixing with the mushrooms. Adding the cream into the pot with the carrots, onions and meat etc is what that makes that creamy "gravy/sauce" with all of the other ingredients.

    something i like to do is sear the meat a bit before slow cooking it. you can just put the pot on the stove with a bit of oil and brown the outsides of the meat. gives more flavour and helps it get tender.
    this looks great kay. good job

    Kay, big tip to improve your cooking, stop cooking everything together! You need to cook some things separately and build up the dish.
    For a nice stroganoff, off your onions in some oil until slightly caramelised. Set aside. Fry the mushrooms in butter and olive oil, add salt pepper and thyme and garlic. fry until golden. The water that comes out will take a long time to evapourate but be patient when done add to the onions but off the heat.
    seperately, season meat with salt and pepper and optional paprika then sear the meat until nicely browned, then combine with the onion mushroom mixture and add your double cream. Simmer very gently.
    serve on top with rice. It will be nice and creamy and rich and tasty, not watery. Top with some chopped parsley

    Hello Kay. Looks delicious. The meat you used is chuck meat used for stews. Which means it need to cook longer. Try cooking it for 2 hrs. The meat will be much tender and delicious. Enjoy michele USA

    Much improved Kay darling! The key to the stroganoff is a nice creamy sauce (lots of mushroom and sour cream, onion and beef stock), and the American saying for tender meat and veggies is "cook it low and slow." Much love cross the pond

    little tip. Don't ever use a slow cooker when making this dish. You actually want a crust on the meat so fry it normally. Then, never mix the sour cream with the mushrooms, you are supposed to mix the sour cream into the pan once the meat and vegetables are cooked. NEVER add broth. You want it to be a thick sauce.

    Edit - also, I like using a chefs knife for cutting most veggies. It has a rounded blade so you can rock the knife back when cutting. They’re super handy and a great staple in the kitchen. 👍🏼

    1: of course you can taste the carrot, you put carrots in it.
    2: beef being beef, or being a meat in general, it can be tenderised.

    Good dish Kay! I'm a few days late to the video. I may be wrong, but I think if you brown the outside of your beef in a pan before combining the ingredients in the pot and baking, it will make it much more tender and less chewy.
