Hi again 😊 The song talks about envy, about how envious people talk about others and whisper things that are not true to hurt them, until they become a bonfire of criticism. The protagonists are sent to the fire, but they are not alone. They have a community that protects them and puts out the fire. FIGA is the Galician amulet against envy, that's why the song is called like that. The rhythm of the song is a traditional rumba, even a Cuban son clave (you know, toc-toc-toc-----toc-toc). Two very significant phrases in the lyrics are. "Anque de mim digan, eu non digo de ninguén" (although they talk about me, I don't talk about anyone) and "se na miña casa hai fume, na túa queima que abrasa" (if in my house there is smoke, in your house it burns and burns). It is a story of sorority, although it may not seem like it, it is the women who save them and dance. Greetings
They are powerful girls. Witches ("Figa" is an amuleto,.that hand with a thumb which you can see in video) in a old galician matriarchy, were culture, medicine, our celtic druids... Community (men) want to condemn them to die in bonfire (see "inquisition" in Spain). Others women are rescue squad. Tanxugueiras are three young tambourines players Women who want to guard their galician idiom and tradition mixing it with new sounds for sell It out
rumba nothing is not Catalan or Cuban music, it is traditional Galician music mixed with electronic music with deep Galician roots, both rhythmic and melodic, dances and themes of its lyrics that may have more influences but if you know our culture it is very clear what they want to represent music derived from our ancestors Celts with their modern personality based on sounds of Galician percussion instruments of all kinds MUIÑEIRAS ALALAS
Translation: Never spit up That everything tends to fall apart. To speak faults of others There must be none in you. You always whisper about me. Whispers of me and others. In hell you have a bed To lie down a bit. Take care of your first, That no one is ever lost. It gets lost in whispering Of everyone's life. It gets lost in whispering Of everyone's life. Take care of your first. The others are not (the others are not yours) Ai, lerelé-lerelé Ai, lerelé-lerelé Ai, lerelé-lerelé Ai, lerelé-lerelé (the others are not yours) Ai, lerelé-lerelé Ai, lerelé-lerelé Ai, lerelé-lerelé Ai, lerelé-lerelé Even if they talk about me, they talk about me. Although they speak well of me. Even if they talk about me, they talk about me. I'm not talking about anyone. Even if they talk about me, they talk (whisper about me and others). Although they speak well of me. Even if they talk about me, they talk (whisper about me and others). I'm not talking about anyone. Don’t be so bitter In such a small bodice. Go, go rot Until ending like a rotten soul. Get out of there, rejoice. Rejoice in your home. If there is smoke in my house, In your burning that burns. Take care of your first That no one is ever lost. Get lost in murmurs, Of everyone's life. Get lost in murmurs, Of everyone's life. Long time ago some women in Galician (and around the world) was punished cause 'guilty" of witchery. Most of them accused by church and envy neighbors for take her properties and money. Thanks for reaction.❤️❤️
Figa, which talks about staying out of other people's lives and the story of burning witches from the past. If you want to see more of their work, I recommend: Midas, who recounts the legend of King Midas that everything he touched turned to gold with the greed and selfishness of the rich ruclips.net/video/qjCeKRoGS8s/видео.html Averno, which means hell and talks about how hatred and the desire to harm others harm yourself the most. ruclips.net/video/8xx7Tv_lga0/видео.html and "Cambia todo", with "Muerdo" with a very different style, but equally harmonic. ruclips.net/video/v6cgWTYq-5A/видео.html
This comes from ancient times when women where judged as witches for their wisdom. Wise women where burnt for that judgements. Figa is an amulet that protects us from others envy and judgements.
Hola!
They uses the “meigas” (wiches) to say “don’t talk about nobody”. The “ meigas” are so important in our folklore, not all are bad, for that, please don’t talk bad about your neighbour, maybe your words made pain to her being inocent.
