Thank you for your video. I picked up the rpg based on the passion about it, which in turn got me into the book series. The rpg book overall is amazingly well produced and friendly towards new players
@Runeslinger yep. Waiting for the physical copy to really super sink my teeth into it as I prefer to run things from the physical book, but my group and I are excited for it.
I highly recommend the audiobooks with Kobna Holdbrook Smith as Peter Grant and his other brilliant voices. I had read the first book when it came out, but it wasn’t until a decade later when my brother recommended I listen to the books that I totally fell in love with the series. I hope Ben and Kobna never part. I never listened to audiobooks until I became very ill last year and needed to listen to books instead. And that’s really difficult for me unless there’s a great “narrator”. Wow! Thank you to both Ben and Kobna. Got me through a very tough time. The Rivers of London series is intelligent, fresh, humorous and different.
You forgot Doc Brown's song and video " rivers of london"... Sung from the point of Peter as he is " get ghost shivers as I'm following' the rivers of london"...and thank you foxes for keeping this in our level of security.... Rivers niner your thebest
The skills grow with every video. Thanks for another solid presentation of what looks to be another exciting game and IP. I'm not a huge fan of urban/modern fantasy, but this sounds tempting.
Thanks for the kind words. I had a lot of fun with this one. Although, watching it, I have to wonder what I was looking at other than the camera. Roy or Bailey, I guess. As for the books, there are some elements of it that if someone had told me about them out of context, I never would have tried the series. That would have been a real shame as it is easily one of my favorite things to read and listen to. It defies (or redefines) my expectations. That will be a fun challenge to take on when running the game~ "What might this fictional thing be like in the Rivers of London setting that would make it both recognizable as that thing as well as engaging and interesting?"
Thank you for your overview! I'm looking into trying different RPGs now that WOTC is doing bad business with DnD 5e. I DMed my first session of Aliens RPG: Chariots of the Gods last week and it was an incredibly fun time! Definitely saw your alien videos for how to set a tone :) PS: I hope You're doing well in the new year in S. Korea and pet your dogs for me!
"...except for a few early production copies that have been released into the wild for some lucky people." Hi! I was really quite surprised when my ticket number was called at the end of the launch event at Dragonmeet!
We cannot all like all things equally. I find the game leans toward more heroic notions despite how dark it can get, but a largely corrupt met could be made to fit the tone of the IP. Simply harvesting this version of BRP for another setting is easy too~
I watched the Chaosium playthrough of an introductory scenario earlier today and I enjoyed it far more than I expected. I suspect my comment was very premature. I think I now appreciate that its set in the present so homebrew scenarios would be easy to research and create. I live in Kent and theres the village of Pluckley that in real life is meant to be one of the most haunted places in England...bang theres a starting point for a scenario@@Runeslinger

I totally agree about Kobna's contribution to the experience of the books!

Excellent overview.
Thank you~

Thanks for the kind words! Alien is very cool. We will be doing Blade Runner next.
I am always happy to pass on greetings to the pack~

Are you not in the habit of winning cool prizes? Has this experience changed your life and opened new opportunities?
I want to get this. Seems fun.
Glad to hear it~
thanks for the content, you might look at adjusting your lighting, as you have "Jason Vorhees" face. :) unless that's intentional.
The magic system seems interesting but the police stuff has no interest for me - knowing how the modern met can be corrupt Id cast them as bad guys {)
