0:56 Javier is the best thing that ever happened to Tosin. Gartska is a glitch in the Matrix and should have never ended up in a band with such talented peers and it just doesn't even make sense that such a perfect trio ever occured.
Garstka is a animal!
They have been together jammin since the foundations of the UNIVERSE were formed...... This was no accident
@@anthonyjones3835 I have one Gartska sticks from a concert I went to and I can't even touch it cause last time I did it burned my hand.
What do you mean gartska shouldn't have ended up with talented peers? He's just as talented if not more than Javier...
@@KiLLJOY1056 I meant it like it's too good to be true.
A girl that I've met two days ago recommended this video to me.
I think I struck gold.
good luck man
dump her, she's served her purpose now.
@@davidwales9657 lmao
wifey material... lol
Coward. You will fade into the obscurity of her mind because of your insecurities.
I find more of a message in instrumental music nowadays than music with lyrics
Lyrics are too specific and one dimensional, most of the time. I agree, instrumental music like this tell far better stories.
Someone once said the melody of the lyrics is the most important part of lyrics musically
Jace Noto that’s what a friend of mine said. It pissed me off lmao
@@diabeto62 I've said before that I prefer instrumental music because I'd rather not be influenced by other people's messages anymore
@@diabeto62 occasionally I've written songs or chord progressions that had lyrics then reverse engineered the lyrics into their melodies and considered adding that in as a verse / chorus etc. or to an extent become the song itself without the lyrics
Even my engineering degree wasn't this technical.
good one
The comment is almost as beautiful as the song
haha :D
🤣
I get to see them in March
This song to me is like "an explanation of beauty" - you don't have to fuss over words, as there are none. The concept dawns on you within the music itself.
Seriously this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and I've shown it to a few friends and they're like "theres no words though" so I gave up on showing friends music like this haha.
Even though I doubt that anyone I’m Animals As Leaders will see this comment, I just want to say that you guys helped me through a panic I had involving my PTSD, so thank you. In a way Tosin’s solo felt like me calming down and finally realizing that my struggles don’t define me. It’s almost poetic because I guess we could say that it’s like a white light at the end of the tunnel like his guitar. 😅
i hope they will
Spot on mate! Music saves lives!
@TheCheesePlease yeah it is cringe but I still mean it
😢😢😢❤
2:21 "whoa where did Javier go?? Did he transcend to the next dimension?"
2:37 "hey guys I'm back that was fuckin awesome"
this sounds like how it was meant to be heard. beautiful.
Daniel Doss Hearing it live sure does! I was able to realise just how much goes into the songs that they make they really are amazing to hear live. You gotta go to one of their shows if you haven't evan as a musician it was a game changer when i felt really down about a lot of stuff it was such a reguvinating experience and only solidified my love for guitar and the kind of musicianship that goes into such an amazing live performance. Every musician should be aiming to play from the soul and be so intuitive and one with their band as if your band is just one entity and not all a seperate enigma. Truly a super group in the music world of prog. metal!
Carlos Zambrano Jr Seen them like 4 times! Always incredible. Live experience is superior with this group.
its supposed to be the same perspective as watching them on stage
@@MaddesG1 I agree I turned a blind cheek to then other than to pay lip service to their obvious talent before seeing them at Hvy Mtl. It was awe inspiring. It even started raining half way through the set for a "while" lol total trip.
whats that guitar called that tosin played?
The best guitar tone in the entire live album is that nylon string.
Albert Phan naw
Albert Phan good ol axeFX and 10 layers of reverb!
I love nylon strings!
Yeah pretty cool i think it's a kiesel classical custom, it should be avaliable to order a custom one.
@@joshpetit44 is that what he used or was it his pedals through his Morgan?
4:14 "ahhh such dreamy and peaceful chords... Oh shit get the ceiling camera guy!"
Aaro Koivisto HAHAHAHAHAHA
wow so true XD
7stringcoopdawg easy there big guy
Its Sumerian Records too...😂
It has to be be a professional...
But it really seems like a mega fan filming the whole song on their phone😂
At 3:57 the camera man dies of sheer awesomeness
Javier's tone is so nasty and growly in this song. Absolutely amazing.
This live recording is mixed to perfection.
When I hear this, I'm like 'Thank God someone's still making art for art's sake.'
I love Matt Garstka hes a beast
Need more aal content!!! A musical force like this only appears once every few lifetimes
Kinnzie Martin IKR!!
I just found Plini about 2 weeks ago, they're awesome!
