I also think that using a pencil as a die is a very clever solution for when you're on the go, and the markers are not too shabby either.

Snakes and ladders was a great game as a kid. For some reason they call it "Chutes" and ladders in the US and they have pictures of slides instead of snakes. we always called it Snakes in Canada.

I thought chutes and ladders was a specific brand's version of snakes and ladders. I live in the US and I've heard and seen both.
Maybe it is a specific company that calls it that. I don't know, Ive just ever heard anyone from the US call it snakes and ladders, it's always been chutes and ladders and they seem puzzled when you call it snakes. I'm from Canada, and like the UK we know it as snakes.
