henrique lopes Thankfully not... Slid into grass for about 60 yards and lightly smacked a tree, but enough to total my car. Me and my passenger were unscathed. Scary day.
It's like that with everything. I've never seen so many professional lawyers, doctors, engineers, scientists, political analysts, etc congregate in one spot. Nearly every video. They're all over the place.
I'm not. But I drove Porsches for 6-7 years (accident-free) and once did an advanced driving course precisely to avoid situations like the one in this video. The guy driving the Ferrari is a bloody idiot. There are plenty of idiots out there, and you don't need to be a professional driver to spot one. Not even if you're one yourself, to be honest.....
A good driver would have kept the car in higher gears, especially in the corner, for smoother power delivery to prevent the loss of traction. By going down too many gears in the corner, the engine braking functioned like a handbrake. An experience driver would have instinctually spun the steering wheel left as soon as he lost traction, that slide could have easily been saved.
The mistake was that he downshifted, but tbh in these conditions on public roads he handled it best. If he turned the wheel left he would have run the risk of overcorrecting, catching some snap-oversteer, and sliding right into the oncoming traffic.
This is because hi is not a good driver.... he is not a race driver, he is just him feeling like boss. poor. Its most cheap to pay in a racing track that the hospital because of racing y public roads.
Kmi OsorioP Yeah it's his fault he got in the situation, but he handled it properly. If he'd bothered to correct it the car may have hooked up and turned the other way, into oncoming traffic.
+enrique3402 sorry to say but you are wrong, he had too much momentum on a slippery surface to abruptly change direction. He should have tried to steer the other way and correct the cars alignment, i have raced since i was 12 including motocross which is 100% racing on slippery surfaces.
Bald tires & high-powered MR machines don't mix well... Your friend was VERY LUCKY that the F430 didn't decide to continue to slide towards the pole sideways. I'd buy a lottery ticket afterwards.
He changed gear during the corner, and the car started hydroplaning not much he could do after that, but it was his mistake from the start. Do not cross your hands like that when steering the wheel, if the tyres found traction with hand crossed like that, you would end up in the opposite traffic lane. You were lucky anyway you didn't total it.
Also another problem was the F430 started hydro-planing, that's when a layer of water builds up between the tires and road surface eventually getting thicker and thicker causing the car to have 0% grip. After this happens the car will keep sliding and will only stop if it either hits an obstruction or goes off road, the driver cannot do anything...
i mean he could have turned slightly rather then keep the wheels straight. the ABS and traction control was clearly working keeping the car straight as if it was turned off he would have totally spun off. Props to all the systems we have on cars now
No, it wouldn't. Learn how the ESP work. Aggressively trying to counter is the last thing ESP would do. Tip: don't talk about thing you know nothing about. You can clearly see the manettino is on the 11-12 o'clock position, which is a sport setting most likely, or maybe a race setting, both of which keep the ESP turned on but only activate it when you really lose control, and it lets the car slide a bit. It's not a standard ESP setting that cuts in at the slightest trace of wheels slipping.
Amit Parmar that's for pussys and noobs not for real drivers we all know that, he just took a little time to correct the slide and then it was too late
Guys, the driver wasn't a bad driver at all. He had no trouble kicking the tail out and keeping the car in control many times earlier in the video. The accident happened when the car began to hydro-plane. No amount of Traction control, counter-steering, and throttle control could have saved it. Why? No front or rear grip. This wasn't driver error really. Stop being bench racers.
Well... almost. The driver could have known with the little remaining tread, standing water combined with his speed there was a risk of hydroplaning. Still, as soon as it happened there was nothing he could do.
....You do know by doing donuts on any vehicle means .. burning, scraping off the Tire tread leaving no traction to the Real world driving. especially in rain you need the tire tread to grip the road and slip away the amount of tread lines you got, it's different for Racing, Drag racing.
But the ferrari probably been doing so many donuts and left him with Little bit of treads or non at all and that's probably the reason why he lost control ..
He was only going about 45mph, and didn't even try to save it.. Just cut the wheel ans slammed on brakes. I wish inexperienced drivers would stick to inexpensive cars.
In case some of you didn't notice, HE HAD BALD TIRES. THAT IS WHY HIS CAR SLID SO MUCH. STOP ACTING LIKE IT'S SOME KIND OF SUPERNATURAL OCCURRENCE THAT HIS CAR SLID OUT LIKE THAT
TLDR; 1. ALWAYS use performance tires with plenty of tread (not slicks or near bald) and that perform well on wet roads (especially when on an open road and when water could be present), 2. Never disable Traction control/ESC unless on a slow/closed course.... Follow these and save lives
Why all the hate? Although he is not the best of drivers, he's got the balls to take his Ferrari out in the wet while most stay in a heated garage. To be fair, he didn't see to be driving that fast or recklessly and the road was also quiet. Hope the car was alright.
