Thanks for the review. I'll bet at least half of your audience on this review is still wondering (1) what's the list price, (2) where was it made, (3) how wide is the neck at the nut, (4) when you play it standing, does the headstock dive to the floor, and (5) what's it sound like with flatwounds.
Wow! Great bass! Not 1 brittle or muddy note with the treble turned up or off; neck or bridge pickup! It was always smooth, articulate, musically "weighty", and savory as Mom's best gravy! And no one could have done a better job to demo this bass than the man with the Midas touch for bass, Dan The man. Play on playah! God-bless!
I was captivated by this bass from the first viewing of this video. I agree completely with commentator Bob, this beauty truly blows away the violin "Beatle" bass, I should know because I own one. In my opinion, the best hollow body bass money can buy.
Just got one. Excellent Bass, Sounds AWESOME (once you change the strings...), plays very smooth and the quality is outstanding for this price. Fell in love with it 😍
The world of music is crazy. A photo of a Canadian musician with an American semi-acoustic bass inspires me to search. What did I (German) find? An obviously English musician presents the German Höfner Bass and I'm in love. the world is one🙂 Perfect presentation👍🏼Very detailed explanations and great sound examples. I'm pretty much convinced. i like your accent😉✌🏼
@elpetresx5477 oh really. I thought I read that they come from Bavaria.🤔 Then I already have one from the Czech Republic. I thought that would be a reason to buy a Furch. Then Adamivic from the Netherlands will take precedence as soon as I have enough money together🤷🏼♂️
After changing the strings - not anymore. The Hofner strings the bass comes with are not that good... I changed to Fender Nickel plated roundwound 7250 - wow.
This sounds good, but it's unfortunate that they make two versions with the same Verythin name: This long-scale one, with a distinct humbucker sound, and the short scale one with the traditional Höfner 'toaster' pickups, which has the very different, expected Höfner sound. You'd know which sound you want, very different pickups. The latter has the red & yellow stripes on the fret board - looks like a plaid kilt!
And balance on a strap? Looks very neck heavy. Why describe the neck angle but not the balance? A bass with neck dive is practically useless. I suspect this is just another faux review pretending not to be a sales pitch.
Purchased this bass just off of this review. Didn’t care about the price or where it was made. This thing sounds absolutely killer!!! Best decision!!!

Most of these reviews seem to point out the obvious. It has a burst. Flame maple
That just sounds SOOOOO Goood!! Thank you Hofner.... For creating such a lovely sounding bass!

What weight of this bass?

it's not so much German as it is Sudeten, from Czech....

Just a beautiful sounding and looking bass
I just found one for sale and it's going to be mine! :-)
I had a red Hofner Verythin 6 string with Bigsby in 1964.
This is THE bass.
Thanks for this Details demo.
Looks & sounds awesome!
That thing blows away the Hofner Beatle basses, sounds like a real bass.
Sounds so nice ❤
Very good, thorough demo, thanks- how's it hang with a strap?
the strap attaches at the back of the neck where it meets the body. there's a knob thing there
@@graysonhydesoto 🤣
Nice demo beautiful guitar
A beautiful bass!
Sweet, always loved a Hofner tone :)
excellent demo! Informative without all the usually fret wanking!
Maybe with the right amp etc, but for me a p bass has more depth and clarity,

how would this sound through a drive pedal?
shit, like everything would
Gotta stop sitting on the fence, mate, just come right out and say it :-D
Does this have a floating bridge, like the short scale version, or a fixed bridge?

Should've called this one a "Verylong" :D
:^) But then us immature people would pounce on it with porn jokes. ;^>
Just out of curiosity, are you using flatwounds or round wound strings for that demo?
Vince Diem i can hear a lot of string noise so I'm guessing rounds
Great bass playing........tried learning to play your riffs by ear.....didnt go well
Weight?
No zero fret?
Amazing sound!!
It’s a sales pitch. This is not a ‘review’
love the sound of my hofner ignition bass , but this one though it looks nice , sounds under - whelming...kind of like a wet fart .
Your wet farts must sound very different from mines...

Not as neck heavy as my ibanez solid body, but one still needs to be careful...
Another fucking 30 inches short scale ?
He said at least twice its 34"
