Good Day Capt Gabriele, can i used this thumb rule to calculated TAS if IAS ist given for every 1000 feet 2% for example we fly at flight level 35000 feet @250 Kias so Our true airspeed is 2% x 35 = 70% ; 70% x 250 Knot = 175 Knot.... So TAS = 250 Knot + 175 Knot =425 Knots?.... Is this calculation correct?
Hi! In the reality, we ll climb almost always with constant TAS being that IAS reduces with altitude. So why are we considering IAS=constant with altitude if density reduces ? I’m not understanding why u are reporting an ias constant if is not almost true in the reality. I hope you will answer to my question.🙏🫡
How a aircraft can fly at constant TAS, TAS chnages with altitude and in climb altitude is changing so how can a case of climb is possible where TAS is constant please help me in geeting this concept. Pov : I'm a Aerospace engineer
Question comes like this -> I f Aircraft with constant CAS flying from Colder Airmass to Warmer Airmass what will happen to its TAS with respect to temperatures change ? A - TAS will increase b - TAS Will decrease
Thank you for videos 👍🏼 i want to ask you to make video about behaviour of speed indicator in case of blockage of static/pitot/drain..It is difficult subject for me and for other pilots. Thanks 🙏
Many thanks for watching and the comment!! You should report the IAS, I'm uploading a practical simulator video to show how the TAS behaves when climb at constant IAS. Let me know if you still have any questions! I wish you a great day
Hi great video, but can you elaborate more why are these two airpseed important? Why do i need to care about them and which is higher or lower... at the end of the day I need to know my speed true?
Hey, many thanks for watching and the comment!! I'm uploading a new video where I answer your questions..check that out later today. Anyway you need the IAS because the performances and aerodynamics of the plane are based and calculated using the IAS as a reference..
Hey, many thanks for watching, during flight in order to calculate the GS you need to know the Tail/headwind component. The modern aircrafts gives you all these informations. If you want to calculate the wind component I guess you can use the triangle formulas. You take the heading from the compass, you need to have one in order to get your heading. Regarding the TAS there are tables that allows to calculate it from the IAS, again the most of the Jet aircrafts are able to give you this information also. I'm sure there is a formula that yuo can use in order to calculate the TAS, however I cannot recall it now. Let me know if you still have any questions. Have a great day
@@PILOTCLIMB this was for my navigation exams. I don't have a cx3 or E6B is there any books or websites i can refer to for understanding navigation numericals? Thank you
Actually one of the best explanation existing on youtube. The use of physics in your example and the speech about the pitot tube and the static port, are the best way to make people understand the differences from the base. Great work!
Many thanks for watching and the kind comment! I'm glad you liked the video! Don't hesitate to ask any question you might have when watching the rest of the videos! Have a great day!

I have never used this type of calculation however it makes sense.. have a great day

Because the purpose of the video was to show the behaviour of the IAS and TAS as the Altitude increases..Thanks for watching
Thanks, i understood! Thus for CAT operations under 300kts, is used a constant ias with tas increasing

Dear, I made more videos about Airspeed check them out
actually you use the Newtonian kinetic energy formula!!!Thank you captain!! One more excellent video!!

You are very welcome! I'll do that in the future! It's a great idea
Comment below with your questions and thoughts!! Have a great day!!
If ATC asks for the speed of the aircraft, what speed should we have to tell them, GS,TAS OR IAS ?
Your videos are amazing.!!

good Day Capt....another masterpiece video from you....Gracia.....thanks you
You are more than welcome!! Thanks for watching and the kind comment!!
Quick TAS formula: TAS = IAS + 2%/1000' E.g. at 10.000': TAS = 200 + 20% = 240 Kts.
That's awesome, thank you!!
Sir how to calculate GS , heading and TAS without a flight computer
