A simple floor access panel, and hand pump can handle any water build-up, but not sure what they intend! I've seen a few creators who know the geography, and go deep enough for a substrate which allows ample drainage, due to porous conditions! JS, yes it would be a problem, but there are even more options, than stated above, including crafting a drainage and diversion tile/ditch around the perimeter, so it wouldn't be unsolvable!
So what you made will turn out to be a boat the first heavy rainfall you get. If there’s nothing to channel that water away, you better invest in some good swimwear.
Watching the full process of building a log cabin in the wilderness is truly fascinating.Building a home in the wilderness shows incredible determination and skill.
I bet that log house looks great when its finished when dun.i live in a 2 storey log home i had built around 23 yeas ago and we love in and its built on the farm i bought that joins my grand father i just wish he had been with us to see and know where i live now for he passed aeay when i was 18 years old and now iam 65.
Amazing carpentry work that can only be mastered by someone who has attended a carpentry academy. Once again we see that evolution has programmed humans to be tropical animals. Without technology, we would have quickly frozen to death in the snow.
I see that Stihl has donated another chain saw. I have had 4 of them. Excellent tools. Gave 3 of them away because they were gas and my shoulder got we’re and I couldn’t pull the starter rope without pain. My electric Stihl is the best.
This is a Very Good Video on How Too. Good Work Details 👏👏👏💯 Thanks 😊 Ohh mind you I would have…… Ohh yes add another layer of Foil. Perfect ha.👍🤙👌 Hi Doggy’s. 😊
Sure looks it. Maybe not "commerical lumber" but probably cut with a portable mill. You couldn't cut that many planks to that kind of accuracy using a hand-held chainsaw.
Very nice construction, but mold will definitely be an issue with the underground construction. Why not build at ground level, and avoid that problem. Why do all that digging?
I'm Certain the planning they did on this they added crushed small stones around the perimeter on the cabin build or added in stones and 8" plastic tubes with holes drilled in it to take water and run it away from the cabin around perimeter
@TictoffPatriot They didn't. You saw them shove dirt straight down the sides to hold the wall boards in place. Unless there's a whole lot more clay in that soil then I think there is, this was built for the views, not to be lived in.
Still trying to figure out why they put the flue through the wall and then through the roof rather than strait through the roof which would draw better, would have been quicker to fit and cheaper.
A lot of hard work and nice woodworking ...... the premise that a sunken foundation is asking for trouble ........... you will have a low point negative ground resistance to rain water intrusion ( Hydraulic Pressure being unavoidable) THEREBY destroying what was otherwise well conceived ! GBjj
Do you honestly think they didn’t know this ? A friend of mine has built cabins like this in Norway near Lofoten Islands and the plumbing is bang on . Eastern Europeans are very thorough ,with attention to detail ,like OCD.
I bet if just one of the early American pioneers had dreamt up the idea of putting wool felt batting in between their logs or planing off the sides of the logs it would have spread like wildfire, and there would not have been so many deaths caused by freezing or overloading/overheating their stoves 'till they cracked and poisoned them with gasses while they slept. I am real interested to know whether that door well is going to flood in a heavy rain or not, and how you will prevent it.
@iamlsusam yes, correct. we have have many different ants in Australia and we have on average 6 different types on almost any property around Australia
What keeps the water from settling in the hole???
They don't care. All they want is some YTube views

After 5 years it is mouldy everywhere.if not wet. I wish im wrong.
Yoda. 🐸
All that work and you didn't acount for drainage, heavy rains from roof will go right down...
my thoughts exactly
Good build but Not to last😂... I dont understand why to bother building If dont Care with the important stuff
That's an inappropriate screenname.
I truly hate clickbait pictures why do this
nice but you built a mold trap
So what you made will turn out to be a boat the first heavy rainfall you get. If there’s nothing to channel that water away, you better invest in some good swimwear.
They must be good, they didn't change clothes at all
Having watched this video in its entirety, in my humble opinion neither storm or ground water would be a problem. Clay is the answer!!

