He wasn't in my life much but he taught me to have great pride iny curly hair early.

South Africans don't make afrobeats that's a west African Sound specifically Nigerian. Afrobeat artists on the other hand imitate the amapiano sound, that does not then make Amapiano Afrobeats. What's ampiano? Lmao I'm an afro Latino with no connection to my afro side of my family. My dad is from El Salvador and he had strong curls dark skin and was so proud of them he would legit stop while coming from the store in front of the reflective windows he would notice his hair. And say "oye 'pera mijo" and take out a a pick comb from his other back pocket and legit would lightly comb his hair. He wasn't in my life much but he taught me to have great pride iny curly hair early.
But there's Really nothing Afrobeat about this, you're forcing it. Watch her interviews where she clearly states that this song is Pop-Piano. Pop music/ RnB mixed with Amapiano. South Africans don't make afrobeats that's a west African Sound specifically Nigerian. Afrobeat artists on the other hand imitate the amapiano sound, that does not then make Amapiano Afrobeats. It's Afrobeat artists who changed their sound not the other way around.
