Only artist that makes me go: Oh god, not another astonishing song Like it'd be one thing if he made a bunch of mediocre songs but no! This fucker insists on making amazing music
You're the subtitles on the demise of humanity, the universe awoke us to experience itself and we manufactured suffering in an endless sea of possibility. It's beautifully sad.
ikr? This man has epic lyrics! Mind🤯 Keep ignoring those power lines I helped build Jesse! I can't play 🎸 but Jesus couldn't climb, he got hung up trying to help the Romans with a cross arm.
If he was putting out one song of this quality each month I'd be highly impressed. He puts a new one out roughly on a daily basis. Each song deserves study. This is not your average songwriter.
There's no real way to tell where this ships a sailing, but most folks are starting to see the Evil and the direction we're all headed. But you Jesse with your witty, sarcastic, and thought provoking lyrics have touched a lot peoples souls...including mine. Never forget folks all actions have consequences, some good, some ugly, some downright disastrous. SO love your neighbor, help others when they're down, be a strong shoulder to lean on, do what you know is right out of Love and Compassion, not out of self gain or the promise of Grandeur. We're all in this together folks! I'll see you Sir in Atlanta....
Just wow. I want to put this out there. If you can find ways to make connections and form plans to resist what’s happening do what you can offline. The enemy owns all the means of online discourse and organizing. They can manipulate and even blackout whatever they want. Find people locally, IRL and keep things as off the books as you can. I’ve started putting out feelers with face to face meetups where I am. We all feel beaten down and powerless but people do want to do something. We aren’t as alone as we feel
man your a fucking living legend ya have no idea the help you give me in getting through my day. honestly ya just seem so shit cool and your music is so down to earth and real keep doing what your doing man
He's genuinely an amazing generational talent. I work graveyard shift at a convenience store and play him every shift. Not only does his music help me through my shifts, the customers that come in are also affected. Not a shift goes by without at least 3 people asking me who he is. I constantly see people pulling their phone out to utilize their "what song is this" app. All races, all ages, all genders, all kinds of (working class) people are genuinely touched by this music.
he's killing us.... I'm totally over-welled... it's like reading 10 books in one day 😁... keeps my brain working in overtime.... well welled, Jesse, well welled... Take care of yourself, don't burn out, we need you.
Jesse Wells only gets better ! Does this boy even sleep at night? The articulate wordsmithing of events everyone can relate to is a phenomena of its own. His mind must be a whirlwind ! Such wisdom in lyric only comes through personal pain. I pray for your peace, Jessie.
Jesse Welles, you are a true troubadour. Composing new songs about life as it is, as it is happening and as it is changing, poking fun at the establishment and having fun with the world around you. I look forward to your songs because they make me think. Thanks.
Man, it’s a wild world out there! Feels like everyone's got their heads stuck in a never-ending Twitter battle royale-propaganda ping-pong, tech titans wrestling warlords for the ultimate boss level of world control, and the news? Oh, the news is like a buffet of junk food for the mind, all sugar, no soul. But you know what? There’s still magic. Real, raw, poetic magic-like Jesse’s words, man, they hit. And then there’s 100 Years of Solitude-oh, Netflix, you beautiful beast, you did it justice! That kind of storytelling? That’s the good stuff. Life’s not so bad when you can step back, breathe deep, and let the important things actually matter. Stay weird, stay curious, and for the love of all things holy-never lose your sense of wonderr! Peace to Ya ,folks
Hello! I wonder how your garden grows! Thanks for the bright words of seeds growing. I hope love smashes into you today like a rowdy shower and your fingers dance on black magic buttons sharing wisdom's stories.
