A while back, maybe ten years or so, my local Starbucks (Capitol Square Mall, San Jose, California) doubled its size by expanding into an adjacent, vacant store space at the mall. It's now just an oversize kiosk. Problems caused by the homeless compelled the store to remove all seating, outdoors at first but later indoors as well. It's now to-go orders only. They've lost a lot of the regulars, like me, who did business there mostly to chat with other regulars and to meet new people.
Similar thing happening near the Church's Chicken down from 32nd St Naval Base. My wife goes to 32nd a few times a year and usually gets chicken on her way home. Last visit she was horrified at the homeless tents all over the shopping center area. She will not shop for food there again.
Time for companies to commit resources for security huh? That is their profit margin you so casually throw away. Owners can go elsewhere and keep their profit, leaving you there watching district degrade
Instead of allowing them to transfer, why not supply them with security? like the guy said....Oh, i guess it's more cost effective to lose a tenant....lol
security aint gonna do much, when they try to help they get sued, injured, or locked up. this is what happens when you allow fent and chemical cocktails tsunami in. i am glad i am sober.
These business owners experiencing issues due to the homeless population need to sue the city since city government refuses to do anything to stop this infestation. The homeless population needs to shape up or ship out (deport them all to Mexico).
Very poor journalism by ABC. This vid is going out natinwide and farther, yet you don't bother to tell us what state or city this is in. As I said, poor journalism, but I'm not surprised in light of today's standards. Okay, the female mouthpiece finally said "San Diego" but this should have been mentioned in the first sentence. Once upon a time the first rule of journalism was 'Who, what, where, when, why'. Journalism was much better before colleges invented journalism courses.
It’s likely because the story was done by a local San Diego ABC station affiliate. ABC Channel 10 is specific to San Diego. It’s not a national news station
@@greggonzalez5825 I get that - but if the story is going out internationally and appearing on RUclips, their audience is well beyond the San Diego area - so my accusation still stands - poor journalism in not stating the location of the story, violating what used to be the basic rules of journalism: who, what, where, when, and why.
Do the people in this neighborhood look like they would ever vote for anything else?? NO. They won't ever do that.. becuase that is not where they are in their evolution.
The same happened in the South Bay, they close Starbucks on Broadways months ago, because the homeless were attacking the workers there, one day it happened 5 times so that was the end of it.

Racists
Had enough? Vote Republican.
The fools who don’t believe in ANY social programs? Then we’d all be homeless. Look at how red states are run, they are even worse than blue cities.
Deleted my Starbucks app best thing I ever did. And I use to go 1-2x every day

In Shrek 2 when the Starbucks☕ gets destroyed the customers run across the street to the other Starbucks location LOL 🤣

Good. How about supporting local San Diegan business instead!
Talking like it's a life long mom and pop shop

Starbucks. A woke company fleeing all the woke places. Realizing wrong direction for any company to go.
They are too stupid and arrogant to admit that.
R.I.P. CALIFORNIA
That's their way of canceling gentrification.😅
Remember when Starbucks welcomed everyone to loiter and use their restrooms, basically giving the finger to paying customers?
They wanted paying customers to loiter if they choosed, not bums bothering people and destroying the rest rooms .
@@770WT No such distinction was made when they rolled out that policy. Starbucks was virtue signaling and it has cost them.
Oh no starbucks is closing, walks across the street to the 5 other starbucks
lol that's the only one in Hillcrest. The next one is 15 blocks away

Sounds like I need to move to Little Italy because they don't put up with bums over there.

Not one mention of the parking & construction of MULTIPLE apartments being built around there 🙄

Elections in CA are so fraudulent, everyone in the state could vote GOP and the Dems would still claim victory.