I have followed your journey for a long time and your building skills are amazing 😍
I wish i could found my budy who can help me build its this look so amazing❤
the weight of the forest above...my senses are overwhelmed...never heard of such things....
Really excellent watching the construction of a cabin in the forest by just two guys and of course the dog.
Your awning still lets in moisture, and that will make itself felt over time.
I admire the strength and perseverance 0f these guys. The work is beautiful. I would love to see a follow-up in a couple years.
The B.O. in that cabin is going to get epic by February.
Doesn't the tarp rot away fairly fast?
that thing was not canvas....
The tarps won't last that long.moisture will still get in.
We built treehouses and forts when we were kids. Just like these dudes are doing. Our 3story treehouses were our castles. Miss those days
Thank you very much, I hope you will support me.
Great job on the cabin. I like it. You guys have some serious skills.
Ii like the size they start already 👍not coffin size like the others 😊
With all that clay it would seem they're digging a pool
wow,,,precision!!!!
This was really good . well done :)
Im jealous, great job
The guys just ❤ wood
Very awesome and unique bedding

Tried to watch but got Logged out...before they got waterlogged 😁.
well great job
Nice work.
Nice pond
Fachowa robota brawo ❤️💗💗💗💗❤️💓💗💗❤️

AI. Not real, working in outdoor snow and cold , absolutely no cold breath !
This is a Very Good Video on How Too. Good Work Details 👏👏👏💯 Thanks 😊
Ohh mind you I would have…… Ohh yes add another layer of Foil. Perfect ha.👍🤙👌
Hi Doggy’s. 😊
Those aren't hand-ripped planks made with a chain saw. That's commercial lumber.
Sure looks it. Maybe not "commerical lumber" but probably cut with a portable mill. You couldn't cut that many planks to that kind of accuracy using a hand-held chainsaw.
Definitely noticed that from the bed lats on...
Great video
I don’t hear a generator that powers the saws.
Awesome 👍
Very nice construction, but mold will definitely be an issue with the underground construction. Why not build at ground level, and avoid that problem. Why do all that digging?
Where's the drainage system.
I'm Certain the planning they did on this they added crushed small stones around the perimeter on the cabin build or added in stones and 8" plastic tubes with holes drilled in it to take water and run it away from the cabin around perimeter

Great job 6
The thumbnail is deceptive. I thought they were going to build a full-on basement.
Yes, that's right.
Still trying to figure out why they put the flue through the wall and then through the roof rather than strait through the roof which would draw better, would have been quicker to fit and cheaper.
I belive they know what there doing they have a good reason for building the way they did.
What a lovely view! But then, nobody buys a house for the view.
No ventilation 🤔
Thank you very much, I hope you will support me.
J’adore ❤
Thank you so much! I will try to make more great videos, so please remember to watch them.
Speechless and loves it 😍😍
Thank you very much ,
Good
Why say at the beginning that it's just them two ?, When at 10.39 who's using the shovel on the far right of the picture.😂

эй......
Thank you for watching my video, I hope you will support me.
A layer of foil???
You mean a plastic tarp.
Dream house! Built by real hands❤ but yes, we will need some drainage there.
Thank you very much, I hope you will support me.
Would have cost £100000.00 to make that in the UK!
In Wisconsin you can’t get anything done… the insects keep flying off with you.

Will there be problems with snow melt/ rain runoff under floor? Those tarps will rot after time?
the frost line is 3 feet below the surface
With that amount of green lumber, you will have problems in a short time
WOW, You guys are going to piss off Sasquatch.
What I dont understand is they have a battery powered radial saw and still use a hand saw?😮
Wow nice. Double up that bed and cuddle and stay warm boys
Thank you very much, I hope you will support me.
Same clothes same clickbaiting I think they built this in 45 minutes them guys are awesome their power rangers
I bet if just one of the early American pioneers had dreamt up the idea of putting wool felt batting in between their logs or planing off the sides of the logs it would have spread like wildfire, and there would not have been so many deaths caused by freezing or overloading/overheating their stoves 'till they cracked and poisoned them with gasses while they slept.

why did you dig it in ?
Because of the warmth inside the earth
@sabinesabine3878 yes
They have done this before
If you made this here in Australia the white ants would turn that timber to dust in 6 to 12 months.
😮
I guess you mean termites?
@iamlsusam yes, correct. we have have many different ants in Australia and we have on average 6 different types on almost any property around Australia