The Ferrari did not lose control....the driver did lose control and you have to be a special kind of moron to go fast with rain on public roads... After the slide I was expecting to pop up from somewhere Nelson and hear the famous HA HA!
Lol he perfectly said it. Who the fuck speeds on public windy roads with elevation changes and rain for the cherry on the top. U don't don't know shit. Get back to taking selfies
I was about to write " you should've got out and checked if you broke the radiator tank..." then I thought... its a ferrari... and I don't know whether the radiator is behind, on the trunk, on the roof, inside the dashboard or under the passenger side seat...
I think the issue is a combination of lift off over-steer and the engine dropping down into a lower gear which gave the rear wheels more torque than needed. I'm wondering if he could of saved it by mashing the accelerator for a short burst of power to get the rear end all the way around and perform a 360 and continue on in a slower gear. Either way he's lucky the car hit the grass scuff marks and scratches are better than a replacement door.
you can drive them in the rain (thats why it has wipers) you just shouldnt drive fast. just like all cars! if you drive fast on wet road, there is a possibility of sliding.
Some People forget that tires can make a world of difference, obviously. That's a performance upgrade that should be done as with anything else. All the horsepower or cornering capability in the world doesn't matter if you buy your tires at Wal-Mart.
You understand performance tires are generally summer or hot road tires, not wet. When I drop Potenza RE-11s on my car they might as well be ice skates when it starts raining. I've had scary moments in wet weather with those tires. But my best lap times on dry hot days were with them. Similar situation for him, likely.
This was good. I like how it gradually built the tension, though the pacing is a little bit questionable. The plot advances very slowly, which is uncommon, to say the least, for this genre. The cinematography, as other reviewers pointed out, is superb: I especially appreciate the found footage style, though it must be said that it is an expedient which tends to be overused. Unfortunately however, in the end it lacks gore, which is definitely something the audience usually seeks, and the climax is a bit of a disappointment. All in all, a good, solid first attempt, with great cinematography and thrilling stunts, ultimately let down by questionable pacing and a disappointing ending. Final verdict: 3.5 moons out of 5. 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑
Steer the steering wheel quickly to the left to regain grip (more surface area in the direction you are sliding towards) and then back again to the right
I think that's great that you drive your Ferrari hard. And when you do, some things can happen. You reacted quickly enough not to crash and that's great. There are so many videos of posers driving their Ferraris 5mph along the boulevards, drag racing, doing burnouts, donuts etc. Anyone can do that. Driving fast through corners is difficult. But you can do it. Respect!
the more high performance tires usually have less tread. im guessing they had the perreli p-zero summer tires on. less tread, rain, and a rwd car a lot of things can happen.
Rain starts to get heavier and heavier, does he not see what the road is like with all the water? Sooner or later, you will be floating on water, aka aquaplaning
Drive like that in NZ...cutting corners, crossing centreline in the rain no less and you get stopped by the locals and ass kicked....i hope you've written off both those cars by now
at what time did he cross the centre line? also im a kiwi too never seen people get lynched for their driving so please stop giving all of us a shit name
Yeah...... 10 years ago I did hear two loud bangs all the way up here in Canada! Must have been two bungs slamming shut during that slide.... I live in Vancouver and it pisses down rain here constantly. I've had a few 'woopsie-daisies' in my Cayman S.... Happens. Take care Lads and happy motoring!
A prime example of using the wheel and not freaking out like everyone else does. My mom totaled my M3 driving in the rain. Flipped it once because she turned too quickly.
For the people saying he can't drive, you don't know how hard it is to keep control of a powerful car on a wet twisty road. Just a tiny blip of throttle can cause oversteer.
Spend some time driving in the uk, never stops bloody raining here. 2008 we had a total of 300 days of registered precipitation where I live, d'oh. So all you do is drive on wet roads.
You did it well as good as you could.. Not everybody is a master driver like almost all youtubers here.. Lol.. Wish you the best.. Enjoy the ride bro..
Impressive, glad everybody is safe and the car as well. Did the car hydroplane first and then you lifted the gaz pedal or did you lift the gaz in that curve which provoked the spin? Lifting the gaz on a powerful rear-wheel drive in a wet curve is an easy way to send it into a spin: either on purpose or not : - /
Best camera man in a youtube video ever. Actually zoomed out as they started to slide. All you co pilots out there, take note.
+Fresno4runner Yeah!!! :D
Fresno4runner let's not Forget he stayed cool plus said to the driver if he wanted him to look at the damage with a cool voice 😂
yh, rather than pointing the camera down
Nothing beats the camera man that recorded everything, Including the E-Brake being pulled before impact.
4:17 is what you are looking for
I don't know why people just dont cut to the chase when posting these videos lol
thanks

