Listening to this really makes me appreciate Mike Dirnt’s bass work that much more. The guy really is a master at playing the bass guitar. Mad respect for you my guy, you kicked ass with this cover, playing bass like this is no simple task.
You also have to admire how Mike and Tre can cohesively play together. Bass and drums are critical to any successful band in any genre. Green Day had trouble playing with Tre Cool during their early years. Now, Tre Cool is compared to John Bonham and Keith Moon. Green Day is always sharp on stage.

I can't do this so I just play with my fingers, which I prefer anyway, or I pick much less aggressively, but of course I don't get the same tone.
i’m able to play like this, it’s a mix between muting with fretting hand jd just learning to be accurate and good for arm strength helps ( i’ve never had a gf so the forearm strength was easy )
