I feel that the main character represents a modern time Jason (the ancient Greek mythological hero and leader of the Argonauts). He keeps carrying the "weight of gold" as he claimed that "prize" a long time ago. He walks throug various landscapes in search of love and gratitude. Wich also represents the entire burden of humanity. We all grasp to our "prize" untill death! The hero keeps falling because the prise is heavy (in all meanings) and in many times not worth it at all. At one point he removes the golden fleece and starts dancing, because he feels free .. his soul starts to dance ... losing all that weight/burden! But at the end he gets the shivers, because gold is just like drugs ... you need it to survive unfortunately! He puts on the fleece again and goes back to the sea (the cradle of life) and the cycle continues! Just like in our modern society! .... Brilliant video, my friend! Much
Billy Barry is amazing. He's so talented and physical. The music is really impressive in the way it adds gravity to everything he does along with itself being a beautiful piece just in general. An excellent production.
If I was a professor in art or writing, I would have the students analyze this video just so I can read how each person see this. It's just a deep visual poetic story.

is that covering he's wearing maybe supposed to be the golden fleece? it'd make sense to me with the song being named "Weight of gold" and the freedom the guy seems to feel when he removes it followed by convulsions, perhaps the fleece representing wealth/money and power as it was Jason's path to kingship?...idk
My two cents on this video: the guy (young, lean) came from the sea, wearing fur/pel/animal skin, so I thought that could be related to the selkie lore, once he wears that skin the whole time, also, as in the legends he undresses so he dances, what also could be taken as an expression of lust (as show in the last convulsions), as well he walks near the humans, but don't actually belongs to that place, and in the end, he returns to sea.
