I really like how the lyrics are being written in ink (like with a quill), instead of just popping up in cliche font in random places on the screen. Just creates a dark and brutal (sorta Morbid Angel type) vibe. Not to mention the song crushes fucking skulls. Great shit as always, Revocation. And during the guitar solos it shows a violin, classy.
Justyn Fogarty Actually, the violin (and the song, for that matter) is a nod to the H.P. Lovecraft story "The Music of Erich Zann," which, as detailed in the lyrics, is about a man who must play damned melodies to keep extra-dimensional beings from awakening in our world.
Holy Lovecraft, Batman!! Revocation is the bees knees. Conjuring the Cataclysm and Madness Opus have found a permanent home on my work commute/road trip playlist. Thanks Metal Blade and Revocation. Keep cranking out the quality tunes and I will keep destroying my car speakers and drawing puzzled glances from passers by while I scream along at 60mph.
Am so thankful that tech death bands exist for needy people like us, don't get me wrong anybody who reads this, I didn't mean the exact needy needy here, it means we're needy for tech death music
Except somehow faster and cleaner. Like DF would have slowed it down and punched it out, instead of it being so tight. But you're not wrong. Strong "War of Attrition" vibes.
Hey M♡herfucker, give respect for Dying Godz Fetus. Both, Revo and Dying plays lovely mélodies. Both are amazing bands and we are proud to listen to them. \♡/
I reas a reddit ama with them, someone asked if anyone could cover any of your songs which one would it be and who, and they said, this song, dying fetus lol
I realize these dudes have their own thing, of course, and I'm seeing many comments about how they remind people of other bands, anyway, I gotta say, I'm catching Byzantine vibes from this one. Love it. Especially the clean parts.
I'm on my friends phone but my name is JOHNNY METAL and REVOCATION is one of my personal favorite metal albums of all time. I've seen them live twice and have a signed cd of DEATHLESS in my collection by everyone accept David Davidson
FFS! It took me almost 8 years to actually found out this song is based on "The Music of Erich Zann" short story! This guys are not afraid of staring right at the abyss!
itsybitsyzombie Revocation do whatever the fuck they want and it's always awesome. If you haven't listened to Deathless I recommend it more than any other modern album.
Justyn Fogarty Agreed. It's one of the main things that attracted me to them. They play everything from Progressive, Death, Thrash. etc. and combine them all seamlessly.
itsybitsyzombie Sorry for the late comment, but if you still haven't listened to the album you'll be either happy or disappointed to hear that they've still got pretty clear thrash influence. Personally, I'm glad they're still kind of thrashy - it differentiates them a little bit from the rest of their tech metal peers.
This song is just a masterpiece. Went to see them live when they were warming up for Cannibal Corpse shortly after this album released and when they started with this song I think I was the only one in the audience!
This is too much for me i feel the need to break and punch shit every time i listen to this song... the lyrics, the vocals, the rythm fucking hell what a brutal masterpiece!
Loved it. I couldnt write that fast tho, be hard to concentrate with all the yelling and legendary music. . Dave and dan jammin on violins too i see. . "The jackolin wr1"
If anyone has seen the T.V series STRANGER THINGS, its like this song was written about the series, reminds me of it everytime i listen to this song! Reccomend!
The way Revocation plays, with the mixing of death, thrash, and progressive/techincal just reminds me of Death so much. Loving this name too much
Oh yeah that album Leprosy is awesome
ever do much killing? it shouldn't be remembered so highly

HP love craft never seemed so metal. Keep up the good work guys
This is my favorite song by them.
Listen to their other songs also and see they're awesome
That main riff sounds like something dying fetus would write haha
Except somehow faster and cleaner. Like DF would have slowed it down and punched it out, instead of it being so tight. But you're not wrong. Strong "War of Attrition" vibes.
Hey M♡herfucker, give respect for Dying Godz Fetus. Both, Revo and Dying plays lovely mélodies. Both are amazing bands and we are proud to listen to them. \♡/
Other riff sounds like Morbid Angel great bands
I reas a reddit ama with them, someone asked if anyone could cover any of your songs which one would it be and who, and they said, this song, dying fetus lol
Wish this track would get more attention. It's great.
I realize these dudes have their own thing, of course, and I'm seeing many comments about how they remind people of other bands, anyway, I gotta say, I'm catching Byzantine vibes from this one. Love it. Especially the clean parts.
David Davidson and Rob Arnold should write a solo together. That'd be sic.
I wish I could see Decapitated or Revocation playing live in Sri Lanka someday 😢 may be it's just a dream for us
I swear these guys get better with every album.

Holy shot this is fucking serous good death metal
This is the madness in which i dwell
Sinister and perfect!!! \m/
Directed by Nick Hipa. As in, Nick Hipa from As I Lay Dying/Wovenwar?
This band does not have a bad song, prove me wrong!!!
So dark ! I love it !
So Revocation are going full death metal now? A little late to the party and have yet to listen to Deathless.
itsybitsyzombie Revocation do whatever the fuck they want and it's always awesome. If you haven't listened to Deathless I recommend it more than any other modern album.

This is too much for me i feel the need to break and punch shit every time i listen to this song... the lyrics, the vocals, the rythm fucking hell what a brutal masterpiece!
this makes me wanna play warhammer 40k. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!. the part about the maw of the void brought it to mind.
That solo is nasty
So much Morbid Angel worship, approved.
Nice!!
nice music I love that
Guest vocals by the vocalist of job for a cowboy?
Goorbatschov At first I thought it was Jonny Davy as well.
Johnny davy sounds NOTHING like David Davidson lol what?
Their lows sound very similar.
Has that TBDM vibe.
My 2nd favourite band after Decapitated
This song kicks ass!
ERICH ZANN!!
Loved it. I couldnt write that fast tho, be hard to concentrate with all the yelling and legendary music. . Dave and dan jammin on violins too i see. . "The jackolin wr1"
Can I say that the violin footage is from the Yehudi Menuhin Violin Tutorials? It looks oddly familiar! XD
Great Music!
Guardian of the Threshold. Gotta confront your shadow, before you see the light.
Truly interesting vid

I love this song. reminds me of H.P. Lovecraft.
Mark Rodriguez the song is supposed to be from Erich Zann's point of view.
actually i take that back i remember seeing that scion av vid and not really liking the thrash vibes, this however is badass
Their best track- their magnum opus
Cool shit
Fuck... 🤘
His voice well reminds me of Job For A Cowboy
THE MUSIC OF ERICH ZANN BROUGHT ME HERE #fhtagn
Goatfacezzzzzz This song was actually intended as an homage to that story.
It is a homage.
Dave sounds alot like Jonny from Cowboy at the beginning of this track lol
they sound heavier
Speed the lyrics up
I like yeah
anyone else who reminds this of lovecraft?
The song is about Erich Zann, so yeah, there is a very heavy lovecraftian vibe !
Yarp
Yep.. truth.. pretty fucked
Good video, boring song.
***** No, i enjoy it very much.
***** Just like this song.
WTF is this? Deathcore? what's up with you guys?
Deathcore sounds a lot different dude, though I see where you're coming from with them playing that riff
