The way Kelly describes skating and his love for it and how much influence it had on him at a mad young age shines through here. Lot of dudes from that era/age bracket deft can relate👍👍 true skatorian. Lol
If you eve get Mullen on this show I would love to hear his side of the call. I am blown away every time I hear the story on how Girl started. In the start of Santa Cruz and Powell Perala, to Plan B, primitive, world industry, Girl, Birdhouse, Baker, zero, the a team, almost, FA, blind, workshop, enjoi, maple, think, deca. the skateboard industry is bonkers. I would love to see a family tree of skate company’s over the years which one started and branched off the next two and so on. I don’t have the knowledge and can not remember every branch but would love to see someone map that all out.
That would be dope. I’d like to hear more inside stories about the inner workings of the industry... How contracts work (like how people can quit one company for another one), ad incentives, etc...
Kinda crazy to think Crob didn’t even start skating til he was 15 and Jeron was on Blind at 15. Just goes to show we can all have different stories and still end up in the same place.
If every pro sk8er was this reachable into there personalities as these guys are on 9 club im sure sales would go thru the roof. Its like a group of friends youve never met and know everything about them
I truly love everything you guys do for us, thank you. It’s been kinda roof the past few months, but the energy you guys put out translates so well through the screen.
Most people don’t realize how good of a skater Tim Gavin really was. Back in the early 90’s, most pros and ams were sketchy as hell and took like 30 tries to land anything. Tim, along with people like Willie Santos, Brian Lotti, Jovante and a very few others had this super smooth style and were incredibly consistent. Bolts every time which was very rare for back then.
Lol I once bought a Chris Roberts chocolate board like ten years ago and it got ran over by a bus the same day I got it, haven’t bought another one since then
lol that death row records reference. Ive never thought to compare the skate and music industries until now, but thats some freaky stuff. Skaters are starting to create their own brand more and more just like musicians. Interesting stuff, times are a changin
I just want to say that, I never fell out of love with skateboarding I love to skate but sometimes it just gets repetitive and frustrating but this interview and all videos buy you guys including the gaming channel just makes me fall in love all over. Each and every time, ESPECIAAAALLY this interview. I can’t wait to be able to tell my children hey you know your dad did this on a skateboard down those stairs. And I can’t wait to see how just the influence skating had on me, continuing to my children wether they actually skate or not they will be raised by a skater
Best episode I have ever seen...especially when Kelly got real sbout tripping on the Girl dudes...and now he’s interviewing them...Chris your the man...I’m a kitty lover my self.
This is a series, with each season spanning a decade and each episode highlighting a brand, and/or a team, or group of skaters that moved together. There is more than enough talent to recreate. Can’t wait for someone to make it ❤️
i had that issue of Big Brother on the shelf behind Jeron 'sugar coated penis pops' :) with loads of extra shit in the box, stickers, spray stencils, bones patch. I went to SF when i was 14/15. Flew from Ireland to Cali for 3 weeks, got to skate EMB & those Venice beach kerbs. I met Sean Sheffey, Scott Johnston, Justin Girard & bought it in FTC, as well as a Guy Mariano set up & some 50inch waist Planet Earth bright green jeans & an element XXL t. James Welch laughed at my ma for her irish accent. Best holiday ever. Literally couldnt have gone any better for little kid me .
Speaking of jobs after skating (or even during), I think more skaters should get into teaching. They work consistent hours during the week so it easier to schedule around work (7-3 every day). Pay may not be as good as real estate or some other jobs. However, the nights and weekends are free to skate. Teachers get off holidays and summers which frees them up to skate, film, and tour.
this is the best fucking show on the interweb criss all of you guys make my life better in every way i can thank of thank you guys on a real note for being the realist skate show anywhere on planet earth peace love and light to all
It would be cool to take your guys’ most asked guests at this point and review some of their old footage. Like 1 or 2 skaters an experience show if you guys could. That would be so good! Might be able catch that skater’s attention too to the point where they are able or want to do an episode once the Covid age is past
I was on Mike Mo's live stream and he slapped his stomach cause I donated. He said he got that from Schner. Lol, Ps I don't know if that's how his name is spelled.
@26:40 - guy, salman, the real team... Remember Rudys in Mississauga Ontario...? Footage??... My Footage?... pressure flip, body varial/s3x change, nose blunt... on the quarter hip, who has it? lol
If you can hit the ball straight you are good Chris. 200 yards in the middle of the fairway is better than 275 behind a tree. Drive for show and putt for dough
I’d like to know why he left Flip after all these years and who he’s going to ride for now... Curren is so underrated, he rips but is always under the radar.
My buddy had a Bitch board, and I've said before that it was the worst wood I've ever seen. It was like balsa wood. Walmart boards are better made. I wish I still had that board in pieces though. It was black with the blue and white handicap graphic.
The way Kelly describes skating and his love for it and how much influence it had on him at a mad young age shines through here. Lot of dudes from that era/age bracket deft can relate👍👍 true skatorian. Lol
That's straight facts man. Miss the old magazine and VHS days but the new age is something else. Cool to see
I could listen to Tim Gavin talk about anything! This episode and his other interview are probably my favorite Nine’s so far. Such an interesting guy.

I think i could. I have a rough idea
Kinda crazy to think Crob didn’t even start skating til he was 15 and Jeron was on Blind at 15. Just goes to show we can all have different stories and still end up in the same place.

Little disclaimer: Don't eat while watching this episode.... I about choked on my food laughing like 5 times
Yeah Gav!!
"I used to board" HAHAHA! One of the best Stop and Chats
If every pro sk8er was this reachable into there personalities as these guys are on 9 club im sure sales would go thru the roof. Its like a group of friends youve never met and know everything about them
Love Gav but he can’t trash on cats when he owns Yorkies lmao
Been waiting for this one... RIP Vincent Nava

I wonder if crob sells more boards now than in his heyday 🤔

this was a great episode. great laughs the whole way through, great vibes
“I used to ride. I used to board”
“I don’t wanna talk about boarding, you fffuckin’ loser” This shit had me belly laughing.

Now draw a face on a sticky note and put it on the bottom of the TV 😂
I am definitely going to rewatch this one!
So good!!!
I roge in venice and he told me he quit.... :(
Kelly lowkey makes the show.
90s-2000s skate culture was wild. it was cky / jackass on ADHD.
Yes new co host so cool i love change. I stil love you roger. 😎
Rogers sitting in the next room

Warm it up Chris.
Danny Hamaguchi is Japanese, he’s just from Hawaii. If Crob was from Hawaii does that make him Hawaiian? 😂
damn!! i wish gavin talked about when he was in that musicvideo as a kid. Audio bullys - We don`t care.
ah those were the days, great fucking video
Ha! He is the best.
@26:40 - guy, salman, the real team... Remember Rudys in Mississauga Ontario...? Footage??... My Footage?... pressure flip, body varial/s3x change, nose blunt... on the quarter hip, who has it? lol
58:34 best part lol

I’d like to know why he left Flip after all these years and who he’s going to ride for now... Curren is so underrated, he rips but is always under the radar.
I'm getting motion sickness, hold the camera still fool. 😄
