Holy Cow Travis! Between those huge chunky agates, and that big agatized wood piece, you are going to sink your kayak! Lol! Nan those are big! And the second baculite was huge! You guys dont usually find them thar big out there! Today was a day of monsters! And that TSA was gorgeous! Just amazing fortification on that one! Such an amazing day! How far back to your boat, did you have to carry all that chinky goodness? That had to be a heavy backpack! But totally worth it! Thanks for sharing this epic day Travis!
Ha ha yeah I would have sank my kayak but luckily we had a raft for the rock carrying😅 that one island had so many fossils and big rocks it was so cool. It was a close easy walk to the boat and I already broke my backpack this year from to many rocks 🤣 so I gotta get a new one with extra strength straps 😅 thanks for watching Lisa 😁🍻
That huge ammonite or whatever it is was is way awesome. Nice chunky agates ya found too. We need to watch more of your vids. We're always impressed with what you get into.
Cool TSA, wow you're gonna have some good fishing lure material 🎣 Dang i wish Washington had monster agates, have to be lucky to find a pounder, so far my record is 1.9 pounds, hope some day i find a 1 pound Carnelian. Wouldn't that be nice, Thanks Travis enjoyed watching your rock hunt.
Awesome finds 406 Findings, wow! That big agate at the 5:35 mark is cool, and huge! So, are the fish scales a universal sign for agate? Please let me know and thank you for letting us tag along.
The big agates often have that scale skin on them, there are other rocks that have it as well but not many and using that to determine whether or not to check out the rock can get you some nice agates.
Those marks are called incipient cones. Microcrystalline stones like agate, flint, chert, etc. are able to fracture in a way called a conchoidal fracture. This is what leaves the “scooped out” features on a knapped arrowhead for example. So what you’re seeing are the little impact points from that agate tumbling down the river and being percussed by other rocks. Google “cone of percussion” for more insight into this phenomenon. Anyway, when you see a rock with all those little incipient cones you can bet you’re looking at some form of quartzite or other microcrystalline quartz like an agate. It may not always turn out to be a keeper but it’s definitely a good sign to look for. Happy hunting!
Holy cow bud. I can’t wait to come up. I would be tickled just to find that tsa or one of those bacculites with the suture lines or just one of those little waterline agates. I think you’re spoiled. Lol another awesome video bud.
Glad you didn't have to swim back with those big monstrosities! :D Gotta say, though, my favorite find was that first bacculite. Those sutures were amazing. I'm curious - if you cut that second bacculite, would the chambered structure be in there, or do you think it would be solid inside?
Thankfully we had a raft with us or I would have sanky kayak 😅 and I have broke some Baculites open and it looks just like cement inside, they look just like cement sticks if there is nothing showing it's a Baculite Fossil.
Man you always find the big ones! Cool fossils too!!! The color on those is spectacular! The Yellowstone never disappoints. Great finds! Are you going to cut any of those big agates?
It was a great float on the river, luckily I had a raft with us so I didn't have to almost sink my kayak 😅 but I may have one slabed a few times we shall see.
Gotta love the fossils and the pet wood but those massive agates are amazing. You are seriously the king agate magnet! Thanks for sharing the spoils of your hunt and maybe the eagle will get this fish next time. Cheers!
What an Amazing Day Rockhounding! Let me know what your favorite find of the day is everyone 🍻
King of the big agates!
Someone has to save the big agates from the crazy Yellowstone river 😁🍻
nice fossil
Thanks for watching 🍻
Amazing big ass agate and pet wood day! Nice bacculites as well!
It was just a good day on the river 🍻
@406findings Glad you enjoyed yourself and shared with us!
Well your big agates are awesome!! Nice work
Luckily we had a raft with us or I would have sank my kayak with the few big rocks I took with me 😅
That was a cool ride, those fossils are wild!! Next week a 20 lb agate!!👍😎👻🌶️
I won't quit looking till I get me a big ol 20 pounder 😅
Love the color of the baculite fossil also. Beautiful!
The colors can be really beautiful on the Baculites when they still have the amolite on them.
Some really cool finds! Looks like it was a great day to be out there!
Thanks and it definitely was a great day to rockhound and clean up the river of it's agates and fossil 😁
What a good day! Beautiful finds. 😊
Thanks for watching 😁
I caught one on the white lure I made today. I got a picture but no video 😂

We, as a family, used to go rock hunting at quarries next to the Mississippi river in Illinois.
It's always nice to get out with friends and family to rockhound 😁
It’s too bad that ammonite isn’t yours that was cool. But you did find some great stuff and nice fossils!
Definitely an awesome fossil but I'll let it slide since I got the big agates of the float 😁
That big-ass agate at ~13:00 is definitely my favorite. I suppose it only makes sense it has a big hole in the middle!? 😜
Ha ha indeed it's gotta have a hole in it to be a big ass agate 🤣
That huge ammonite or whatever it is was is way awesome. Nice chunky agates ya found too. We need to watch more of your vids. We're always impressed with what you get into.
It is a beast for sure and thanks for watching 🍻
Fab rocks! I hope you have access to a saw. The boats make so much sense. Thanks!
I have to send any big rocks off to people to cut them unfortunately 😔 but I may cut the big ol 8 pounder at least once.
Second! Woot!!
Cool TSA, wow you're gonna have some good fishing lure material 🎣

I do want to slab one of the big ones for some lure material 😁 keep on looking and I know you will find a big ol carnelian agate soon 🍻

@@406findings Cool beans, thank you 406.

Those big ol' agates just keep on showing up! I like the agate that had a pocket on each side. So cool. Will you be slabbing the larger agates?
It is so cool to find the big agates😁 I may have one cut and slabed I'm not to sure yet.

It is a great river with so many different things to find and we will try and get you some good stuff for sure 😁🍻
@@406findings appreciate it. Hopefully by September early.

What is the device that you are using to spray the rocks with?It would be a great help for hounders!
It's the "centurion" battery powered spray bottle, it's around $20 on Amazon or eBay.
Gotta love the fossils and the pet wood but those massive agates are amazing. You are seriously the king agate magnet! Thanks for sharing the spoils of your hunt and maybe the eagle will get this fish next time. Cheers!
I gotta get at them big ol agates before everyone else so they can join the agate crew back at home 😁 🍻
Do you cut these?
Sometimes I cut them if they are small enough for my saw otherwise I have to send them off to get cut.
You're going to need a wheelbarrow.
Ha ha lucky we had a raft with us or my kayak may have sunk 😅
Do you only look for agates? I love the petrified wood on the Yellowstone River too! Thanks!
I do get petrified wood sometimes I'm just kinda picky on the pieces I take is since I got so much at home 😅
