I LOVE TThis Video aand i wil make PMR446 Filter Witth The Info You Gave Me, Thank You So Much. If YoU need Any USSR Part Or SOmething, Ask Me, I Can Hook You Up For Something Ptronix Im So Glad I Went To A House Of My Friend Whos Grandparrenst Pas3ed Away, The Granbdad Was Atv mechanic And radio Ham In USSR, Turned Out he Was A KGB Aggent To, But The Things i Got From The House Are Just Priceless TO me, Sheets Of Braass, Sheets Of Copper, The BEST Coaxial Cables Money Could Buy back In 1970 And Believe Me, They Don`t make Em Like That Anymore, Everything is PURE Copper With Silver Plating, All The Jackets In The Coaxials Are Not Only With Wire Mesh, But A Sheet of Silver Plated Copper ALL Around And The Middle Wire / Conductor Is Actually Secured With Not Only The Outter Wire And The Thick Copper Tube, But With Another Layer Of Copper Tube That Is Like A RattleSnakes Tail, It Moves When You Twist The Wire, but There Is No Loss Of Signal Or No Incoming Signals Coming Thruy That Cable, I Got That Cable Wich Was Dark Red, Asked Few Ham Guys And They Said They Dont Know What Does AA DARK RED COAX Means, Usally If The Coax Is Black Then Its Outdoor Use, If White Then Its Just An Antenna RG6 Coax And So On, But Dark Red Noone Knew And I DOnt Know, I Just Know TThat I Have Used It On All My Antennas And I Still Have Bucnh Ofd It, Not Only That, I Got Boxes With BNC And Other Connectors That Are BRAND NEW OLD STOCK, In Plastic Bags, All Brand New, Like, HUDREDS OF HUNDREDS OF Connectors, Addapters, Cables, Pcb Materials, Sheets And Everything, Tens Of Thousands Of resistors, Capacitorsd And All That, Even Vacum Tubes, Arc Lamps, OMG, Even A Kino Propjector, Tens Of LOMO KINAP Speakers That Are Worth Big Bucks, I Jsut Cant Sell Them beccause Ebay is Hard For Me Nowdays .. I Need to restart myself and sell everything i dont need, i already sold a huge chunk of copper from transformers from ussr welding machines, the copper inside is around 150kg EACH and i got 9 of them welding machines and spair transformers, the thickness of wire? i will not call that a wire, its more like a BBAR OF COPPER That wrapped around a tranformer metal Sheets :D
Thanks for your comment. That's praise indeed! Not many say they love my videos. Like them maybe. If you build a filter for 446 Mhz obviously you will need a lot less turns on the coils and smaller capacitors. Hope you have a spectrum analyzer and tracking generator to adjust it, or maybe use a nano vna? Wow you certainly got some good stuff, that's a once in a lifetime event. I used to work for the government doing electronics so had access to the best test equipment and components. My bosses didn't mind me doing my own projects as it was a sign of having an interest in learning, as long as I got my work done on time. That's where I learned most of what I know now. We don't see a lot of Russian equipment over here and it's sad the way things are now between Russia and the west. Bloody politicians to blame as usual. Thanks for offer of equipment, but I think it would be difficult to get it here at the moment and also probably expensive. Best regards Nick
These filters were discussed in the RSGB VHF/UHF 4th edition manual section 3.7 by GR Jessop G6JP. Very worthy read.
The old big OXO tins, Rover assorted biscuits tins, tobacco tins and Altoids tins are the correct housings.
Maybe so but a bit big, mine are made to measure
@@ptronix They are that. I know how much work goes into these filters
Cool stuff. So glad you decided to do a video rather than just responding to the one person. :)
Thanks for watching, good you got something out of it
Love the copper amazing work.
Thank you Dan, always liked working with metal. My woodwork skills not so good though!
I use biscuit tins as freely available. Costs nuffin. For cavity filters old gas bottles. George
Or beer barrels for low frequency cavities
Good possible use for 250mhz reception and how many turns down
Yes could be used on 250 Mhz, no idea on the number of turns. You have to experiment like me! Roughly half I'd say
@@ptronix thanks
Can I know diameters the wire and diamaters off coil, thank,s you
Wire is 1mm diameter, I used the centre of TV coax. Diameter of coils is 8mm. Length of coil is 32mm and approximately 17 turns, hope that helps
Ok, thanks,
