    Hello guys! In today's video, I bring you a tutorial on how to create more complex shapes without using plugins or boolean operations in 3ds Max.
    The main focus is on optimizing the mesh, making it simpler and lighter.
    3ds Max is a very powerful tool, although many choose to use other software these days. It is worth remembering that all the content here is for those who are taking their first steps in the 3d world.

    It is a useful video as it details how to create complex 3D objects using mesh smooths. I could refer to this video when modeling hard surfaces of various shapes.

    Personally I think this can be done more nicely in cad 3d and then move into blender for rendering

      The model is simple and can be made in a number of software programs. Some prefer Blender, others Plasticity or 3ds Max, among many others. I won't go into these issues. If the end result is good, the tool is just a means.

    thank you, i made the whole model almost step by step.
    Now I will do something else :)great to learn from your tutorials. i'll be happy to show you :) . ps. it is a pity that i have an older version of max. and i don't have some of the possibilities in chamfer (14m 30 sec)

      excellent! I'm glad to hear you're making progress with the videos. You can show me via instagram @igormta.
      About 3ds max continue with your same version. These details you can resolve in other ways. with cut you can create the lines around the place where you will apply the chamfer and then use the edge loop with the edge constrain turned on. This way you get the same effect as the chamfer. Thanks a lot for the feedback. Success on your journey!

    What if I only make one half, then mirror the other half and rotate it 90 degrees, and finally weld it into a whole, will it work?😄

    • @igormota3d
      @igormota3d  10 месяцев назад

      In theory it would be perfect. In practice, I believe there will be errors, points where the mesh will not fit 100%, when we see the model in our mind we create a perfect plan to model. In practice we realize that it is not as fast as it seemed.

    I did every step, but at 3.50min. after puting meshsmooth, its not as clean. there's a weird mesh in the middle

    • @igormota3d
      @igormota3d  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi @jeon6885, you need add the crease in the edges arround the model. After, you apply the meshsmooth. The crease is in the edit edge session, i use 1,0 in crease value. Check this

    • @jeon6885
      @jeon6885 8 месяцев назад

      @@igormota3d thank you for your replay, I did increase the crease to 1,0 and had still the same pb. But that's fine because you deleted the meshsmooth afterward so that worked better for me 😅. Thank you so much for the video