thank you😆
Divine Gaming jajaja gracias genio!
The tires were bald, it was raining, and there were constant elevation changes and turns. You really pushed your luck.
Hank Hill Yup, rain and bald tires was how I totaled my car last year
***** Me too, almost! Went hydroplaning into a chicane with a 20 ft drop to the side! Wheels snagged at the last minute!
***** anyone got hurt?
henrique lopes Thankfully not... Slid into grass for about 60 yards and lightly smacked a tree, but enough to total my car. Me and my passenger were unscathed. Scary day.
***** glad to hear that no one got hurt!
That dude is so lucky the car avoided the guardrail and the telephone pole.
"The car"? I think you mean, "that dude is so lucky he avoided the guardrail and the telephone pole".
He was stupid because he hit the brakes
@@wickeddominata8025 at that speed i would be more worried about the car
The slide stars at 4:18. You're welcome.

Everybody in the comments are professional drivers it looks like
Actually... I am... Driver sucks.
ikr like wtf people in the comment section think they know how to drive but there probably not even old enough to drive yet. smh.

More like you're lucky there wasn't a telephone pole there. Dumbass.

a good driver would take it to the track
The mistake was that he downshifted, but tbh in these conditions on public roads he handled it best. If he turned the wheel left he would have run the risk of overcorrecting, catching some snap-oversteer, and sliding right into the oncoming traffic.

don't buy a car you can't afford tires for..
Overstreet Cycles i would say it's a 500 plus hp car. Even just a little throttle will kick it out. Especially in the rain
+justin johnson or tires
2kwik not even good tires could stop that seeing the speed he was going and how much water was on the road
justin johnson what do you mean? the driver even says the tires are bald as fuck and they show a picture of them at the end lol
@@Rixhz34 true but any car with 500 hp will kick in wet road no matter what you got on

high performance car, low performance Driver.

