    As a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University and HBCU lover..... I'm elated that this young man chose to attend a HBCU!!!! Hopefully he has started a trend for other top recruits and high school player's.

    Deion Sanders said it already. You can get the QB's at the Big Schools but he can't win by himself. You've got to go to the neighborhoods where the rest of your team resides. That's why your recruiters are important. Congrats to this Young Man who is going to be surrounded by Great Men challenging and mentoring him.

      I get his point but football is not even like that. so spread out demographic wise even socioeconomically. Every team has its rich kids, its not so fortunate and those in between of all races. Definitely have to be able to recruit all backgrounds, But to suggest your skill position guys are all from the same kind of neighborhoods is a tad misleading, I get it though Deion

      Travis will be at Jackson for one year max. As soon as deion leaves he will leave as well. Basically sending Jackson back to the basement, which is sad. The ONLY REASON Travis went there was because barstool wrote him a HUGE check. Without the millions he's playing for a real school. This kid is going to be playing against kids that couldn't cut it in the big league.
      And throwing the hats of the other schools was very disrespectful. No class

      @@tyler2850 There is no money here to recruit athletes. I live in Jackson and it's majority Black. Median HOUSEHOLD salary here is 38k a year. He came on his own free will. I don't care if he transfers as long as he goes to an HBCU....and graduates.

    As a proud alumni of THEE Jackson State University, i cant' tell you how proud I am of this young man, Coach Prime, and the entire athletic program. When coach was hired they asked if he was worried about the recruiting wars with Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and other big programs. He said "Nope...They need to be worried about me!" This is only the beginning!

    I have kept up with Travis Hunter quite a bit here lately and I gotta say this is history in the making what he just did. he could have went to 3 big name colleges. Auburn Georgia and Florida State are all big names but he chose to do something different and shock the world by picking a HBCU to further his football career and get his education. I absolutely love his decision and respect it so much and he gets to play for a legend on Deion Sanders!!!!!!! it doesn't get any better than that. I love it when someone dares to be different or does something different. no one probably expected Travis Hunter to do this. wonderful choice young man and way to go playing to the beat of your own drum!!!!!! best of luck to you and I cannot wait to see you play in the pro's one day!!!!!! cause Mark my words. this kid is gonna be an excellent pro player. he will make it to the NFL. he has the work ethic and the drive to make it happen!!!!!!!

Tbh I wouldn’t mind seeing all the top talent go to hbcu’s, that would be groundbreaking. Could you imagine all that bowl money going to those schools and their respective programs (science, tech, agriculture etc etc) As far as fsu, I didn’t mind him trolling us with the tweets and the hat throw lol 😂 After the last few rough seasons these fans are still spoiled and entitled.       Anyone who has been awake for decades knows these big name universities look at college athletes as cheap labor; none of these big name believe education should be prioritized over whether a young man helps his school make money.

The coaches at all levels are in some ways low-lifes also. Yes, they want the money too at the expense of the kids. Just look at the recent movement of power 5 coaches. NIL at least gives some avenue to the kids to cash in since the schools are making money hand over fist. It's business as usual and nothing is going to change. Each party has chosen this life. We will know in one or two years if his decision was correct. Believe you me, ESPN will follow this up. If JSU stinks next year, Prime leaves for the FBS, (God forbid) Travis gets hurt, or Travis enters the portal after one year, then everyone will come out of the corner like roaches saying, "I told you so...". Note: FBS has a play-off system and it over shadows everything in college football these days. Can you name the last the FCS champions? And JSU doesn't even compete in the FCS playoffs. I wonder want Prime said to Travis and his family to close the deal. Props to him for getting it done .

    I believe this kid understands the magnitude of his decision. He MADE history. In my opinion this kid chose to be part of something bigger than him and football by joining what COACH Sanders and others including himself are trying to lay foundation to.     I’m very happy to see this. College football has always resisted paying the players but I think this will make them start paying players. When 100 million dollar football facilities aren’t enough anymore the only thing left for PWI’s to do is start handing out bags of money and outbid the HBCU’s. 💰💰💰
