    Well explained for edit and macro making --- I wish it was that easy every time . Forgotten PS but I'm sure actions were easier but nothing beats Lightroom (Lr5 lol) for saving a preset . So easy compared AP .
    Couple of tips for the less experienced .
    Instead of one big marco I find it easier to make set of smaller/simpler macros and then run those into one big macro .
    If making a macro from relatively new edit ; it can pay to write a list in the order of adjustments so it all runs smoothly --- so easy to forget just one step
    5:43 adjust blur strength -- up/down arrow keys can be used also --- work with all similar adjustment

      From what I can remember Photoshop was roughly the same for recording Actions/Macros but I haven't used LR.
      Thanks for the tips 😄

    Hello, Thank you for making this tutorial. Much appreciated! I am having an issue, when I click on Gaussian Blur in new live filter layer, it does not automatically insert itself as child layer into the pixel layer. It shows on top of the pixel layer and when I move the Gaussian layer it will not record as a pop[ up window states cannot record move. How do I make the live Gaussian layer a child layer when I click on it from the tool bar?

    Thanks. I followed along and was able to create the Macro with no missteps, which is highly unusual for me.

    Thank you very much for the time you have taken to make this content. Very well presented and easy to follow. Just one question are these tutorials in Affinity Photo ver.1 ? I am new to Affinity and have purchased version 2 there seems to be some differences as I am following along and for some reason and I have done it 3 times now, the painted cafe has not worked for me although I read that others have had success. Thank you again for your time.

      Hi Mick Bencher, yes this was made in Affinity Photo V1 and unfortunately some of the new features in V2 mean that it does not work. That was the bad news, the good news is I will be bringing the Macro technique up to date very soon. :) Cheers David

    Want to try this. What size image is best and is simple or busy best. I will be using it mostly on wildflowers. Been looking at your videos and they have been helpful. Thank you.

      Hi jo smith, the image used in the video was from a mobile phone but it will work with a dSLR image providing it wasn't too large... this will depend on your camera and experiment with the G Blur setting ie. larger filers will need more G Blur. Best thing is experiment and once you have recorded the Macro you can try it on simple and busy images and see what works for you. Wild flowers, I would be tempted to reduce the opacity of the sketch layer slightly to add a touch of colour, worth trying :) Pleased to hear the videos have been helpful :)

      Pleased to hear that you found it useful Chris James . I agree, all you get is a message saying "cannot record moves". Hopefully in updates to come? Cheers David

      If you go up to arrange, move outside, it can record that.

    where does one find macros?

    • @davro06
      @davro06  2 года назад +1

      Greg do you mean where is the panels located or where can you find new macros? The panel is under View > Studio > Macros and for new Macros try the Affinity website or might be worth Googling Affinity Macros. Hope this helps, Cheers David
