So tempting to get these traditional pots of different shapes, i use these for pickles. We should use such traditional things and support locals. manufactures.
This ancient craft should be kept alive, and be given the respect it deserves by introducing pottery classes at the school level. Not only will the children learn something useful but they will appreciate the beauty and value of artisinal work. I salute these amazing potters. True artists. Every piece is an enduring work of art , and not what those pretenders with their ridiculous installations, pass off as art at Bienalle's in the name of contemporary, celebrated art. These potters have magic in their hands. The government should provide them at the earliest, with a structured wage scale, basic housing, clothes , free medical care and free education for their children . The legacy these humble artisans proudly carry on, is a testament of our ancient culture. They , and not the arrogant, globe trotting IT professionals. should be given every bit of financial assistance to ensure for them a stable morrow , for these living legends are the soul of India.
Now THAT is true labor. So much blood and sweat poured into those pottery. And at the end of the day, everyone may be tired but they sure are proud of what they produced. I watched this with pure joy because I don’t see this type of work everyday. Hats off to these men and women. If you sell in the USA I would be patronizing your business. Thank you for sharing.