Victor Erickson Plini is actually the man's name haha, he always gets amazing musicians to help him pull off his stuff live though. It's a little too chilled for me to really get into but I respect his musicianship and work ethic to the upmost
Saw Animals live last November. Crowd was pretty rowdy. They end a song and the lights go dark. Warm melody starts playing, everyone goes quiet. Then Tosin stands there, covered in white light and Brain Dance comes on. This moment nurishes my soul every since. Thanks Animals.
These three guys are super on point, able to stay in the pocket and then just soar into the stratosphere. All three of these wonderful first class musicians are absolutely on another level. I've always found these guys to just be absolutely........Out There.....and I mean this in the coolest way possible. Total Love guys, thank you for just being really different in a really cool way.
Tosin is IMHO the first truly 21st century guitarist. And what an honour guard he has brought along with him ...
Upon an immediate replay, this song just legit made me start crying out of nowhere. It’s been a looong time since music has genuinely MOVED me.
This song has a Nepali vibe about it every time I listen to it takes me to the hills that I belong to The Himalays
Arbu Pradhan very true
Haha right
soooooo true
My exact thoughts
Nepalihoni
The camera man is brain dancing as well :)
7stringcoopdawg Calm down millennial 😂
I love every second of this song. so beautiful while still being able to convey a feeling of almost uneasiness. can't stop listening to it
Drummer is a human metronome
that guy can play in my group anytime
Berkly certified human metronome
*mattronome
He's just was born with 3 brains and play in 2 times signatures on each.
No, he's a Matt Garstka, and metronomes are just machine Matt Garstkas
Tosin is such an innovator on guitar. His solo style is somewhat reminiscent of Alan Holdsworth. I someone who's been around a while, I can hear the jazz fusion influence on AAS.
Yes, you can see how he is kind of hesitant with the harmony in that fusion-y solo but it is not made entirely of just a bunch of licks put together but rather sounds like he is still practicing his improvisation skills. I love me some good improvised solos
I think he might be the most important guitarist post Holdsworth -- like A.H., his style is utterly original, his harmonic approach completely refreshing, his technique leaves others in his wake.
@@jamiepastman5594Chris Poland in between
This song makes me incredibly happy and relaxed
De las canciones más innovadoras y enérgicas que he podido oír, gracias por hacer de la música algo diferente.
Beautiful. Haven't heard the live version of this song til just now and I love it.
Matt deserves his own camera angle
IMO this is the only Animals song that sounds better live than it does in the studio recording.
Camera man recording: The Focus Dance
Saw these guys last night at the Leader Pavilion. They were the opening act before Devon Townsend and Dream Theatre. For me, this song was the singular highlight of the night. Spectacular in conception and execution. Spellbinding. Can I have another adjective?? Just listen.
I lost all color vision, now I only see 4/4 gray scale! Saw them live in Gävle, in june 2019 together with Tesseract and Dream Theater. Excellent show!
4:16 Cameraman: "Oh god, a wasp!...Nope, just the lights"
Javier playing is freaking beautiful
I don’t think there’s a word to describe how much I deeply love this. It gives me the chills!
When i first heard it i thought the low notes were played on bass, this video has proven me quite wrong.
My fav drummer!
Animals as Leaders is one of my all time the most favourite band..greetings from KK Sabah🇲🇾🤘🏼🇲🇾
Genuine artists.
Just beautiful. Cameraman's work is insane, those colours, musicians on the top
tfw the ghost notes come back to life
#zombienotes
So glad to have been at this show. At the end of this song, Tosin said something about coming from a state that has legalized marijuana :D
God is black and plays an acoustic and also an 8 string guitar.
Billy20200 I'M NOT RELIGIOUS, AND I BELIEVE THAT.
Clearly it's not Tosin then because that's not an acoustic.
It's a hollowbody with nylon strings and a piezo pickup. It's pretty acoustic.
Rufus Stanier It has no sound box and no steel strings. Literally the two defining characteristics of an acoustic guitar.
Sorry I thought you meant acoustic/classical. It is technically an acoustic instrument. Thanks for educating me :)
One of their best, and I hope they focus more on the gentler side of their music in the future. Stunningly beautiful. The only redeeming feature of the more djenty sections is the contrast they create to the rest of the song.
I would prefer it without the djenty bits tbh.
Ok this proves it their is truly no band out here that can jam as well as these guys. Studio heros are everywhere and easy to make. But live perfection is rare.
that chord at 4:16 oh yeah
for the first time drums r given importance to the mix equally i can hear the drums what a pleasant combination to everything
I love how Tosin just drops the damn pick @ 5:55 lol
What a talented group of people
how wonderful would be an AAL/Tosin & Yamandu Costa crossover
Please....do a Tool cover. PLEASE
Lol
Finally a live video with live music!
