In Frontiers, Tails did mention how he was haunted by a dark illusion of himself in Cyberspace. We would later see it in the Final Horizons update serving as a challenge in some Cyberspace stages. So it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Sonic himself may have been haunted by dark illusions of his friends during his corruption.
Despite this, he would keep pushing forward. Not giving up until finally gaining control over the very corruption he was consumed by and use it to finally put an end to The End’s reign of destruction.
This was a solid watch. Great work on the dub and great work to the original creator of the comic.
Watching these types of scenarios makes me so frustrated that we didn't get to fight Sonic while being fully corrupted by The End during the base game or DLC. It could've been an awesome concept, but alas, we gotta enjoy what the fans create instead.
Still, great job, everyone! It was a delight watching this amazing comic dubbed! ❤

Honestly a corrupted sonic cliff hanger for frontiers would be a good start for another game, like imagine the race between corrupted sonic normal sonic fighting for control while the cast goes for the chaos emeralds.
If that did happen there could be a interesting plot where sonic seemingly escapes from control but he doesn't have a body instead being in cyberspace like the others except his presence also effects the normal world turning into cyberspace for brief periods depending on where sonic is and for the sake of simplicity lets say he can see both dimensions, I imagine he would be the key to tie both realities together and the faker who has his real body doesn't realize that he is gone until he realizes the fact he is needed as the key.
Just imagine how interesting that would be for gameplay with it allowing him to slightly control the island by creating platforms for other characters which I would have him look like one of the enemies on the island for everyone else and unable to communicate making the cast attack him or think he is friendly because of the weird mannerisms that would likely come out of sonic.

That segment represents Sonic trapped in cyberspace, and The End is playing tricks on him with evil lookalikes of his friends to make him think he’s failed, and to create a living nightmare for him. Those aren’t his real friends. They would never do that to him.
