"Well, we want you to dress up in a Ronald McDonald costume and pole vault / throw a discus / shot put / twirl on the horizontal bar and the rings..." ATHLETES: "Uh, you want me to do WHAT?" Given that the 1984 Olympics resulted in McDonald's giving away millions of dollars in free food, I have to wonder if they included the cost of this commercial on their balance sheet under "Business Losses."

I love that they got Frank Welker to voice Sam.
He also voices CosMc, a robot from outer space a few years later.