I think most people watching this video know what hydroplaning is...
Well, he could have let off the brakes...
I like how the perception of speed comes back every time the guy zooms out all the way back.
That takes a lot of balls to drive at such high speed on those road conditions with such bald tires. Either that, or stupidity.
+bobos245 Stupidity. Balls have the firefighters who try to rescue such People out of their burning wrecks if they have less luck but this idiots.
+Jeno Märchenwald Haha yeah I was being facetious.
bobos245 Yes, I know:-).
when the car spun out he was doing like 40 mph in a high gear low rpm....
that was actually pretty well saved. most people would waaaay overreact and make it much worse.
Panik
i mean he could have turned slightly rather then keep the wheels straight. the ABS and traction control was clearly working keeping the car straight as if it was turned off he would have totally spun off. Props to all the systems we have on cars now
Say "thank you Mr. ESP for not letting the car spin completely".
Amen
+derbigpr500 The car is slipping around practically from the beginning, yet the driver keeps trying to push his luck. Yep, he needs ESP.
No, it wouldn't. Learn how the ESP work. Aggressively trying to counter is the last thing ESP would do.
Tip: don't talk about thing you know nothing about. You can clearly see the manettino is on the 11-12 o'clock position, which is a sport setting most likely, or maybe a race setting, both of which keep the ESP turned on but only activate it when you really lose control, and it lets the car slide a bit. you can hear it clicking away when he starts sliding. IM sure it would have been worse without. probably a full 360
Got money for Ferrari, but no money for new tires.
seems legit to me
:)
That's what I'm sayin to etc!
I was about to say the same thing
Performance tires usually aren't the best at dissipating water and are usually more slippery in the rain. Fucking idiots.
What? Summer tires are good in rain if not better than all seasons
Amateur drivers, that's why you turn the traction control on in the rain..
Amit Parmar that's for pussys and noobs not for real drivers we all know that, he just took a little time to correct the slide and then it was too late

thx bro
skip to 4:15
Don't follow a driver that can drive faster take it in your own pace
This is why you do donuts AFTER you race, not before.
And why is that?
Adrian Bugajski So you will have tread.
Ryan Dowd the amount of tire they actually took off with those wet burnouts is almost none so I don't think this was caused by the burnouts

driving with bald tires in the rain like this in a hot car is kind of fun and crazy. Nicely done, and I appreciate the share :) Enjoy life.
Always turn your wheels in the direction of the skid.
He did...
He held the brakes tho

he had bald tires guys....kind of a bad idea if you ask me, and lookie what happens lol
Nick Adkins can afford a rarri but not tires that are worth a damn lmao broke nigga tryna flex
I know this road. It is just outside of Denver. I learned my lesson about driving on bald tires and hydroplaning a long time ago.
very annoying. why gave this car to the camry driver?
thank you for showing us a sign that there is still hope for humanity on this earth
i had exactly the same situation in the rain but with a fiat punto :D
Pro tip, do not drive over road striping when driving aggressively in low traction situations. That’s what kicked the rear out.

Its all about the tires kids.

Cool Car and Nice Roads! It's always fun to drive through the mountains.
The question is, did it get damaged???
nilzr1 no! not even a scratch :)
you were lucky that day. the guardrail ended just before your wipeout
Steer the steering wheel quickly to the left to regain grip (more surface area in the direction you are sliding towards) and then back again to the right

Wow I really didn't think you guys were going that fast ! Glad you guys came out ok !

Hence my reasoning for liking AWD vehicles. Never had problems like this in the rain in my BMW's or Audi's with AWD.

You must know a guy that nearly crashes his car, nearly crashes his car, and eventually wrecks it.
this is when someone from japan buys a ferrari and still mounts a HD monitor inside it
4:00 thank me later

Rain starts to get heavier and heavier, does he not see what the road is like with all the water? Sooner or later, you will be floating on water, aka aquaplaning

Time must've stopped at 4:20. I've never had never had a slide like that. It either catches or it doesnt. Yours was just floating on the cusp
What a nice road! I'd be worried for my license if I had this near me
woo, close call amigo. Good to see nothing happened.
Enjoy the Ferrari in great health!

Funny cause you drive with bald tires till something like this happens....then from there on out you ALWAYS make sure your tires are good😂
It's a thing called throttle control. Useful when driving a RWD in the rain.
@Speedracer38 Is that by any chance Central City Parkway (kinda looks like it)? I'd like to check it out; it looks like a nice drive.
Impressive, glad everybody is safe and the car as well. Did the car hydroplane first and then you lifted the gaz pedal or did you lift the gaz in that curve which provoked the spin? Crystification oops... Meant "throttle", not gaz
Good control by driver .... Respect! No damage
Wow he was lucky didnt even go that fast
It looks like it was hailing. So icy + wet roads don't really mix with race tires.