5:55 really tripped me out, incredible performance
Dammit! All I want to do is head bang to this absolute jam but I can't!
1:44 is one of the most powerful chords in music history ❤
WHAT A CUTE MUSIC, I HAVE LISTENED SEVERAL TIMES MORE TODAY, SHE MADE ME CRY...
A true work of art
I've listened to this song every day for over a year on this damn youtube account and have never seen this version till now
I guess I'm kinda glad this doesn't have billions of views but also confused as to why it doesn't have billions of views...
Impresiónate muy bueno, nice
Nice combination!
Eles são o Yamandú Costa com pedais de distorção. Incrível!
what a great piece of music. Ive had this album on loop on my apple music for a week strait now! I think this latest generation of "math" metal makes you smarter ha.
javier doesnt get enough attention/recognition in this song. absolutely maniacal
what is going on with the camera work? WTF
Tourettes
Question What You Fear lmfao
I find it kinda cool actually :D
Øli Macabre I would not say that, several times she points for nowhere for some seconds. If it was intentional, it was a bad choice, you can not differentiate these moments from a bad job.
Escorpions
mind blown.
Did Randy film this? He always does a stellar job! Also, this sounds better than the album version, keeping in mind that the album version is already pretty good.
Akshit Jha he said it himself on his Insta
Ronald Mick Yeah I saw it a few hours ago.
The quality...amazing
They always come up with something new. I feel like other alternative rock kind of formations are 5 years behind them.
My close friends and my favorite band. Love these dudes.
I like how the acoustic guitar is sometimes playing advanced riffs that still keep the rhythm, reminds me of Tommy the Cat.
This makes me wanna quit guitar
nah it should inspire you
Brasil porra
whys that
Nah man, keep playing... You'll only get better if you keep playing... You got this man
THE SLOW DEATH HOOKS true, this is inspiring because tosin is playing a 6 string
This might be the best song ever written.
Reminds me of "Yes" a little bit, here and there.
Oooh! Gotta look them up next!
Matt is crazy good
Toilet store filming
pure genius
I don't believe in fate, but honestly to me it's as if these guys were meant to work with Randy Edwards (their photographer and videographer). I've never seen a band's energy and aesthetic captured so well in the visuals of their tours. The movement, the colours, the composition, it's just flawless - I recommend to everyone (photographers or otherwise) searching for Edwards' blog and Instagram pages, truly stellar images both with AAL and on his own adventures (he's recently toured with Javier's 'Mestis' with Rob Wolk and Intronaut's Joe Lester).
I know we're here to enjoy the band's musicianship - I greatly admire the band, and I was lucky enough to hear this song (my favourite AAL track) live in London - but I wanted to also outline the genius of the visuals too
Aal is like my go to it's so chill love these guys
Amazing 🤟
Javier kicks ass🎉
Genuine next gen music
This is now my all time favorite song from them 🤘 the perfect balance of all of their elements I think
i literally cried
so beautifull
I think this is EVEN BETTER than the freakin' STUDIO recorded one... unbelievable stuff... 12949392029st time i watched it
What did they do to the snare sound? so overproduced.. also the ride sound is totally lost in the mix. the rest is nice though.
çeçíle still sounds way better than the album version imo
Snare sounds fantastic, ride is also one of the loudest things in the mix lol
çeçíle In headphones it sounds killer.
What device were you listening on @Cecile?
I was listening on my logitec 2.1 system, that is nearly always fitting for listening to music (though the low mids are sometimes to over amplified) but after you guys recommended me headphones, I used my audio-technicas: the ride was now perfectly balanced for my taste, however I still find the snare to be over processed. I like a natural sounding snare best, like you would find in most of the music that includes Mr. Harrison. But that again is personal taste. :)
Matt's drums sound so good.
Amazed
Those lyrics really speak to me
Love this song.
Just mind-blowing music from the future 👊👍🙏
0:16 awesome borneo influence there \m/
Hey, I thought the same!
Just can't wait for a new album from these guys
tour TOUUURRRRR PLEEEASEEEE
I know right!
I had a lesson with javier before. Dudes super chill. I had really bad nervous shakes when he asked me to just play something i wrote.
4.13- 5.31 BEST EVRRRRR
Someone should somehow make a musical mashup of this video and Jon Gomm's "Passionflower."
God! That intro!
that drummmer
