Absolutely superb!! Delighted that the mine is still producing. It's been quite a few years since I was in Alston, must go back again soon. I have been binge watching your videos since I found them, very well filmed and the atmosphere is captured so well. Many thanks for producing these videos and for sharing.

I really like the raw footage. It reminds me of firing up the surface plant at the little gold mine we're running, some things just look the same despite being thousands of miles apart! We're currently the only small underground mine operating in our area, but we prefer to think of ourselves as the first of the new generation, not the last.

Sadly I think we will be the last. No place for coal in the modern world, but we will go out with our heads held high.

My respect to the lads making a living from conventional mining. A bit hard graft never hurt anyone. Two of my departed marras made a world record ,filling and putting. Jimmy Marly filler and John Ford putting Both gentlemen .

Haven’t seen any stone dust? What is the reason for not stone dusting the roadways? Is it due to the coal quality needed for the end user?

Very little coal dust in roadways, it's anthracite which is not volatile, so negligible risk of coal dust explosions.
