I have bad metric marks. APS score which is lower than 22. How can I apply at a university to study medicine ?
Hi Omphemetse, if you have not applied to Medicine by now, there is no way you can apply in Jan.. If your marks are low, I would recommend either taking BSC or upgrading with the purpose of ensuring your marks are higher for entry, but starting with the degree you like as a second choice and later switching if needs be can be another option. What was your second choice?
Thanks for the info. I honestly thought it was only Wits which had this option of bridging into medicine from 2nd or 3rd year. Please explain the UP Grid which calculates the points. Im completely lost
Hi Khutso, I am glad that the video helped. Let me know what you are studying and your level so I can break it down from the relevant grid?
@@lifeinitsfullness1711 I have anl Bachelor of Honours in Social Work. Now Im in my 2nd year of Masters In Clincial Social Work. So your calculations could be around someome who has a Masters.
@@khutsountold3177 Awesome, it means you will compete for the "Previous University Experience" Category which has 80 spaces. The only sub-category you will not be considered on will be No17 which is exclusive for UP students only. Given that you are busy with masters work, you will also be eligible for bonus points for both Honours and Masters depending on how you perform. I hope that clarifies it.
@@lifeinitsfullness1711 Pretty much clears it brother. Just need to pull up my socks to pass by minimum 65%... Thanks a mill my brother, will surely share your channel with other learners or prospective medicine students. Perhaps you should consider charging some fees to help us apply 🙈 some would be willing to pay for such assistance so that all applications are applied successfully
@@khutsountold3177 Thanks, that will be appreciated.
4:54 the 7th paragraph
Applications of citizens from countries other than South Africa*, with medical schools are not considered for
medicine (MBChB).
please what does it mean
Implies non- SA learners from countries that have Medical Universities will not be considered for Medicine. Where are you from?
@@lifeinitsfullness1711 I am from nigeria
@@Bernie505 ok, it appears that Nigerian has many medical institutes though. They might give you a challenge, but you have nothing to loose, yoU can apply and see what happens, at least it is still part of SADAC, not only institutes are like UP.
14:50 I couldn’t hear the school you mentioned please can you type it
I have only mentioned WITS Plus and Wits Gemp Programme, both are part of Wits University.
Hi I have a bsc in biochemistry, with a 3.51 C.G.P.A aside UP and UCT what order schools can let me skip a year or two years to enter medicine
None at the moment, UFS takes you in the first year, but their Medicine programme is 5 years.
I did not understand the UP one fully. If you have been any Degree you can apply? They will consider your application?
Yes.