Thirty-five years and the world still turns, Cities in ashes, bridges that burn. And I cry, oh Lord, do I cry- Watching the innocent suffer and die. And I wake in the morning, step out the door, Take a deep breath, but I’m wanting more. And I scream from the top of my lungs, What’s going on? What’s going wrong? Bombs fall heavy where children should play, A mother holds hope, but it drifts away. Lines are drawn, and flags are waved, But who counts the bodies? Who digs the graves? And up in the sky where the metal birds fly, A misstep, a crash, and more people die. They call it an error, they call it fate, But it's blood on the hands of a cold, blind state. So I sing to the wind, to the rolling sky, Hoping that love won’t just pass me by. And I pray for the day when we all belong, And we don’t have to ask what’s going on.
Jesse, I think you’ve opened a portal, man. You’ve got something magical, mystifying, and divine channeling through you, and we are in awe of and so grateful for it. It’s like the more you release, the more space you make. Your gift is a genuine privilege to witness. Thank you.
That is an amazing song, as good as they ever come, “will we measure Mars in acres”, brilliant alliteration of a very poetic treatment of sentiment and imagined future, I can visualize what you are saying, that’s good writing!
Your creativity is amazing.. I marvel at the variance of rhythem and sounds you are managing with the shear level of material you are producing. You are inspiring an old man back to his guitar, that was abandoned due to not quite having the level of "performance perfection" pass required of self judgement. You have clearly met and destroyed this barrier, that kills many a would be creator and performer of music. Bravo, and carry on.
@@margaretd.2490 I think it's about the hubris and absurdity of humans, here there seems to be a narrator who is imagining a futuristic setting on a farmed out, dusty and exploited earth, with no more animals('buffalo put away') who is either thinking about or actually leaving earth to go plant a flag on mars. The narrrator seems to be a sarcastic , but also regretful person, he starts pondering life, history, his relationship to his god, the nature of us humans. As he is in the spaceship he is missing the 80s. It seems like he is worried that in the lonliness of this empty new planet (or space) he will find that even here his troubles have followed him,( or he has different new issues, but noone there to blame so he's finally gotta face them.). But theres lots more layers and symbolism there to unpack. For example " Supernova bleaches me " could refer to that he leaves the safety of earth's magnetic field, and is exposed to all the radiation out there.., "measure in acres" his kind of ironic on a planet without agriculture, "put the sky in chains " probably to get to dominate space,. That's just a rough outline of what i got.

Listened to this on your Live last night . Another stop and think about it moment for us. I love how you love words and how you are able to seamlessly string them together to shine a different shade of sanity on harsh current events. I find myself anticipating your next soul exposure . Thank you for sharing you with all of us. We hooked❤
I was in a patient's room and they were listening to the Price is Right. I started to have flashbacks and felt sick. I have started trying to shun anything that makes me feel some kinda way. Thank you, Jesse for another song that perfectly describes how a lot of us are feeling. ❤
Left me feeling full and empty at the same time. Like, here we are, nothing really matters, maybe it should, but I havnt got any horse in the race so, might as well sit back. This is an instant hit. About to listen for 3rd time 😂
It's not easy to memorize all these new songs in a couple of days but I can't figure out how can you write them down in such a short amount of time! Damn Jesse, is there even a stop to your creativity?!
Some genius lyrics here and the fact the word malaise fitted in perfectly at the end. Great fills, vocal tone, simple melody. Glad you left the harnonica out of this one. Hey i dont need to blow your trumpet you blow it yourself
This one’s a banger, Jesse, the way you tell the truth and I have always loved Sci Fi, since I discovered my first book “Have Spacesuit, Will Travel”, in 4th grade, now we’re living in the “Future”. When I read every futuristic book I could find, 1984 sounded so faraway of in the early 1960’s, when I lived through 1984, it was wild, a total pivot in my life, I got pregnant after trying for 10 years and we moved from California to Washington State, something I definitely didn’t see coming, but I am so grateful. Rural living is the best, I don’t like big cities, they’re fine to visit, but I need to know I’m coming home to the San Juans.
Jesse please I cannot keep up
But please don't stop!! 😂
