Reason why we tried Wildwood. Jeez! Wasn't expecting it will take us 2-3hrs paddling to get to 501 lol

Half the fun is the journey there!

As a traveller who usually ends up going solo I just can't justify the cost yet. However if I can ever get a group together I feel it would be worth checking out. Thanks for making the video.

As this is my home lake I can tell you this lake gets very murky by mid July and quite green and unswimmable by mid August. If you are a good fisherman you can catch a lot of fish on this lake. I've been fishing here for thirty plus years and know pretty much every inch. I've had 50 fish days on this lake. I've caught 12lb pike 6plus lb large mouth and 5lb smallies. After mid-july I am done with this lake, it just gets too murky. Off to the Maitland for big smallies.

Wow, sounds like a good fishing spot. Thanks for the info! Next time I’ll take a fishing rod with me!

Looks like a nice place. Intesting on the "pay as you take" wood box. Just curious did you find any appropriate trees for "bear bagging" off of any of these sites? I realize bears might not live/travel this far south, however there will still be raccoons, squirrels and chipmunks to keep food and garbage away from.

You are correct, there are no bears this far south, but raccoons are always an issue. There are plenty of trees where you could sling a rope and hoist your food. I suppose you could always store your food in the locked firewood chest overnight. However, I have camped there several times and left my food on the picnic table ( in a well sealed container) and never had any issues.

What about using an inflatable raft with oars

These site are only available to people who get there under their own power - hiking or paddling - so I think an inflatable boat powered by oars would be fine.

That is not backcountry by a LONG shot.

Ya, it is pretty fancy to be labeled as ‘backcountry’ isn’t it? More like a ‘Glamping’ trip indeed!
